@DemoColorScheme thanks for the information dude. I also use a boss reverb pedal behind the dl4.. I am basically trying to get kind of a string or keyboard-pad sound..
Hey DemoColorScheme would I be able to create similar types of echoes/swells like the ones you did from 6:40 onward with just a regular DL4 (with chorus + reverb)?
@DemoColorScheme thanks, but one last question for now (unrelated to the vid) - Boss RC-20xl or Digitech Jamman looper/phase sampler? (I have a deal lined up but can't really decide which one I should get, being a vocalist I'm kind of leaning towards the Jamman because I can plug my three prong mic into it + the extra storage and features)
This is normal. Turn down the modulation all the way, this will increase the delay time.
And the DL-4 is good for what the DL-4 is good for; this will differ for everyone. To me I like it because I use it for unconventional delays, like the Tube Echo [how it reacts] and the Auto-Volume Echo, obviously, as you've seen in the demo vid.
Not. They don't compare - not a bit, really. Not a bit. The DMM is completely different from the DL-4. The DL-4 just models the DMM badly, so don't get it for that. The DL-4 does other things, as you know.
Did you buy the DL4 modded or did you send it to have it modified? In the last case scenerio. How much did cost you (shipping+costs)? Do you also have the EX-1 expressionpedal. It alows you to differ between settings. I like the directness, when switch between delays, that comes with the extra feature. Those blue lights are cool as well..
What's with the volumedrop. Is the difference, when modified, really noticable?
I got the DL-4 stock two years ago. I had it modded a few months ago, here in the Netherlands. So shipping isn't really an issue, since that friend of mine and I are both based in the Netherlands - as you are. The costs for me were especially low since it was the first DL-4 he modded and I'm a steady customer of his.
And no, I don't have the expression pedal. I'm not sure if you'd be able to still use it with the mod. You'd have to e-mail Rogier on his site for that.
7:30-8:20 i got distracted and almost fell asleep. Nice soothing sounds.

Hello - great demo. I just got my new 3 days ago. Could you tell me how to achieve that sound which starts at 06:36 ? thanks
SeboSalvatore 2 months ago
@SeboSalvatore
It's the Auto-Volume Echo. But you won't get that exact sound, since I was using some additional effects, like another delay and reverb.

Why your dl4 has an extra button next to the brand logo and has the effect light indicator blue?
mewsic156 1 year ago
@mewsic156
Because it's modded ... I'm explaining it in the video and it's written in the description ...

@ApotheosiZ
The BOSS takes an XLR input as well. Well, they're not that different, though the JamMan has the ability to use a memory card, so I'd go with that.

Definitely made me want to go play with my DL4. Your tone is beautiful and your use of the delays is phenomenal.

What kind of effect do you use on 6:39 ?
Do you do it just with the dl-4 ?

As said in the description:
Now and then I'm running the RV-5's modulated reverb in conjunction with the DL-4 and the pedal before the DL-4 that is always on is the Keeley C4.
The pedals I'm running with the Auto-Volume Echo are these:
- ModFactor [deep and heavy chorus]
- DMM
- BOSS RV-5 [modulated reverb]

Ok, thanks, I at last got the DMM, mine is 396ms. a shame it doenst do the full 550ms but the sound is fab.
What is the dl4 good for?

Hi, how does the dl4 compare with the DMM?
So you use both together or for different textures?
smartti1970 2 years ago
Not. They don't compare - not a bit, really. Not a bit. The DMM is completely different from the DL-4. The DL-4 just models the DMM badly, so don't get it for that. The DL-4 does other things, as you know.

And yes, the volume drop is really noticeable! So, the mod really fixed that, which alone is already worth it!
And thanks for the compliments!
