  • Wonderful footage, Uncle! The tent fire looks so realistic!!! :)))

  • Yes, you could smell the smoke and feel the heat: wonderful what SFX can do these days ;-)

  • Excellent editing, scoring and bone breaking! I can't wait to be a Boer!

  • Thanks Ron!

  • Can you tell me where you got your foreign service helmets and covers?

I have a large collection of good "Cork" repro

helmets and one original 1902 dated helmet.

I am always on the look out for more, especially the covers, havelock and spine pads.

    Good video.

  • Thanks Mikey, we got the helmets (repro) from various sources. I still have a couple of Vietnamese repro's in stock. If you want to sell any, best thing would be to write to the Boerwar Forum on Yahoo.

  • Excellent film, gentlemen. My best wishes for a speedy recovery to the unfortunate Lancer. Boer War is tiny but growing here in the US. We've a way to go before we reach your level, but we try. Always good to see more Victorians! Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks! I expect you guys will be doing things on a grand scale before long and we look forward to a joint event at some point in the future.

  • From the unfortunate lancer: Makes my leg twitch watching that. It just shows what good shots the Boers were ! Perhaps one of my better horse falls. Phil.

  • The Lancer who fell at 5.30, broke his lower leg in 3 places, both bones in the leg have now been bolted back together.

GET WELL SOON CHAP from a felloe reenactor

  • I think we all wish Phil a speedy recovery after that spectacular fall!

  • Superb film Chris, really enjoyed it. Would love to have been there, great turnout by all the groups involved, nice one. Up The Rooineks!!!

  • Huzzah gentlemen, an epic piece of film work there, i regretted not having been able to see the actual skirmish on the day but i was occupied in the napoleonic display. this however makes up for it nicely!

  • This Is Very Good! ;p

  • Thanks! I didn't actually shoot the footage myself (I was shooting a rifle instead!) so I had to work with what I got :-). Next time, I will use a tripod and sit on the sidelines.

  • Hi Chris,

Although the footage is a bit shaky from time to time, stil think you have done a great job in the edditing !! It looks great.
