no you wouldn't. I've seen this done in real time...if you can throw an effective punch to the back of his head in time you should be a professional fighter.
Great clip. I really wish the AJA would have a clinic in the southeast. It's hard to find the time and money to go to Maryland or California for these.
Sensei Kirby is using the "training technique" in this video. Weve gone to using the full contact version of this move, and its much easier. Its alot more dangerous though. You might want to try it. If you havent seen it, I perform it in my green belt test video. Basically, you use an elbow across the uki's jawline and neck to break kusushi.
it probably looks sloppy because he is teaching it and explaining things at the same time. Doing it in real slow motion which makes it look sloppy. I have the same problem when teaching techniques.
see this is the difference between this stuff and judo , bjj and other grappling arts .
this tsuff they sit around thinking up senarios while the arts i mentioned they are applying it and using it in a safe manor while going full on randori ( sparring) by doing that you are conditioning you body and your mind to have no fear . this they have to try to get into the senerios they play out in there dojo it never works .
Visioner: You obviously have never taken a jujitsu class. The fight would be over in 15 seconds. No time to get winded. Aye, ignorance amazes me.Nvbasilio: UMMM Jujitsu is self defense sweetie....Good lord people do some research!!!
I purchased his videos over ten years ago. It's great information. Who cares if he is not fit. He's not a bodyguard, or fighter. He's an instructor. People should respect him for his knowledge and ability to teach, not if he can fight a 15 min fight with a 20yr old. Alot of people are fit and are great fighters, but are not good instructors...
No, he won't gas out. He'll finish you in less than 5 to 10 seconds. Prof. Kirby is an 8th degree black belt and is legendary in the art of budoshin jujitsu. Don't be fooled by his looks. He's deadly !
Yeah, a "true sensei" who barely stretches his students out before class, gives them like 10 pushups, 10 situps, some break-falls and then class starts; one of THE laziest teachers of any martial art. He teaches techniques but does NOT condition his students to actually fight anybody and survive.
He keeps on talking about street attacks.
He should know not to give his back.
I would start hitting him, before he could throw me.

heaven forbid that a student would take the responsibility to condition themselves outside class, eh kata?
