Fortunately, these animals are protected under New York law; this prohibits anyone from torturing/unjustifiably maiming, injuring, or mutilating any animal. This law defines "animal" as "any living creature" and "torture" as any act resulting in unjustifiable physical pain or suffering.

clearly this video bothered you and I can understand the initial feelings. I too would be cringing if I didn't know anything about the situation. I would never have eaten it if there was any chance that it could feel my chewing. I assure you it couldn't. there is a limit on how many characters can be in a post so I will explain further in a second reply....
Not only do squid and octopus have no sense of touch but even if we're wrong about that, the pieces are already cut from the animal (they continue to live for some time) so if they do have a touch sense receptor in their brain, these pieces are no longer connected to it, therefore, no pain :) like if you cut off your finer and then someone chewed on it, would you feel it? no haha.
The pieces are sliced off the live creature. It is kept alive all through the experience so the pieces will still move for a while after. As for no sense of touch, are you really that uneducated. It uses it's tentacles like you use your fingers (while they are not shoved firmly up you ass!). And even if I cut off your finger, you wouldn't feel what the tip felt like but you'd still be feeling the pain from the hand that was still attached to your body and brain. Do you get that now? I doubt it!

I am Korean American, and it's a shame that I haven't been to Korea. I should go visit Korea and get myself some REAL Korean Food.
BOO YA!! I'm hungry now.
Remember, you have to CHEW the alive octopus first. Swallowing it alive is very dangerous.
