Do you or anyone out there know if the Solar and wind Turbines from Northern Tools Catalog are of good quality? I am ready to buy and install their solar Kit or the wind turbine kit. Either one comes with a unit that has two batteries, the Charge controller, and the inverter. The description indicates that the controller unit has inputs for Solar, wind turbine, AC grid and generator. I need about 1000watts a day for my "greenhouse" to run for about 12 hours a day.
Good update // nice to see // you got it corrected // a couple of your problems with your charger regulator// going out could be is being the same box as you had it before // the environment is corrosive
and hot // the way have it now will solve the corrosive problem // but not heat build up // to solve // vent // fan //
most electronics should have a environmental temperature // no higher than 90 degrees // to optimize life and performance
Last year I had enough saved and had a solar company install 16 panels. The controller/net metering is on the outside wall. My bill avg is $4 per month. When we lost power here in California last month, I called the solar co and cannot turn off the grid breaker to use my solar for power. so I save money, but have no power if the grid goes down. How about backup batteries charged and an inverter to provide power for refriigerator and oouple lights in case of another power outage?
@joeshittheragman42 We have used this system for a few years now and it powers most of our lamps, computers, charges phones, etc completely seperate from the grid. A few years ago I did try to run a small dorm frig for a few days and had no problem. It has been a great little off grid system when we have a down grid. We are the only ones in the neighborhood that have lights and tv after a bad storm. Thanks for the question, Lonny
Try to find a small pc fan and have it pull air out of the battery box and have a small whole between the 2 boxes pulling air into the inverter box. It will help keep everything cooler and get rid of the gases in the battery box. And again... nice video!
Thats good you corrected a mistake on here. i didnt even think about that either when watching it. Alot of people will not come back on here and admit a mistake! Good catch and keep up the good videos!
