Just to be clear, I'm not saying it's lipsynced, or that it's all on playback, but there are definitely more tracks in the mix which aren't being performed, hence the harmonics at 0:28 even though Matt isn't playing them.

Just watch from 0:28 and you will clearly see that Matt isn't doing the harmonics, otherwise his hand would be over the third fret, rather than moving around.

This song, this particular performance was what woke my interest and love for Muse.

I started digging through many of their live performances, and time after time their energy and passion simply just blew me away.

It's so rare to see today imho. This is also why I beleive that Muse will be part of the movement that will save the true spirit of live performed Rock'n'Roll.

I think you're right, it's a synth. They use a couple of them in this track, the piano during chorus, and if you listen carefully, you can get a couple of high pitched PEW's.

And if I'm not mistaken, there's a SSSSHHHHHHH sound during the solo. May just be residual noise from the hihats/crashes.

But hey, everyone does it. :D

And the fact that they're only 3 people on that stage, doesn't make it emberrasing or anything. There will just be gaps to fill in, so to speak.
