that's not a fact. It's maybe a quarter of the problem. Dereg let lenders leverage themselves beyond reason, it also allowed the lenders to become so far removed from borrowers (i.e. sub prime firms) that bad loans were inevitable. Repackaging the securities hid the imaginary inflated value.

That's what politicians do. It's called a stump speech. Something happens during the campaign, and you write a story about it, and then tell that for a few weeks (people come to hear it like a band playing their latest song). Until something else happens, and you write a story about that and go around telling that story to people. Every politician does it. The pie story is Obama's latest stump speech. Before that it was "fired up and ready to go." Before that it was "one voice."

With a Republican president and Congress the economy soared, taxes decreased and unemployment went down sharply. It was only in the last two years when Democrats took over Congress that our economy has fallen, unemployment has risen and if Obama gets in that Restaurant Owner won't have any business because his taxes will triple, causing him to have layoff employees, making the unemployment rate go up, and his would be customers who now don't have jobs will not be able to afford to eat out.

Not true at all...The economy experienced the greatest growth in history for 8 years under Clinton...The economy was still growing but it deccelerated dramatically over the past 6 years...And then this past month it officially hit a recession...With these "high tax rates" Clinton posed our economy was able to create 22 million jobs...George Bush made this same tax argument 8 years ago, and we've seen where that led...I hope Obama does roll back the bush tax cuts, because they were a disaster!

I believe a tax cut would only decrease the amount the MIDDLE CLASS would be paying to the government, not give them anything for free. The tax increase is only for people/businesses earning over $250,000 a year. E.G. rich people/corporations that can afford to pay.
