Don't get me wrong,Shelby's are a beautiful bad ass car,but very expensive and high insurance.I bought a 2006 mustang Gt last year,was garaged kept for 3 years with 3,200 miles on it for $18,200,I put approx.$10,000 into,edelbrock eforce supercharger,9 Lbs boost,comp cams,jba headers,highflow cats,magnapack mufflers and SCT tuned for 568 HP to crank,I'm just giving a opinion,if you cannot afford a shelby,build up your GT,and build it faster for way less money.

@cobrapower03 Sorry but your fact's are wrong, the 08 shelby GT500 only has 500 to the crank,they changed the horsepower in 2010 to 540 at the crank,Look it up on youtube.I'm making 568 to the crank,with mods and price of car for approx.$28,200,Iv'e beaten a shelby already.But It sound's like you got a pretty good deal anyway,put a good exhaust on it and a smaller blower pulley,and change the gears to 3.73,and have it SCT tuned and you'll have a fast shelby.

I'm not saying that your car is junk I've owned alot of GT's and put tons of money into them and got no return on resale, I am saying there are alot of good deals on cars right now with the economy being bad and Saleens, Roush, Cobra's, and Shelby's have better resale value and performance packages.

i think my dads srt8 charger woud be a close match for a gt500 his car is a freak it put down 418 hp and 423 tq on the dyno with only a cold air intake and if it had a supercharger on it it would destry a gt500

Assuming it's a newer one with modern suspension and a lighter weight, a simple bolt on supercharger would push it just past the GT500's stock hp but it would still lose.
