these guys maybe didn't realize that they were on to something. Kind of like Ravel and Debussy. At least The Lounge let them get in on the bottom floor. Then the stereo and vinyl 33and 1/3ds....
Hadn't heard this in years. First heard it in '62 during a visit to Pearl Harbor courtesy of the Navy. Great times and memories. Never got to see Mr. Denny in person.
Takes me back to my days of living in Hawaii. Great times. I miss Martin Denny, and thank him for the beautiful and enchanting music that he gave the world. Aloha oe, Martin, and RIP.
During an engagement at the Shell Bar, the bar had a very exotic setting: a little pool of water right outside the bandstand, rocks and palm trees growing around, very quiet and relaxed. As the group played at night, Denny became aware of bullfrogs croaking. The croaking blended with the music and when the band stopped, so did the frogs. Denny thought this to be a coincidence, but when he tried the tune again later, the same thing happened.
I have a quick request. I might have asked already but, I was wondering if you could post the song/video of Jungelero by Les Baxter? If you do not have this video avalible then no worries. Thanks again my friend. :)
Ahhhhhh! A treasured and favorite classic to listen to! Horray! Thank you so much for this lovely song! Many blessings to you and have a Happy Thanksgiving! :)

This Denny fellow certainly doesn't believe in minimalism, does he?
I suddenly have a thirst for a martini.
