Fighting against Ukraina was one of biggest polish mistakes. Loads of Cossaks wanted just to be normal soldiers on polish registry with FEW priviledges not to be exploited by magnats. If somebody thought the REPUBLIC OF THREE NATIONS would be the FIRST POWER in 17th c. Europe... Nothing of what happened would happen. But Poland's always had problems with their nobles and politicians... Too bad.
thats partly true not all cossacks wanted to be part of the polish army but the ones that were still fought for ukraine but were called registered soldiers ive done a lot of research on these guys
If Cossacs will agree on all that propsals made by senator Kisiel in a name of King and parliment, they`ll have thier own, separate army in thier own state. The same as PL & LT had, not necessary working together, but in allie. Khmelnycky till age 54 was officer of His Majesty Zaporiżżjan army, recived golden sword for Smolensk war from Prince Wladislav IV, the same Hetman Sagajdachny after Khotyn battle.

first poland occupied ukraine, then polaks were protecting the land that they occupied. That's the way it was. POLAND never fought for Ukraine and Polaks dont' give a fuck about ukraine.
First of all, only land which Poland conquared from Ukraine was Galich, ret was just gaved under administration of "Crown" during Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, but there ruled Ukrainian magnates. Before jesuit-King Sigmunt Vasa there was religious freedom and Cossacs were fighting hand by hand with Poles and Lithuanians against Turkey, Moscow or Walachia.
Poland once fought allied with Symon Petlura... but betraid him, that was big mistake and shame. :(
and the cossacks hated the polish magnates and noble cus we tried to take theyre rights away so the dude chmielnicki say this follow me and be free from polish rule! so he leads them in rebellion with the tartars . and poland fought because we needed them the land was fertile.
Ej, people please it`s history which i hope will never happend again. No more inviding Ukraine by Poland... or Lithuania.
But to be right with history, even Moscow was ours for short period. Feudalism was slavery for real... the same in Poland as in Russia i`m not suprised that people were fighting for freedom, but in Russia there weren`t even chance to rebel.
Until Chmielnicki involved them... Truth is that under Tzar regin Cossacs weren`t free the same. Whole war (rathr uprise) was becouse Poles were paying Cossacs for watching boarder, when they decided to pay for less of troops, some nobles wanted them to enslave (like it was with peasants in feudalism), becouse COSSACS AND NOBLES WERE FREE PEOPLE... in opposite to Russia where everybody was Tzar slave.

no thats not true after many battles between the poles and ukraine they signed a treaty and poland broke that treaty which caused the war to start again the treaty was broken with one of the battles against the ottomans (ottoman empire tried to take ukraine aswell) and the poles helped them
Which treaty? There were THREE treatyies: at Zborov, Cudnow and Hadiah. In EVERY standed that there will be created Ruthenian Dukedom, Cossacs will become nobles, Poles and Crown ary will be forbidden to go there, union of Brest(churches union) will be cancelled in this Princedom ant every other right which had Poland and Lithuania in this union will be equal. Only problem was that kicked out Ukrainian nobles (like Vysnevecky) will came back.
Together we could be POWERFUL STATES !!
Alone Russia take over us...

Crime was also ours.
But what about cutting pregnant Polish women with a sew? Opening stomach of a living person?
Crime was also ours - but it was much more rare and not as cruel.
Have U heard of UPA's order to kill every Polish child? to kill future 'punishers'?
