Maule M7 Turbos an Pilatus Porters are probable the 2 most amazing mass production airplanes ever.

(and I am not so sure about the Mass Production thing...if they made a whole bunch of them they would be less expensive and I would have a chance of owning one...not gonna happen)

Beta is not thrust reverse. It is flat pitch which means no thrust in either direction. You do not reverse the engine, it has a propeller on it which is controlled by a governor that changes the pitch of the blades, just like any plane that has a constant speed propellor except on turbo prop you can go through beta and into reverse.

wait a minute you landed with reverse thrust?! please correct me if im wrong this is quite amazing. Why wasnt a a conventional approach/circuit used were there obstacles?

not possible the engine needs to go through to idle to goto reverse thrust, he probally changed the angle of the CSU

what is the csu. another damn tlw in aviation! Also you say its impossible to move it from forward thrust through idle down to beta, whats stopping this? I never flown anything other than fixed pitch.

You can't reverse the _engine_, but on the Porter you can reverse the propeller blade angle. So you can land with reverse trust, or just use it to brake on the ground.
