All I know for sure is that God can miraculously heal things that a lot of people think are incurable and anyone who doesn't think so hasn't experienced it or known anyone who has experienced it. Nothing to see here, move along. Jay Adams, Nouthetic counseling, and true Christian counselors have been at war for years. Christian counselors have been more fair to Jay Adams and his insights than Adams and his ilk have EVER been to those who might wish to come along side him. Ovbviously, you've never been nouthetically confronted by a biblical counselor. It's like being tortured. I know, I've been nouthetically confronted for the "sin" of OCD.

Secondly, the methods you use, despite your claims are unbiblical. Where do you find this type of counselling in the Bible?

@chava2uk I ask where you find in the Bible drugging for selfish behaviour - as a number of depressants have admitted. I have already pointed out that "mental illness" is determined by psychiatrist sitting round a table and voting - no science whatsoever. Paul underwent terrible experiences yet was never depressed but "Rejoice". MB

Of course I rejected unsubstantiated claims. there was no proper study ever done. I did not switch as you suggest. Yu do not accept the definition of schizophrenia other people use. That is dishonest. If you are not meaning what the psychiatrists mean when they use the term, you will mislead very well meaning people and put vulnerable people in danger.

This was so encouraging to me. I am located in Nashville, TN, United States. I studied this recently and came to the same conclusions biblically. I corresponded at length with Chava2uk by email. She rejected Glassers book as "not researched", yet referred me to the huge DSM manual. This is compiled by psychiatrists sitting in a room and voting if a set of symptoms can be classified as a new "mental illness" - NO SCIENTIFIC SUPPORT WHATSOEVER. She switched between the Bible and what psychiatrists say, yet said she did not accept their views! . I eventually closed the correspondence down. She refused a free copy of our book.

Schizophrenia is more than a social problem! What about the voices and detatchment from reality? Paranoia and delusions are very real to the sufferer and they do not know it is happening! If anyone had ever cured it, it would have been BIG news.

To compare the above message with the creation message is not acceptable, that is Biblical, the above is an opinion of men.

As a Christian, who has personal experience of such symptoms, and worked in mental health. I find what I am hearing offensive.

It has nothing to do with wanting your own way. It affects your concentration, you find it hard to make anything you say understood. You see things that are not there and experience sensations etc. that are not real.

Yes, taking responsibility is important, we can learn to keep out of the way when we are out of control, but this is not a cure, it just leaves us to suffer when we are ill with no support.

Blaming the sufferer takes us back to the dark ages!

Just because no cause has been found yet, does not mean there is one. Schizophrenia does not always come on gradually!

i have a chemical imbalence. I have low seritonine levels,its just the way my brain is and the way i am. I am a model citizen and good person a good tenent and I study Gods word daily. I'm not thief,lier killer, blaphemer, and i love my neighbors and pray for them alway.
