@Turbo05Dodge actually I put a small one on a 50cc and an 80cc engines before and they did produce a noticeable power boost through the mid and higher rpms. Seemed to be restricting at lower rpms. But I agree with you here, that super is to small for that engine.
Did you ever make pressure measurement on this setup? I am personally planning an 0.2 bar increase (1.2 absolute pressure) on naturally aspirated 1.3 liter engine and this would be in theory capable for that. I am fully aware that it needs something like 2kW power too achieve that but there are up to 6kW brushless DC-motors available for that. How much RPM did you use with that impeller?
I'm waiting for the Germans to show you how to do it. Do the math. You only need the boost when your foots to the floor. Rest of the time you turbo is a cork in the exhaust port. Smaller than 1.5 liter engines with a long stroke dont rev high enough to move more air than a well designed turbine could deliver, plus you get boost down low like a supercharger. This is the way to go for small engines. Why are there no automotive engineers?
@ronito6 If it blows up a ballon it shows it has the ability to force air into a confined space like a root type supercharger and prevent the air from escaping through the compressor housing( reversion). This is stacking air on top of air to build pressure like a root type supercharger. If you were to try to inflate a ballon with the eram or gte electric supercharger the air would just pass back through the fan blades making no pressure psi. This can actually work and needs more refinement.
man ,if it were made of metal and if i could use the exaust or a belt to drive that thing and figure out a way to cool the air before it was forced into the motor, i bet it would work. WHAT they already do that ?
Why are the NO vids ANYWHERE that demonstrate any benefit of having one of these, or similar, items on your car. I can't find a single BEFORE & AFTER video. My educated guess is that such a device would (a) restrict airflow above approx 1500+ RPM (b) pose a DANGER to an engine if any part of it was ingested by your engine (c) be at risk of CATCHING FIRE (judging by the sparks). I would buy & fit one to my MR2 (REVS TO 7500RPM), if the makers of this can demonstrate AND PROVE THEIR CLAIMS. :)
do these things do anything as I can't actually find any filums on utube with them on a moving car all there is knobs fagging around firing bear cans and blowing up fucking ballons. And another thing who the fuck makes or for that matter listens to music like this, if you do u need some help go get a robbie william album, this music reminds me of fat yanks in long short the wrong side of 30 who should know better.
LOL you used a leaf blower scroll? first off the motor looks like its being over powered. there should never be that much sparks. and its best to use a high rpm brush less motor. plus tthat scroll isnt designed for high pressure nor is that fan.
Its a good concept but you need a bigger blower and a very strong and fast electric motor. Depending on the application you would need the fan to put out more air then it would be sucking at redline. And honestly I dont think it puts out as much as a V6 3.0L sucks at 6k rpm.
@ma70killer By blowing up the balloon its showing that it makes static pressure like a real supercharger. If you tried to blow up the same balloon with the eram it would not inflate because the eram make dynamic pressure with is useless for an engine.
@300ZXrider1 , don't worry, i have my own supercharger too from toyota and i know exactly what you mean..i have to add up one pulley to my harmonic balancer, machined, to make it working, i have another option, to add up a 1 hp, 746 watts, motor dedicated to turn that damn supercharger alone while conserving some power of my crank..i think its possble.
i say all the time u just spent making these stupid videos and the money u spent on that piece of shit what ever u want to call it u could have gotten your lazy ass to work and just bought a real turbo wow people just need to stop trying point blank
it is impossibe to generate enough air flow from a 14v battery, it requires like 50v+ even for a small engine. i'm not just saying that, there is math behind it. i have seen electric superchargers on drag cars but these generate 40 psi and require massive batteries and only for 5-6 seconds.
good effort........but you could of saved a lot of time and money and just went on eBay..........maybe one of thse $1.99 super chips could solve your problems also, i hear they give an instant 25 extra horsepower to any car.....lol
hahahahaha yeah well I'm pretty sure it doesn't have practical use on a car but hey it blows up balloons hella fast soooooo I guess if you're a clown it works out for the car? Yep it sucks
You guys are dreaming, talking about leaf blowers. There may be CFM or velocity, but there is no pressure. A blower on the current top fuel car draws 600 HP just to turn the shaft. It takes power to make it and a 1HP leaf blower ain't going to do shit. Period.
Electric superchargers arent for large capacity engines! Also FYI i am going to be dynoing my golf around march time so you can have some paper figures as proof :>
its a basic homemade version of a SPC-60 AIRCRUSHER electric supercharger but I bet it doesn't put out 33 psi like the SPC it wouldnt even touch the SPC-40's 15+ psi
With this supercharger and a car with an slow fuel leak and presto! All those sparks...
Everyone has electric superchargers all over YouTube, but NOT ONE has a before and after dyno test. I can guess why, the output of these are "less" than the natural vacuum of the intake manifold therefore no boost.
At best, it acts like a ram air. For a 5.7 liter engine, a ram air is 5hp. On a 4 cylinder maybe 2hp. The draw of power from the charger, 1-2hp.
So you're telling me you'd rather sit through 5 minutes of practical silence while he does the slideshow? I give him 5 stars for being courteous enough to actually put music in during what could have been a boring slideshow.
All the naysayers who talk shit don't know jack about 4 stroke engines. they beat off to the fast and the furious while this guy is trying something constructive. Absolutely useless. You think you know about this blower, cause your imaginary friend had a talon in high school? Way to contribute to modern society faggots. you're the same kids that put 400 lbs of subs in the trunk of your mom's civic and run 10s on street tires in July.
dude if you really want some boost out of that baby...connect that baby to a 1000watt power inverter, trust me it will do some damage...in a good way lol
Guys am I the only one thats thinking about how much drawback an electric motor like this is gonna take off the alternator, you might gain 10hp with it but lose 11hp from the resistance of the alternator.
to all you saying it wont do anything it will, none of you people on here ever have any real knowledge, you know things fans of whatever subject it is knows, for instance all of you know stuff car fans know, any real mechanic will tell you your full of shit. especially 1kera here. if you do your research electric chargers, if decent ones are perfectly valid tuning options if a little expensive for the effect at full price
just in case nobody else noticed that thing is a fan not a compressor, will not compress any air. I can tell just by looking at it. But I was wondering what would happen if the connect and actual centrifugal turbo to a powerful electric motor
Blowing up a balloon means absolutely nothing at all. All PSI is is a measure of restriction, so if you put something that moves air into a sealed space of course it is going to create pressure. The air has nowhere to go. If you put this in an engine that is already flowing air, I bet it would not make any pressure. In fact i would bet it would be a restriction. Especially when it's turned off in normal driving, the engine is going to be starving for air! Kiss your gas mileage goodbye!
Seriously guy, this thing isn't going to do jack. And for the guy saying that is it can create 1BAR that you'll have significant gains?? Do you realize the atmoshere itself is pressurized to 1BAR? To make ANY gain at all it would need to be able to pressurize the intake manifold to OVER 1BAR to gain anything other than the outside air all by itself. When a boost gauge is reading "0" it's actually reading 14.7 PSI.
do me a favor. i ain't bitching like most of these people, but don't get any ideas anybody. i was curious about the "echarge" ordered it off of ebay. installed it about 2 hours ago. BIG waste of time and effort. made my engine want to die because of the restricted air flow. brought up the RPM's kicked it on... no difference don't buy this thing please.
You make me laugh. The only reason a seriously high powered one of these would make an effect is it COULD decrease the restriction of the cars intake, ironing out some flat spots. It doesnt matter if it can blow up a balloon.
Think about this, u can blow up a balloon with your mouth, making pressure, but u couldnt make your car faster by sticking your licks over you intake (please someone try it).
You need to flow the same air as the car is sucking in at that rpm, and then more, at pressure.

I think it would probably help a bit like even 10hp at best , but biggest drawback I see its the fatigue resistance of the materials , it looks ok for this test but imagine on a long run and by long i mean from your place to your work . I think it would break fairly easy .
one question if you managed to get significant boost from an electric supercharged then wouldnt you have to modify you motor eventually just like a normal turbo engine
these are a waste of money!! There is no way a pos fan can move enough air to create boost. they would have to flow like 300cfm and they dont, more like 70, u just wasting hp
i would like 2 say good job i am making 1 just like this. y do people ask if it makes boost (psi)well it has 2 because it blows up a ballon and 4 all u people who dont think its true try holding a ballon in the wind and c how far u get, and if this makes 1 bar (15 psi) that is awesome u could run it on a v8 and have a huge power gain of up 2 60%.
and if u dont think it would do anything put a leaf blower on your car inake and run it on a dyno u will b shocked in the power gain.
You're actually wrong, there's 600-650 CFM leafblowers, capable of pushing air in at 150-200 miles per hour.
If someone were to go through the trouble of mounting and intercooling two leafblowers, they could potentially power an 800+ horsepower setup. 1,300 CFM is plenty sufficient for that.
Nelson racing engines uses a 1,700 CFM throttle body, for 2,500 horsepower applications.

@OrioThyGrim im sure he could get creative and have a regular intake and another port for the ESC... that way the restriction problem wouldnt be an issue my friend

@OrioThyGrim it is a good concept, there is a turbo charged hill climb car somewhere on youtube that uses a small turbine motor to keep the turbo at constant rpm. I'll try find the link. A more powerful electric set up would achieve the same thing :)

yeah you 100% right only cars 1.3 or under benifit from them, i have one on my corsa and my god it benifits lol dropped the 0-62 time by ove 4 seconds
