I would play clear sky first if you want to see the story line in more detail but Pripyat is a lot more fun. Make sure you patch both the games to fix alot of errors and bugs.

At the end of clear sky *SPOILERS* You have to fight strelok because he is trying to get to the center of the zone, as the fight moves on more a huge emission occurs which kills/disables their brain. At the beginning of Shadow of Chernobyl you see that you wake up next to the truck with a bunch o dead bodies, you were in that truck, but you survived and found scars pda and mistaked it as yours. Thats the basis :P

I think it was Strelok after his pseudo-emission defence is destroyed by Scar in STALKER: CS. I also agree that Fang was trying to uncover the zone as well as also in STALKER: CS, you find out he was buying some weird mechanical parts for a device he was working on, which I think is the decoder in STALKER: SoC.
Well, in STALKER: Clear Sky at the end of the game, you have to destory Strelok's psi-emission defence using a Guass rifle and once its down, a huge blowout occurs killing or knocking out everyone. I believe the parts in this video where he is trying to touch the wish-granter is at the very end of STALKER: Clear Sky, just before he is knocked out and most likely falls down in Reactor 4 where he sees the wish-granter.
yes, now things are making sense, i thought they just changed everything because GSC are a bunch of lazy pirates which removed the controlled controlled zombies and swarming rats and burers, but if its like that then the c-consciousness people attempted to zombify strelok and put him on a deathtruck, which gets struck by lightning and so stalker soc begins.
But why was strelok ordered to kill himself? was it a mistake by c-consciousness?
The Monolith didn't want to make him a zombie, they wanted to make him an agent of the Monolith, like a spy but still a regular stalker who has been brain-washed and groups with other stalkers (You can see Strelok be brain-washed by the Monolith at the end of Clear Sky too). The S.T.A.L.K.E.R tatoo was tatooed onto their arm to indicate they were agents (Which Strelok has). Fortunately, while being driven away from the NPP, a bolt of lightning hit the truck which made it flip over.
Plus, if you reached Ghost's body at the end of Lab X16 in STALKER: SoC, you can hear Ghost leaving a distress message stating that Strelok knew something about the Wish-granter was not right, which is why he gathered Doc, Fang and Ghost into his team during their raid on the CNPP at the end of Clear Sky. Luckily, Doc, Fang and Ghost made it out but Fang died shortly later after getting ambushed by bandits. Ghost died in Lab X16 helping out the scientist but Doc is still alive who you encounter.
In the description of the PDA you find in Strelok's Hideout in Agroprom Underground, its bandits who attacked Fang and Ghost at the Bloodsucker village near the Military Warehouses, apparently one of bandits had a scar on his face with a Vintar BC, who was the one who killed Fang. Similar to the description of Scar from CS but Scar didn't have any scars on his face in-game, so ... ya?

i think i got it, for some reason strelok, and "stalker" have the same letters but the O, in fact what i think is happening is that he was trying to, for some reason, get away from the zone. The people in the back i believe its his group, remember the bar keep tells you that strelok led his group to the middle of the zone? i bet anything those dead bodies are his buddies

the area in Shadow of Chernobyl is not good for cars... in Clear Sky, there will be vehicles for MP only...if Shadow of Chernobyl did not had such a harsh environment, they could have cars and stuff, are you all and, Strelok is pretty cool word ;)!
The *mod* which allows you to drive wehicles is actualy just unlocking hidden (locked in final build) content - if you remember early videos it was alowed to use cars there. Now it's locked. Mod unlocks it.
i am just a little pissed at this game, ended up in the last zone by accident and i couldn't backtrack to where the doctor said to go, instead i got some crap money ending : (

whatever it is, i do not remember being sniped whilst having a thousand healthpoint forcefield when i completed stalker SOC on master difficulty.
atleast the npcs in SOC do not drop grenades into your eye-socket from miles away with surgeon-like precision.

The tunnel area you are talking about has severe Radioactive activity and is extremely deadly.
Advise:

Wear a Scientist (HAZMAT) suit, you will get this from a certain scientist escort quest near the Duty (trainyard) area.

Don't forget to use a few Anti rads in time.

This a cutscene. Also, there's a mod (Don't know if it's done or still in progress) that makes you able to use vehicles.

The *mod* which allows you to drive wehicles is actualy just unlocking hidden (locked in final build) content - if you remember early videos it was alowed to use cars there. Now it's locked. Mod unlocks it.

did you finished FIND THE GUIDE MISSION??and got into the hotel in Pripiat (sorry if i spelled wrong!)?? if now.. DO IT then, the ending you finished was/is FALSE!!! there are 2 real endings...

Lol that wasn't a zombie, it was a decomposed body.
Everyone in Strelok's group had the stalker mark, but that's probably just one of his fallen comrades.
