Technically, Sunny founded "divas" in the WWE. Chyna only had a couple matches against Ivory and one against Lita. Most people say Lita made the womens' division in the WWE but they're wrong. She revived the womens' division because female wrestlers in the past in the WWE have done moonsaults and other high flying moves before her. It's just that they retired over 7 years before Lita came to the WWE.

If you take the athletic ability of Victoria, combine them with the technicality and mat skills of Molly Holly and put it with the strength and intensity of Jazz you get Beth Pheonix.

No, you are right. Chyna didn`t help the division, but she did something else! She showed the whole world that women can compete with men. That they can be as good or even better than men. She showed us that intergender matches are possible and that it should be more of them. Chyna revolutionized the view of women in wrestling. She brought something new that no one had ever seen before. I think that is very very VERY important and worth crediting, don`t you think?
It IS, she definately showed the world you can be a strong female wrestle and wrestle against men. Not taking away that credit but people everytime there is diva clips (ala this one that has NOTHING to do with Chyna) overpraise Chyna like she did something great to the Woman's Division.

Technically, Sunny founded "divas" in the WWE. Chyna only had a couple matches against Ivory and one against Lita. Most people say Lita made the womens' division in the WWE but they're wrong. She revived the womens' division because female wrestlers in the past in the WWE have done moonsaults and other high flying moves before her. It's just that they retired over 7 years before Lita came to the WWE.

Beth Pheonix's spotlight is not overrated, her appraisal since she's debuted isn't overhyped. She doesn't get enough credit for keeping the division alive. If you take the athletic ability of Victoria, combine them with the technicality and mat skills of Molly Holly and put it with the strength and intensity of Jazz you get Beth Pheonix.
So the Chyna comparisions must end but I know that's just asking for a miracle. Chyna didn't help the woman's division at all.

No, you are right. Chyna didn`t help the division, but she did something else! She showed the whole world that women can compete with men. That they can be as good or even better than men. She showed us that intergender matches are possible and that it should be more of them. Chyna revolutionized the view of women in wrestling. She brought something new that no one had ever seen before. I think that is very very VERY important and worth crediting, don`t you think?

It IS, she definately showed the world you can be a strong female wrestle and wrestle against men. Not taking away that credit but people everytime there is diva clips (ala this one that has NOTHING to do with Chyna) overpraise Chyna like she did something great to the Woman's Division.
There's no question without Chyna there would never be a spotlighted Beth or Jazz or Molly or any of the strong women in the past but she didn't actually help the women in the division, infact the opposite.

Chyna isn`t the only one that is constantly mentioned. People always mention Trish and Lita. I guess it`s because these women (Lita, Trish and Chyna) are probably the most famous of WWE. By getting credit in the heavyweight division, everyone suddenly got a more positive view of women in general. No matter which division they are in.
