  • I love how the climactic ending of this song was edited seemlessly with Pompeii at the end of the 1st Spider-Man trailer!

  • There are 3 deaf people who listened to this song, silly deaf people Youtube is no place for you, how can you enjoy a video with no sound?

  • @PCBetaFusion No.

  • to me this music sounds like a combination of techno/electronica, alot of classical, and some modern age rock

  • my favorite song from E.S. :)

  • Who does the Album Cover Art Represent? Biblical figures?

  • I think you're right. However, E.S. Posthumus' Albums Cover Art are from famous painters, I guess, if it is only from one painter.

The Unearthed Album Cover Art is: The Inspiration of Saint Matthew from Caravaggio.

For more questions, you can leave a message on my profile. ;)

  • @ContainNuts More like: "The Shocked Face of St. Matthew" or how about: "St. Matthew's Heart Attack XD

I'm sorry. I just couldn't help it XD

  • @ContainNuts it's physically impossible to explain what E.S Posthumus is..... because it was created by two inspired, genius brothers.... their music exists beyond the normal capacity of human comprehension.

  • @ContainNuts My favorite cover has to be Unstoppable. Holding the head, the sword. I wish I could buy a print and have it on my room. It's disturbing and just gives you a certain feeling of epicness. I Imagine a huge battle, and in the end the leader cuts the head of off the king and shows it to his army.

  • Pythagoras would be my best guess, and the angelic being behind him could possibly be a muse. I don't think it's biblical in any event. I think it's historical.

  • It's "The Inspiration of Saint Matthew" by Caravaggio so it's not Greek at all (my first impression as well). The angel would seem out of place.

  • @Faranoks The single cover of Unstoppable is David and Goliath by Caravaggio. He is famous for his use of light and the black backgrounds, similar to Rembrandt.

  • What makes you think it's biblical.

  • @Faranoks I get thumbs up just for being in the uploader comments!

  • The Latin root word post means "after" and humus means "earth" or "soil".

  • yes, it does but actualy is a fixed construction meaning after death. It is often used for someone's creation published after their death.

  • Sigh - E.S. Posthumus (also known as "ES Posthumous") is an independent music group that produces cinematic style music. It is a form of epic classical that fuses intertwined drum beats with orchestral and electronic sounds. Their music is inspired by the Pythagorean Philosophy which states that "music is the harmonization of opposites; the conciliation of warring elements". The E.S. is an acronym for "Experimental Sounds" while Posthumus is a word that represents "all things past" - Wiki FTW

  • Great! Thx :)

  • Wow, I didn't knew that. Thanks for the info.

  • Uhm, not really O.o

  • Ehm what???

  • all the songs are good from es posthumus...all very soothing and inspiring and chilling and awesome.

  • erm-im just sarting out in latin...but doesnt posthumus mean 'unearthed' ? so, with the E.S, dosnt it mean experimental sounds unearthed? i dunno, just wondering....could be wrong.

  • you can correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure E.S. stands for "Expiramental Sounds", or at least that's what I read. "Posthumus" has Latin roots. "Post" means "before" so "posthumus" means "from the past". But this band is really AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • Yes, you're right about the E.S., but "post-" actually means "after." The prefix "ante-" means "before." The Latin word "humus" means "earth" - therefore posthumous means "after death," or "after burial."

Agreed on the band, though. Amazing.

  • actually it stands for Expiramental Sounds, or so I've read. :) "posthumus" has Latin derivatives. "post" means before and so "posthumus" means from the past. :) I love this band too. =D

  • postumus in Latin refers to the future. Romans had a concept that the future snuck up behind you, while you looked at the past.

  • The ES in Posthumus means:

    Epic

    Songs

  • amazing!

  • 1:05 is the best part for me. The choral just eases in so sorrowfully.

  • ulltimate

  • epic music mean =)))

<3 i love it and the end is the best ;D

    3:20

  • <3

    ES Posthumus = Epic WIn!!

  • A-MAZE-ING

These are a collection of the most epic music ever. And I mean EVER. That's E-V-E-R.

  • Great music! I love this group!

  • Very good music! It's one of my favourites on this album :)

  • pretty good but i still prefer Nara

  • Hey, so do I, but don't ONLY listen to that song! ES Posthumus is a goldmine, and if you only listen to Nara or Pompeii or Unstoppable, you're missing out.

  • yeah ive listened to all of them, im just saying that my favourite is nara

  • Which is awesome. Everything after I said "Hey, so do I" was more marketed towards those who are new to ES.

Nara is a SLICK song, by the way.

  • k

    yeah it is :)

  • awesome
