His phrasing is amazing and that's what makes him stand apart. Like they say, its not what you play, but how you play it and Aynsley plays it REAL GOOD! I do not understand why he is not huge in the U.S. other than exposure.
@beefsupreme420 you prefer alex and guthrie, but I prefer Aynsley hands down. BUT alex and guthrie are totaly AMAZING any day of the week. If we all liked the same thing life would be boring, but I love this guys playing, mainly because it is what I am trying to draw inspiration from!
Maaaan you are fukin great !!! since the first note you grabbed me !! i admire your work. Stay cool and enjoy the people. Want to see you on the big stage.
Fuck man you made me laugh, your a great player as well as expression artist with ya face looking around the room you reminded me of a young George Thoughougood rock on bud !
because you have that attitude i can promise you you will never reach your potential as a guitarist. guitar playing isn't a competition. its an expression, a discipline, to a certain extent a grasp of skill and a constant search for advancement of musical technicalities. by the looks of your profile and your comments your someone who just goes around posting on videos you don't appreciate. stop being so close minded about music and get out from behind your computer, its turning you into a jerk.

lol you fucking asshole,
guitar playing is about rock and roll, its about getting shitfaced every morning before you go to work, being cocky and being great at what you do...I don't post videos on youtube in need of vindication from douchebags like you, don't be a hypocrite, if you only regarded guitar as a talent and advancement of whatever bullshit you said then why put 100 fucking videos on a site where all people only ever do is compare and post comments?
that might be what guitar is to you but to me its a hell of alot more. and the guitarists that are famous and have made it have that edge, that's why there known for what they do. i post videos on youtube because its a communications website and i want to share my music with the world in hope that it gives people the same enjoyment it gives me when i play it. music is NEVER about being cocky. when it is it looses all its credibility. its expression that comes from the heart.
go see aynsley wherever you can, i saw him in a small pub coupla years back, totally blew my mind. great tunes played by a great artist (and the band were great too....!)
ok 1st...go practice until you can burn this guy where he sits then when you have reached that level..now comes the hard part....shut the fuck up and let people enjoy watching and listening to a person who seems to be really enjoying what hes doingand in turn puts a grin on my face and as like always i make the stupid mistake of casting my eyes on the comments and walla...ignornce fear and jelousy all waiting to opine on his playing..
hokay, i'm just gonna say it... he's good, but a little overrated. WAY too much pentatonic/blues scale stuff. good for a while, but come on, SRV used Dorian and Mixolydian quite a bit...
he's NOT playing in his own style... that's what i am trying to say. try coming up with something different from the blues that has been around for the last 80 years... i love this stuff, but come on. i know it's hard, but you don't have to call me a dipshit about it man. i mean, realistically, how many times does he repeat a few of those licks in this one solo?
Yeah, but you can still improvise and be overly redundant... i'm not saying that it's bad by any means; he's got great touch and tone, it's just i feel he should branch his playing out instead of staying within the pentatonic and blues scales.
i don't think it's arrogant to have an opinion like that man. it sounds good; i'm not denying that at all. as a future reference, though, he should expand his vocabulary. he would probably even be one of the first people to say that.
You didn't post it like an opinion. You posted it like you were telling him how he should play his solos, when he clearly already knows what he is doing.
what is original exactly? :-) He's obviously playing from his heart and isn't that music is about? As for repeating licks and being derivative...um isn't that part of the blues style? At the end of the day it's what moves you. If you like to listen to Britney Spears or invade countries stealing what they've got and call it patriotism and democracy. That's your bag.
YHEAAAAAAAAAAAA Buddy is one of my favorite cause he use some of those subtle bends whit the index finger. You play very clean and the sound is very ''buddY'' absolutely one of the best blues jam heard on youtube

he's NOT playing in his own style... that's what i am trying to say. try coming up with something different from the blues that has been around for the last 80 years... i love this stuff, but come on. i know it's hard, but you don't have to call me a dipshit about it man. i mean, realistically, how many times does he repeat a few of those licks in this one solo?
guitaralbert0 3 years ago
This is just how he likes to play. It sounds awesome and he loves to do it.
Have you considered the fact that this is entirely improvised?
ThePsychoReturns 3 years ago
Yeah, but you can still improvise and be overly redundant... i'm not saying that it's bad by any means; he's got great touch and tone, it's just i feel he should branch his playing out instead of staying within the pentatonic and blues scales.
guitaralbert0 3 years ago
He likes playing this way and it's awesome to hear. It's arrogant to tell a great guitarist how to play.
ThePsychoReturns 3 years ago 2
i don't think it's arrogant to have an opinion like that man. it sounds good; i'm not denying that at all. as a future reference, though, he should expand his vocabulary. he would probably even be one of the first people to say that.

You didn't post it like an opinion. You posted it like you were telling him how he should play his solos, when he clearly already knows what he is doing.

reread the comment man... it's definitely an opinion. just like you thinking i'm a dipshit is an opinion.
guitaralbert0 3 years ago
It was an opinion, but it was voiced like it was a fact.
ThePsychoReturns 3 years ago
i just feel that he's limiting himself. he should open up more. then he'll be more widely respected. sorry if i came off as being a bit elitist.
