  • @6:37 i hear Röyksopp playing :)

  • This thing kinda reminds me of the robot lady from the Jetsons.

  • so they're trying to develop a common robot base that future research can be built on...

nice idea i guess... but given that all the currently useful robots are bespoke built for a task I'm really doubtful that it'll work; after all, what task is the 'human-on-wheels' body structure ideally suited to?

tbh its the same problem i've had with this area of robots in general: I mean, ASIMO is an incredibly impressive bit of kit, but what use is it?

  • @Isanion Maybe in the future it can make you snacks and bring them to you while you're working. Of course, I won't be the first person to test that one out. But I fear for the future jobs of waiters nonetheless.

  • That opening in the head, is it for those old 5 1/4" floppy disks?

  • @Poisonseed that's a laser scanner.

  • :D> nice vid- the units in the video look ~generic though; imo.

  • ... T-100

  • "They where born slaves, slaves of pre programed tasks.... but eventually the gift of self awareness was bestowed upon them" (?)

  • next thing you know it will connect with google and sky net will be complete.

  • I want one :(

  • Are these for assembly lines or what?

  • This reminds me of Johnny 5 "Number 5 is alive!"

  • @SelfDestructor2 all it needs is a lazer beam and a little lightning lol

  • @matthewgutz Exactly what I thought of when I first saw it too! Number 5 alive!
