I tend to see the Strength card as being about love and caring, the story of the person puling a thorn out of a lions paw, also forgiveness, tolerance, paying someone back the goodness you have received and romantic protectiveness.

What fascinates me most about the tarot is how most often the cards arrange themselves so perfectly and that the meanings of each card has different flavors that all somehow blend depending not only on the arrangement of the cards but the querent's question as well. So in the end, if I'm understanding tarot correctly, the general and the specific somehow come together yielding a new and brilliant perspective.
