  • i wanted to do ballet. haha and now i dont.... i couldnt possibly remember all those things

  • wow!!!!

  • perfect

  • shes letting her chest go up and down

  • They look like they are having lots of fun! I 'm 12 and I want to take ballet but I can't afford it so I can't take it unless I get into this special arts school in 2 years :(

  • @AGwatermelon that's suck i know how it is last I'm 19 now and i started ballet last years and it went to a point that i couldn't afford ballet classes anymore and they aren't that expensive in my dance school but i just couldn't but the oner of the school told me that she would give me a scholarship during this year and i was so glad and i hope she makes every dream of her came true because she is way to good for me :) so have hoppe.

  • his name is OLEG!!! <3 <3

  • thanks for the reply and i had a duh moment after i typed my question i noticed the link for the video..does anyone own this? is it a good video for a intermediate dancer? trained in cecchetti and RAD?

  • thanks danceclassmusic i so want it i loved it and would love to use it at home...is the DVD a good one? i read some comments about it and just was curious it looks good on here when i watch them but i didnt know? thanks again!

  • where on earth can u buy these DVD's?? please help someone lol

  • @stacylive2dance I'm glad you asked. The link is given up there with the title of the DVD.

  • I want a balletsuite like that! I've been searching for one forever. Somebody knows were to buy these?

  • ducks. thats what my ballet teacher would say. stop sticking your chest and bum out ...

  • Oh! He is from Russia

  • They have such good turnout

  • QUESTION: I have seen a lot of videos that they are girls overweight and on pointe isnt supposed is dangerous been on pointe with that weight?

  • @Malela89 I don't think its too dangerous. I'm not the lightest ;) and on pointe! Your feet, ankels, knees and back have to be strong and you will be allright :)

  • @Malela89 (It know this comment is a bit old, but I just wanted to reply to it.) It doesn't matter what weight you are. Strength is really the only thing that matters as far as danger goes. Even if a girl has the ideal "ballet body," if she has no strength, it's far more dangerous for her to dance en pointe than a heavier, stronger girl.

  • the tallest girl is the most beautiful of them

  • That girl on full pointe was amazing, she is really hood especially at such a young age, they all were, I wisn I could do that, hopefully some day I will. Sorry about spelling errors.

  • Is what they were doing at the beginning some kind of tondu??

  • Straight back ladies :) Close your ribs :)

  • I have this book ordered (:

  • there jumping en pointe(not good)

  • @Ilovepointe134 There are different techniques. "Jumping" en point is one of them.

  • awesome!

  • im not loving how often they look down. However, that may just be the camera angle

  • i like the echape combo its fun

  • when they echape (may not be able to spell!) when they lower or close hardly any of them lower their heels completely

  • They are jumping, and that is not good. you are supposed to rise, not hop or jump up.

  • I`m 12 years old and we are doing ballet like them, and i think they are 14 or 15 :O

  • @Dividizzle210

    haha same here.

Alot of them aren't keeping their backs straight though... And what BroadwayGirl131 said

  • @DomTheGroovyPotato

I agree. And their arms... Gosh XD

  • @Dividizzle210 I don't remember how old the others are...but Logan was 11 yrs old ...She is my daughter!

  • @frenchbabex. Yes, usually pointe dancers work for years to get en pointe but as long as you have a good instructor you are working on your technique and you practice at home, and you work on your strength you should be fine

  • Comment removed

  • I have just started ballet and im not exactly a begginer lol.

they are all about my age and already on pointe. This worries me. It will probably take me years to be on Pointe:(

  • The older you are, the less time you USUALLY have to do ballet to get on Pointe because your feet are more mature and more likely to be stronger with less training than for someone young with growing feet. Of course, not everyone is the same, and it may take longer for some than others. There was a girl at my studio who started pointe at 21 with minimal training and she was ready for it. It just depends.

  • cool

  • mt teacher now used to teach at penn.

  • their pointe is horrible.

  • @danceforeternity112 their pointe is not bad at all

  • the one who demostrates the releves is leaning too far forward

  • are all these girls deaf? can't they hear the music? gosh.

  • @ObscuraLupa That's what I hate about my ballet class-as a percussionist, I focus on the rhythm and beats, while the girls with amazing technique look inexperienced because they don't know when to do anything.

  • They have excellent technique....but they have no felling. They look like robots, so stiff!

  • I agree!

  • woww the pointe looks so fun! it makes me want to learn it and enjoy it . really!

  • karin is arching her back too much!!

  • How do you spell- what sounds like - leesawd? He says it in the video? Thanks!

  • glissade

  • glissade =)

  • I think the girl at 1:30 was hopping so much

  • i agree

  • she's young, she has to build strength to make it look smoother. =)

  • I live in New Jersey, and I want to go on point. I'm 5 foot 7inches. But, i weigh a little more than I should. How much should I weigh to be on point!? Can you give me any advice or tips for loosing weight???

  • Max 110 and cut on burgers, cheese, bread, chocolads, ice cream.

  • you dont have to way 110 pounds, thats to little for your height. i know a lot of girls who way more than that and they are on pointe, so i dont beleive there is a specific weight amount to b on pointe.

  • i love en pointie work. i've been doin pointie since i was 10

  • its pointe not pointie lol

  • i think they are good dancers however i think one of the dancer needs to stop sticking her butt out as much, it does make a difference to the posture.

  • that is a gr8 way to practice on the bar

  • that was good

  • they're like jumping incredibly and moving really far roward during their releves. i looks like they are jumping into releve.

  • The group movements aren't releves, they're sousous with movement forward and then backwards on purpose. Sousous are bascially jumping into releve, particularly in the Russian technique.

  • some ballet schools teach them another technique so instead of rolling up on en pointe they jump ;)

  • i think that's just the style but i noticed that too

  • @snowboardgloory It's called springing not jump. Jumping up is terribly wrong, but to spring up is like quickly scooting your toes under to get en pointe. I think ALL dancers en pointe doing fouettes naturally spring up, instead of rolling through.

  • @cutielolxx If you heard, he said near the end when they reversed that it was "sousous back," so of course earlier in the first side their sousous travels forward. I agree that it looks like they are jumping, instead of springing, we all start that way- when they are stronger it'll look better.

  • a deep plie is a granjate

  • Do you mean a grand jeté? a grand jeté is a leap, not a deep plié. I think you're talking about a grand plié.

  • there all moving their hips

  • they look ridiculous compared to the beijing school's students..i favourited them-have a look and see for yourself before you flag me down. because if you do watch it. i highly doubt you'd disagree=]

  • They look good for their age. I'm also glad that they've been taught epaulement- so many teachers don't put an emphasis on it until it's too late to become second-nature.

  • wow these girls all have amazing turn-outs!!!!!!!

  • nice! some of them don't put their heels down when plieing after going up onto pointe.

  • yeah, i saw that too!

  • my teacher gets me for that im trying to get out of the habbit

  • i really wanna do ballet but I don't know if it's worth it

I'm 16 but I'm really well trained in modern jazz, tap, freestyle, swinger and cheerleading (if you can call that dancing) and i have tried ballet because i had to do it in one of my plays - i had about 50 lessons and rose on to pointe for a few exercises although i think my teacher rushed me slightly - i don't know if i would be any good, what advice can you give me to help?

  • I am a ballet teacher and I have students at the age of 23 who started ballet last year and they didn't have any experience on dancing! If you want to do it then just do it! It is not about the talent.. It is about your work! ;)

  • That really makes me feel good! i want to try ballet so bad :P im 15 but soon be 16

  • you can start ballet at any age, go for it if you want to :)

  • @eleniyen I'm am 21 soon to be 22 in june, I really want to learn ballet but dont know where to go, most people say I'm too old to take begginer classes, any suggestions?

  • @eleniyen Hi thanks for that advice! I live in Saint Lucia where there's only one teacher and she is not that good. So sadly I will not grow .. i depend on youtube for advice and tips.

  • @eleniyen Can't vote this up so I'll say "YEA!" instead. :)

  • @eleniyen I agree experience isn't everything, if you love to dance then that's all you need...

  • @eleniyen really cause i'm 18 now and i use to do ballet for 3-9 and then i move and we couldn't find a school that would take me and now we found a school (three years ago)but they said that i was too old. I would really like to do ballet again i had a alot of fun doing it.

  • @animenut2001 I started when I was 14 having done no ballet or dance previously, and i'm now getting ready to do my grade 7, a year later. It's not about how long you've done it for, it's the effot you put in to it. There's a girl in the royal ballet school who only started when she was in college. Age is just a number :)

  • @eleniyen 23 was the age I started at as well, and I am not getting ready for pre pointe. In the video of the recital. you could not tell I had started later. that was a year ago.

  • @eleniyen talent IS work and dedication. without a proper work ethic potential is stagnant.

  • @eleniyen

What training did you do?? It is so so ddangerous to teach BALLET to adult beginners who have had no training Hope you start them at barre, even basic tendus, especially second, derriere can be disastrous. I see the foot roll first, then the knee. hips not even, could end up very badly injured or have problems with hips, backs, knees in several years. Ballet is not fun.. It is hard work, perfection and yes you can have fun but don't mess with their bodies!

  • its worth it it really is it feels good to be able to bend the way you can and you know u look beautiful doing wat u are if u were taught well

  • balletdancer923: I agree. If you have the passion for it, and the willingness to work hard, by all means, dance!

  • Wow! what a wonderful teacher! i which I could take a class from someone like him!

  • is this cpyb?

  • how cute :D they're very graceful ^_^

  • I am in a intermediate!=}

  • they are not very good

  • They're pretty good on flat but when they get to pointe that one girl is jumping a lot when she springs up on releve

  • i like that they're showing dancers that arent perfect yet and are still training. i did notice that the asian girl's body wiggles on her tendus and the blonde's turn-out during her fondues to second cud be better.

  • cause when the asian one puts her foot back into first position, she puts her heel in first and THEN her toes...causing her to wiggle. she does have amazing turnout though.

  • where can I buy this Dvd?

  • I have a question for all who know ballet:

Is it true that you have to be at least under 100 pounds to dance it? I have always loved ballet and I am 120, so I don't know if I should learn it or not. I am very confused..

  • NOOOO way! i am 120 pounds and i know people way over that who do ballet too! there is no weight maximum!

  • of course not! that is the biggest bull i've ever heard of! believe me, there's no hight or weight limit to dance ballet. professionally it may be harder to get some main roles in some stage pieces, but other than that... i'm 5 ft 9, and 180 pounds, and i'm pretty much more confortable en pointe than most of the 100 pound girls on the company...

  • we have the same body type..

is it still possible for me to dance ballet again. cuz i quit when i was 10..

  • well that depends how tall you are, yes if you want to be in a top russian country or sab, no if you want to be in a company that likes healthy (bu† very fit) ballet dancers such as boston ballet, houston ballet etc.

  • Dude! I am 145 lbs. and I do ballet!! If you want dance ballet, do it!! =D

  • Cool. how much can i achieve on one lesson a week if i am a 13 yearold beginer?

  • same im a beginner but i want to gain alot. not just demi or flat. i really want to learn so much. im taking one lesson a week...

  • I NEED to learn BALLET!!

  • I think they are great.

  • the girl doing the seven releves on pointe in center need to pull her hips above her knees every time she plies, otherwise she sticks her butt out....i get the same correction all the time..but i never noticed how it lo0ked till now...lol

  • It looks as though her core needs a lot of work to keep herself pulled up.

  • the asian one has a nice body to do ballet with but she is off man, so slow!

  • they are okay but the azian one is always off :[

  • They are heavy on their feet.

  • I wish my class on points was this easy!

  • mayb it's only my own opinion

    but to say teh truth

i dont think they are gd...

they got big arches and stuff

but they're not using them fully...

i think they need to work out on turn out and upper body...

  • OMGGG kristie haha

  • this is a good video.....they are all talented and wonderful dancers

  • ... malko sa zle :| they aren't with the music :|

  • il a un mauvais accent anglais le mec xD il serai pa français ?

  • russe!

  • wow the chinese looking girl has amazing feet on point!!

  • love it!

  • logen feet look really tiny

  • The first one that was en Pointe needs to keep her bottom in.

  • i agree, shes also jumping to pointe. but they're all fairly good. lots of potential

  • wow not to be mean but they are really off the music and i agree the logan gurl does slouch a lot

  • Sometimes the music gets out of synch when some formats of video are converted. I had one go out by a whole bar - the dancers were on the beat, but finished a bar behind the music.

  • the logan girl, slouches alot.

    not to be mean though.

  • My little brother does ballet and when he has exams his friends support him :)

Just tell them you have to be fitter to be a ballet dancer than a footballer!

    xx xx

  • oh thanks i think about it

  • If u want to do ballet, do it! You don't need permission or acceptance from your friends. If doing ballet would make you happy, do it. If your friends have a problem with it, maybe they're not real friends. I agree with SimplyAmazing...........GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck!

  • you don't have to be ambarrassed to your friends when you do ballet i think it's beautifull for a boy to do ballet and if they laugh let them try...

i think you should just go and try some lessons...

    lots off luck

  • oh thanks i think about it

  • im jelous

  • 5*****

  • i'm a boy and i like it to see ballett and i wanted to dance balletl but for me it is

embarrassed to my friends. i wish i can dance ballett.

  • Laemmi93,

    --

You shouldn't not want to do somthing because of what your friends will think. I dance ballet and i love it! I think its great that you see ballet for the amazing thing it is. If its really somthing you want to do GO FOR IT! :D

    ♥Simply Amazing

  • do ballet!! i want my little bro to do ballet but he is "scared too too so dont let ur friends stop u!

  • dude. u need to do it. have u yet??? cause there is seriosly not many guys who want to do ballet. and if u start and u LOVE it, its easier for guys to become profs because theres not many guy dancers in the world!!!

  • they were good but everything they did i could do but no offence your dancers are amazing!!

  • WONDUFULL!!JUST NEED MORE ENERGY!!

  • i went to the summer program he mentioned-he was possibly the nicest teacher i've ever had

  • WHHHHY hasnt the rest of the world caught on that CRANKING does NOTHING for a dancer. work to a dancer realistic turnout. turing out from the hip socket and not twisting or cranking the ankle and knee. you can tell via their overdeveloped buttcoks, and pelvic adjustment through tendus in second, how badl cranked they are. poor things

  • omg i totally agree...THANK YOU =) i used to crank and now my knees hurt like hell....

  • he's so nice. It's no wonder his students are so good. He's nice and he seems to care about their technique and not pointe (pun) out how bad something is.

  • in 2;52 the girls look bored?

  • I'm on pointe and it takes a lot of effort..

  • lol He sounds like Bela L.!!!! lol

  • well he is nice but the only why your teachers are stritch because they want you to get better and you will thank them when your older.

  • he's so nice.! *_* my teacher was realy mean and he punished us. ; |

  • GOO OLEG!!!

  • He is such a nice teacher! I like the way he coaches the students. No wonder he could produce such talented young dancers!

  • I went to his summer program...hes amazing. Such a wonderful teacher.

  • nice teacher!!!! I would be so glad to have a teacher like that

  • How old are these girls theya re amazing. The girl on the relevees is great but maybe a little less stiffness, more grace. The girl in the back row in 2:29 is amazing and very graceful. Now I have some great excersices to teach my students! Make some more great videos.

  • Thanks for posting this, its great! I've been looking for some exercises for pointe in the centre! The girl who does the relevees has gorgeous arches, but her arms are very stiff!

  • I love it! those girls are working so hard. And the teacher is watching them very closely.

  • the girls on pointe should roll through their feet more. watch my pointe videos, please critique

  • It is the russian style to go up the way they do (spring). It is not french or italian.
