Just a brilliant, brilliant upload. Sheer claaaaass (apart from Memories which I cant stand). To think I heard her performing in a low dive in a local town recently with shocking sound. It hardly seems credible. She should be gracing the biggest, grandest stages in the world with huge adoring audiences and feted by the great and the glorious.It is a mystery to me that outside metal circles she is an unknown. (or perhaps that is the answer).

I think ever since I heard faint back when The Phantom Agony was released I've been in love with this song... The acoustic version is just as powerful. Makes me shiver with the raw intensity of it every time I hear it. The two others are just as perfect.. Memory is probably a demonstration of sheer passion here.

Technically, that's the acoustic version of a ballad. Most symphonic metal bands have ballads - softer songs, such as feint/solitary ground/white waters/tides of tf time/trois vierges/safeguard to paradise for Epica... The band is still a gothic metal band, though acoustic ballads are just that - accoustic ballads :p The music itself is def. not metal, but the band still is ^^. The term gothic metal encompass the band, not the song. But I see your point x)

Love the way Simone switches to operatic mode for a few bars in 'Run for a Fall' from 6.09 - 6.18.

Her technique is outa this world. She has kinda evolved a 'new style' that does 'pick'n mix' from operatic, rock and folk sources. And its perfectly natural and artless (does she know she's doing it?). I'm SO EXCITED by this sizzling singing sensation - it's not true. I stop my ears to 'X factor' and listen to her instead ,,,,,. Best thing to come out of Holland - EVER! World Class!

Oh Goody - its got the Cello on it. I much prefer acoustic version of Feint to electrfic studio version with drums. I can imagine some metal fans hating this sweet harmony stuff. But that's Epica for you! - Defies all the stereotypes. (Thank goodness!), BEAUTIFULLY DONE (not a word you associate much with Metal).

I can live without the Andrew lloyd Webber though (last one). It's lightweight compared with the Epica numbers and doesn't really suit Simone. (it's meant for far lesser mortals!)

Thank God for You Tube otherwise I probably still would not be aware of them. I agree with you, Simone is a work of art. Not trying to sound ethnocentric but she has classic Nordic European beauty that you could stare at for hours and then there is her ethereal voice, poise and great stage presence. She is a gift to our world.

@abuseifer I have checked them out and was even more blown away than with Epica. I didn't think that would be possible. Floor's voice is so pure and powerful with incredible clarity and range. Their songs fit exactly into my musical tastes. I have always liked driving hard rock and metal rhythms and bold classical symphonies. The combination is perfect.
