People don't buy magazine's for the sake of the magazine... they buy them because who is on the cover and who is inside them. The same goes with this advertisement... Sex sells... It always has and always will.

@djmopa hah well I'm sorry. I write for a men's lifestyle magazine. And while what you say is true, some people do buy mags for the people in them, the bulk are loyal readers through subscriptions. Also, it is a myth that sales feed the magazine industry, buyers don't but advertisers do.

Oh of course. I am actually a professional model, so I follow the business from all sides. I do agree, I am a loyal reader and buy magazines for the content. Yes, advertisers sell their ads in fashion magazines because of who reads them.

The thing I find so interesting is how most of the models who model stuff cannot even afford the brand. You have a 23 year old model, modeling an entire outfit that costs well over $5,000 plus, yet they will probably never own it. Mature men buy it

Even us writers who go around for events dressed to the nines in order to portray a certain lifestyle clinking our champagne glasses don't get paid enough to wear these labels from top to toe everyday. It's all such a sham. I've worn $5000 pieces... rented. I'd rather pay my rent with that money. :)

@uberredden Yes, but you have to agree those $5000 plus dollar italian suits sure fit very nice and snug like a glove. D&G and Zegna are my favourites. Their clients are typically only hollywood, bankers, lawyers and people who don't know how to save their money. Realistically, most people cannot afford to spend $300 on a plain white D&G shirt...or $250 on a pair of underwear. The cheapest items are always the Fragrances. They are cheap to make, mostly alcohol, then water and 2-5% oils..

It is either 46 seconds of pecs and nipples or 46 seconds of tits and ass. It goes both ways. My favourite thing is the makeup ads... There are women at the makeup counter buying makeup and wonderful if they can get their skin as soft as the female in the advertisement... What these women do not seem to understand is that many of these makeup campaign women, are 13-15 year old girls... They'll never have baby soft skin like that again, they did once, but those days are gone.
