  • But the first book of the Railway Series wasn't even written until 1945!

  • brilliant! too bad the Railways were aren't around when silent movies were around!

  • @ThomasFansVsHIT railways came before films

  • At 4:31 Thomas looks like a villian from the 1930's mellodramas due to that rised eyebrow and smile.

  • 1930s?

  • Rapscallion is a funny word. :)

  • It doesn't matter what year the stories were written, Coal is likelt to be based in the 30's, Henry had his flyink kipper crash shortly after in 1935 (NOT 1950/51) , seen this a few times Alaric, loving it, Wish you would do another ;)

  • If this is from the 1930's, what year is it from?

  • This video is supposed to look like it's from the 1930's, but the story was written in 1951.

  • Excuse me, but the original story was written in 1951, that's the anachronism in this video.

  • That song is the theme from the Sting. its called The Entertaianer

  • Shame Thomas u cause climate change.

  • what's the name of the first song after the intro

  • this is actually 100 years old!

  • great vid! inspiring...i recommend you a movie from 1924

    " der letzte mann"(directed by F.W. Murnau)

  • This is actually more 1910's. The 20's had more frames and fluid movement.

  • You should change the name to "Coal- The 1920's version" since they also had sound in the 1930's. But I did like it!

  • Yeah, like I said earlier, 1930s should be taken to mean 'Early 20th Century'. Just pretend it was made dead on the 1st of January, 1930. That'll do it.

    Glad you liked it!

  • Really good!

  • ^-^

  • brilliant

  • I must say...This is one of the most orignal concepts I've seen in a while for a fanvid as I suppose it is. Loved it! Especially liked the use of the Entertainer at the end but it wasn't 1930's music...Ragtime was out of fashion by then. Other than that...Excellent.

  • It's not 1930s? I've been ripped off! Why that no-good conman of a music dealer! Oh well, glad you enjoyed it anyway, despite its lack of accuracy.

  • Lol, Doesn't really matter, Most people think ragtime music is 1930's anyway...i'm just a geek!

  • I was not aware of that

  • Interesting!

  • How about doing this for most episodes?

  • I doubt it. I don't have the time, and even if I did, they'd lose the excitement if I did too many episodes in that style.

  • Right

  • Dunno. Possibly. I guess if I add some slangwords to the script, stick a filter on the film...yeah, probably could.

  • That's true, but 1930s version should be read to mean 'early 20th Century verson', rather than any specific date.

  • Right. Could you do a 1950's version.

  • Fascinating. Although some cartoons in the 1930s actually were talking cartoons. Like Bosko.

  • How did you do this?

  • Combination of a lot of spare time, MS Paint, and Windows Movie Maker.

  • I'm you're first viewer
