  • what shithole

  • US & Europe military are Satanic; they install poor group of people & puppet leaders to steal resource & to committed Black African genocide. Fuck American & Europe banker & army.

  • If regan can be president,

I suppose itd be nice to see Damon as president and Affleck as vice president

  • This video is from 2008. I am writing this in 2011. Most of the internally displaced people are not yet back home...

  • Ben,

I truly admire your efforts, you are one in million (unfortunately), I hope more people like you are able to make a difference. First step, abolish guns.

  • I love the line that Ben holds so effectively, without giving an quarter to the victim mentality, in the way he conveys the power and dignity and strength of the Congolese! Go, Ben! Thank you for all that you are doing. Let us all do our part!

  • Thanx B. A, u real!!

U know a lotta people r kept in the dark, 4 them Africa's this dark, mysterious place,i hope this can raise the light and push awereness for more action.

  • I'm aware.

  • Our entertainment media tried to tear down this man when he was banging J-Lo. He's proven himself to be a more than capable director of films, and more importantly, a decent human being. I don't care what the reason is for his humanitarianism, whether it be altruism or sheer vanity. He could be sitting in the hollywood hills 'chillin' like a villian,' but instead he chooses to shed light on an area of the world that few know about or show concern for. Affleck is a good guy.

  • This is real poverty people. I laugh when Americans complain about there life. Living in the U.S is a blessing.

  • belgium destroyed this beautiful country.

  • @nnamdieze87 Indeed they did.

  • Why isn't Angelina Jolie putting a light on this? Anyone know if she has please provid link to article or video, anything quoting she has. I find it Shocking as women herself she is not concerned for brutal, incomprehensible treatment of women, espically on the eastern part from what I read. They don't even have the luxury to end it all if they want to.

  • Some more PR crap for Ben...

  • Just to correct a mistake, this war killed more than 6million people and not 4million. Anyway, I'd like to thank Ben Affleck for his humanity. Sorry for my poor english, I come from Congo and speak french.

  • All African war tragedies and poverty will stop the day when the United States, Canada and all European developed countries will stop stealing the natural resources of the African continent and will stop spreading conflicts in order to destabilize the African economy. Slaving is alive today more than in the past. It's called ruining a country's economy by spreading conflicts, so as to steal more easily their natural resources. If North America and Europe are rich is because Africa is poor.

  • its so sad.

  • The only way to free this world is

    THE ABOLITION OF MONEY.

All will be free, there is plenty of space for everyone, the world is not overcrowded at all.

No more costs, no more payments, that is the way to freedom and brothership.

  • Which ever militia gains the valuable territories in Congo what they are fighting over than there is emence wealth to be gained from the natural resources that are there. Western worlds especially including China should stop selling machine guns and bullets to these poor countries who are killing tribes against tribes in congo. Its purely to do with money and power that maybe gained. While the West keep a watchful eye to see who will be the victor so they may establish their business.

  • I saw clips of this on Oprah and I just started crying. I think this is just so unfortunate! Though we place celebrities in a different circle (sometimes above a pedastal) but they really are human just like the rest of us who care about the human condition and want to help as much as possible. I think Ben Affleck using what he has to help is great! He's just using his resources for good :)

  • So what should we do about this? Send our military to them? If you guys say yes and do not like the Vietnam war then all of you guys are hypocrites. We went to Iran/Iraq to help the people and if you guys hate that and said it should not have happened, then we should not help them either.

  • I love Ben Affleck, a lot of my future as an actor deals with trying to find answers, helping and making a change. Ben Affleck is such a great inspiration. Plus he is adorably handsome, Liz.

  • God I can't Take IT!!!!

What the fuck is wrong with this world and the fucked up humans that populate it? Christ almighty if ever there was proof of no God - This is IT!

CEO's making 10 million dollar bonuses stealing from EVERYONE - Enjoy your fuckin' blood money you foul diseased putrid piles of shit.

How dare you be so fucking greedy and callous. Just appalling.

  • If you dont like Ben Affleck, hey.. you don't have to kiss him, but don't hate him for bringing attention to the evil that exist in this world.

  • lordwhorfinx, you're either some immature kid or some sadly ignorant ass..The U.S. ate well from the proceeds of Belgian tyranny in Congo, which engineered the death of 10 million Congolese in the 1890's..(yes long before wwII) in your ignorant mind this may be acceptable..just ask the heirs of American rubber companies like Uniroyal and BF Goodrich...

  • As a Congolese born, I continue to pray for these people, my people....that one day this will be over and also hope that I'll be one of those who bring change to this country. My home country.

  • furthermore what do you care ben? you're going home to a huge fortune and sports cars..."regular guys"? you are a hollywood elitist.... go away and just make movies we can throw in the bargain bin in 6 months like Jersey Girl and Dogma...lol

  • No, he spent his fortune on J.Lo, and I don't think he collects sports cars, don't know if he bought his motorcycles back after j.lo...he's not 'that' rich

  • ok ben, you showed us...what are you going to do about it....or are you going to ask US to take care of it? They have to work their own problems out, not our job. That is what Hollywood and the liberal media has told us.. If we were to take action, the screaming left would put someone here on trial for warcrimes....sorry, not this time.

  • 1200 people die eachday? even by Africa's standards that stat is unbelievable...for the Congolese people sake i hope it's a gross exaggeration

  • Comment removed

  • such a smart man. it's good he made this film about congo.

wish you the best for the people of congo!

  • Just read the TIME article - 2/23/09. God bless Congo and all its displaced peoples. A thank you to Ben Affleck for trying to make a difference in the suffering of the innocent. We should all do more.

  • The side of congo i live makes this side look like Palm Springs. bitchez NC14

  • Be bless Ben for your umbeleivable courage!!!!!!!!! Barikiwa

  • He's a great guy. Good for him.

  • I will never understand why certain stories get attention and others are so unknown. Thank you Ben Affleck! You are brave and good.

  • The Congo is such a beautiful place, we must all do our parts to prevent the violence.

  • It's all part of the plan. The purpose of the human race is to consume itself to extinction. The only way to stop this is to stop multiplying like rats. We have no natural preditors and we are blinded by hope and delusions of happyness and senseless ideals like love, freedom, enlightenment and self improvement. Our necesities are primitive sleep eat and fuck. Some fuck eat and sleep better than others, but we all still do the same. Let the nukes fall from the heavens so that we may see oblivion.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I missed the show but desperately wanted to see it. I sponsor a child through World Vision and she lives in the DRC, so this is a subject near and dear to my heart. Thanks again!

  • This is amazing. I have spent years defending Ben Affleck to all my movie loving friends who follow the crowd and write him off as a bad actor. He is a great actor and a great human being. This does not prove the formaer, but it certainly confirms the latter. Thank you for posting this. I hope more people get to see it. This is a tragedy almost beyond measure. I will continue to praise Affleck for his fortitude in bringing this atrocity to light.
