It's amazing. If he'd made that joke about Roots today, people would be whining and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be crawling out of their cracks and crevices to make statements.
Those were the days when the stars had class and talent; and dressed with class as well. And a whole new generation has discovered Betty White; thanks to her being on Hot in Cleveland and hosting Saturday Night Live.
Nowadays, these stars dress like a bunch of slobs.
milton says the same thing to betty as he did to lucy. he says both of them won a dance competition of the virgins from memory and said they both traveled with some band, not because they were singers, but because they just liked to travel with the band. did he just have a normal thing he said to everyone or did he just repeat it because he ran out of things to say?
I would like to see Betty White in a show with Doris Roberts, Cloris Leachman, Kathy Bates, Carol Burnett and Nathan Lane called Ole Habits. A comedy about retired nuns discovering life for the first time. If anyone has money to fund this let me know.
love betty white :) she is so talented and beautiful and you could tell the comediens on this show found it hard to say negative things about betty thats why they turned on each other :)

Some of the legends of showbiz paying tribute to Betty White even then. They couldn't know the half of where her career would go.

Betty White really stole the show. 'a novelty to see a white on television" topped the cake though

@gurly246455 Milton Berle wasn't really that funny. He had a team of writers on his show to make him funny. So did Lucille Ball.
xander7ful 4 months ago
@gurly246455 I think it was a typical thing for him. These roasts have a lot of repeated routines, like with Gladys Ormphby and Foster Brooks.
