Trust me...I graduated film school and didn't get any help from them at all. All they want is your money and they promise you things but never deliver. Fortunately, I didn't rely on them and took it upon myself to work off my butt and keep making films and starting from the bottom (if you assume you will start from the top you should just quit right now) and TODAY I can joyfully say I am so glad I did that because I work for one of the 4 top entertainment companies in the world. It's a fact.
@watchmanproductions Let me put it this way: What will happen when you have solved the existential crisis ur faced with every day, or whatever you hipsters moan over every second- you'll have to live your life and have some fun. We are having some fun right now
USC students/graduates and any film student really should FIRST venture out into the REAL world away from mommy and daddy's safe haven and get some experience in the real world and hopefully mature from what they see and feel out there because that's the only way a real good story (film) could be made. If not, then you are stuck of making shallow films like this one that have no substance at all. Sadly, this is Generation Shallow.
Don't buy into the Sundance festival or any other festivals that think they are the stamp in regard to a filmmaker's future. It's not true cause many have gone to Sundance and other festivals in the past and they haven't become successful from it.The key is to keep making films whether you get into a self righteous festival like Sundance or not and just following your passion. There are a lot of successful filmmakers today that made it and Sundance never accepted their films.it's a flawed system.
Wow, another USC film that's created based on cheap shocks and good production value but of course NO REAL STORY or MESSAGE. This is the type of films you get when you are a filmmaker who hasn't lived life yet (hence their youth) and of course you have to thank our subjective Sundance judges as well who think their personal choices really matter for the rest of the world. They too just love films that shock and are sarcastic in their humor.gosh it's sad there aren't any true films left anymore.
I grew up near Beaver Dam State Park in Carlinville, IL. Never heard of Stumpy Sam, but I am more than willing to say his name 3 times to see if the fun starts.....
I saw this last night and I thought this was amazing every things from the music to the cinematography. Where could I go or how could I see this again?
Saw this at a film festival last year. It was AWESOME.
