  • Why didn't you take the cage off?

  • @latviandude

When you're using a knife that large and heavy, the cage helps keep the bottle from shattering. It's mass takes up some of the impact.

I've got a smaller and slightly more elegant looking knife I use for sabrage now, and when I use it I take the cage off, or at least move the cage up and fasten it around the lip of the bottle.

  • Its clear he don't really know much about real Sabrage.

  • how funny co-incidences like that. hahaha n.n; (person from FA here..Nami XD)

  • Now, I have a reason to use SHARP OBJECTS ON GLASS. Course, you've had practice.

  • that was cool

  • Aww, thankies sweetied :)

A pity I had the safety glasses on. You haven't seen me without my old glasses after getting LASIK done a while back.

  • And now I have a new excuse to use my fiance's various swords.

  • Remember what I mentioned in the video and in the powerpoint I sent you. Don't wreck the edge of something as nice as a sword doing this.

However, it's a great trick for the reception of a wedding :)

  • Cool vid.

  • Thankies

  • Using a corkscrew on a champagne bottle is also very dangerous. The cork can fly out and bash your hand.

  • The sunglasses make it look like you're trying too hard to be cool.

  • I AM cool.

  • from the works of a professional

  • seems easy but give it a couple tries people

  • Practice does indeed make perfect. You can see my bottle collection on the drawers behind me.
