Bad monkey is the best boost pedal out there, it does not squash your drive, just gives it a boost and fills it with goodness :-). Did you build the Beaver your self or get others to build it?
@jriverband Pretty much everything digitech makes now adays is bad, exept the bad monkey, and the wammy. The old school rack processors from the 1990-1995 was really good!! The GSP-2101 and tsr-24s has features only the recent rack gear has now (Axe-Fx, Eleven, etc). Good rack gear! I am glad I now posess those again after 15-18 years of absence!!
@knikk77 but men, having other great boost pedals, like ibanez tube screamer, or carl martin booster, why you use that shit??!! I tasted the bad monkey and the screaming blues, and they were horrible!
@jriverband The Hardwire brand that Digitech makes is also pretty good, at least the delay and reverb pedals are good, those do not digitize the dry signal, only the effect is digitized. I have those two pedals.
@jriverband I have several other boost pedals and overdrives of good quality; Tone Freak Abunai2, Maxon TBO-9(tube), Boss SD-1, MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe (my fav overdrive, but not that good booster). But i like boosting the bass and the treble not the mids like the tube screamer does. All of the these other pedals I have give to much compression therefore squashing the overdrives that come after it.
Can you tell me how the neck on the classic player 50's feels? I want to replace my current strat neck with one of these bad boys but I dunno how they feel since they are MIM.
I can tell you, as an extremely satisfied owner of the guitar you see above, that the neck is honestly one of the very best necks that I have ever played with. When I first got the guitar, my fingers were practically flying into the correct tab positions by themselves.
And I can also add, as a music forum mod, that this particular neck is gaining serious popularity...
Thanks for posting a chorus demo on a lead sound, i'm looking for a new chorus (i got a MAXON BC-9 but i need one more) and i guess you helped to make a choice, we deathrockers use to use a lot of chorus with distortion, big reverbs and delays...It lacks of "chorus on distortion" demo on the net, i bought a Voodoo lab and i was absolutly disappointed when i played with it...

IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL with lead sounds (sounded like a cheap harsch vibrating flanger but nice with a clean sound), a distortion demo of this pedal would help me to not do this mistake.
sounds really good, I love the EHx Holy Grail! I use the classic version in my peaveys effects loop sounds so great! glad to see im not the only person who uses one,
Im curious though, where do you place your delay in the effects chain of your setup? Thanks!

I bought it already built ;)
I sold it now and use a MI Audio Crunchbox which is great!

MI Audio is GREAT! I have the Blue Boy deluxe and the Tube zone.

Ive been playing a C neck for a year and its just right on my hands, wich are not too big. would the change from C to V neck be too big?
jdcontrol 3 years ago
If you like the C neck, why would you make the change?
iVai777 3 years ago
In case I buy that guitar...wich has a V neck.

nice guitar, good choice ;)

i would try a different pickup setting, try one away from the one your using now, it should get rid of that hum noise
Shwaggetyshfifty 3 years ago
The noise comes from the Crunchbox distortion more than the pichups I think

what does the v neck mean?
fredericiscool 3 years ago

Effects are killing your tone
chojinlord 3 years ago
:D If the CE2 chorus was off, it wouldn't be a video about the CE2 :p
spleenarcana 3 years ago
if you're trying to demo the ce2, then by all means, make a demo where it stands out, and use clean sounds as well
OntZ 3 years ago
Yes I wanted to demo the CE2 on a lead sound. It's quite easy to understand I think... And that's why the title is not "Boss CE2 demo" as well ;)

What is the radius like on this guitar? I'm considering one. Does it feel nice?
thebigbadjohnsmith 3 years ago
I don't know the radius but I absolutely love this neck! The most comfortable I played for sure!!
spleenarcana 3 years ago
I believe the radius is 9.5, the same as an American Standard, except the neck on this is a soft V I believe
YogiSizzle 3 years ago
Also, what distortin are you using in this clip?? Bad Monkey AND the BYOC??
GCD89 3 years ago
Yes it's the Bad Monkey into the BYOC, boosting it :)
But I finally sold my BYOC and don't use my Bad Monkey.
Actually, it's Big Muff + MI Audio Crunchbox ;)
spleenarcana 3 years ago
what settings on you ce-2?
GCD89 3 years ago
It should be 11 o'clock for Rate and 1 o'clock for Depth ;)
spleenarcana 3 years ago
i have the ce-5 pedal, ive never looked back
lynchfan66 4 years ago
Right on! Although the CE-2 is rarer and more sought after the CE-5 is just more versatile with all the same sexy, vintage tones (",)
