Wrong. Idling diesels washes down the cylinders causing excessive ring wear and also clogs injectors. The longer the diesels idle, the more they start to smoke. Engine wear is more than double on an idling engine.

the new diesels (2008+ 6.4l) on fords are designed to cleanout at idle, unlike older diesels they are intended for idling. and why do you say they plug injectors? what causes the injectors to clog, they do they same thing when they r idling as they do when rpms are varying...

It's called "wet stacking," and it's a condition which occurs when a diesel engine is operating way below its rated output level ie. idling. for extended periods of time. Diesel engines operate most efficiently at 70%-80% of their load capacity, and when they are operating below 40% of their capacity, they are overfueling. As I pointed out, this overfueling washes down the cylinders, clogs injectors, and gets fuel in the oil. Look it up.
