It is however a nice video to watch because after all its a cute elephant :o).. Just wish people used correct titles and also accepted they dont know a hell of alot about things and are still learning instead of having a name which suggests they do know alot about that thing and then writing complete untrue garbage about it which makes them look stupid... other than this, good video of an elephant enjoying a stroll.

Its just common practise to move out of an elephants way so to not cause a situation which could be bad and thats all thats happening here. Similarly I would also do this if I was nervous or curious, but if it is narrowed to a field of options we can also look at the fact that all 3 vehicles started to reverse, which could be deduced that the elephant may have made a stomp or mock charge prior to moving closer.

@melodyb1rd Animals, like people generally have actions that coincide with their thoughts.. Odd right? Yes it is speculation that we "know exactly" what it is thinking. But I put this question to you, do you always know when someone is lying? No. Not always. But you can deduce through body language that this person is not being completely forthcoming and something similar can be said about basic actions of animals. To say we have "no idea" what they think is as bad as saying we "know exactly".

@OldElephant100 I agree with everything you say all bar the last part. Elephants can have more than one leg off the ground easily and have been filmed on two legs many times. They have also been filmed in the wild (altho on here probably only zoo etc vids of it) standing up on two legs for what ever reasons the situtation made them do it for i dont know. Anyway the elephant may have been in musth, large rise in its hormones/testosterone levels make it abit unpredictable but yeah he was chasing.

@CarpMagic95 Yes, I agree with you - on my second trip to Etosha I've seen and made shots/videos with running elephants with 2 legs off the ground. I also have read an opinion somewhere that only youger elephants do so, and big elephant over 40 years old probably do not typically run like this.
