They are the most heavily muscled of the big cats, but a male lion is stronger and a better fighter as that is biologically all they are built for. Well that, eating, and mating. There are documentaries of males taking on 2-4 rival males and winning. Male lions might be slightly smaller, but they are battle tanks.
