  • What song is that?!

  • i was at a concert of a tribe called quest once in my life and it was the best ever.

    midnight marauders tour.

  • I love Q'tips music, I'm just sorry I was'nt online weeks ago to leave him nice comments, about his music due to my computer running slow. You have made me overcome my shyness'' I now know that I'm ready to write. I love writing it's my hidden passion.

  • The Renaissance is a dope album.

  • q tip is just a cooldown rapper hes really relaxt not like i am the man like most rappers these days keep on going q

  • 2pac method man redman

    lrical beasts

  • Lupe is the present day Q-Tip

  • What are you people talking about Q-Tip's new stuff isn't that good? Do you not listen to the lyrical genius behind each line? There's only so many lines someone could think of after 20+ years of dropping albums. And yet he does it and makes it damn catchy. You people don't know Art. Real talk.

  • @BrodieWilsonTV

    thats true

  • @BrodieWilsonTV

thats why i think if biggie were still alive he wouldve ran out of shit to rap about. i dont think his career in rap wouldve had longevity like pac and q-tip

  • @msnywoman23 thats the thing the record company knew these people would be sell-outs

  • @msnywoman23 I agree, while you gotta respect Biggie. He was more about style, he swings like a man playing saxaphone (shockG quote) but I personally thing Biggies lyrics were mostly shit. He was making Kanye albums before Kanye was.

  • @Panthersfan105

i never understand what was spectacular that biggie rapped about that people think he was so great. though not every song pac rapped about i liked he had songs that had deep meaning to than biggie. and q-tip. i know this is a q-tip post but i will say pac made me open my eyes to stuff i was blinded to b4. the whole industry , life in general. i was definitely asleep b4 now im awake

  • @msnywoman23 Pac had messages behind most of his songs (not so much the thug crap after Suge bailed him out). Biggy was about style and swagger and was just more about flow. A good video you should check out is the Shock G interview talking about Pac.(clips are on youtube) I believe it was off the 2pac prison tape interview or the biography. Peter Sprier made them I believe...Shock G has great incite on 2pac being the man that found him. Just interesting hearing what Shock has to say

  • @Panthersfan105

i remember seeing an interview on youtube with shock g talking about something that pac said to the judge (i forgot what it was).

  • hey..im probs gonna get ripped into for saying this but can someone tell me the song title for 0:50 - 1:01 ?? if you could spare me the punishment for not knowing it would be apreciated lol :)

  • @respectible Its called "Move" off The renaissance. Don't be afraid of asking a name of a tune anyone who rips into you for that shit is a little bitch. The sample he uses is from Dance Machine by Jackson 5

  • @respectible Its called Move. Sample is from Dance Machine by Jackson 5

  • hey tip your oldschool rap was better.. you on point tip?

    1:04 - 1:35 'A Tribe Called Quest - Scenario'

    1:36 - 2:08 'A Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation'

Not sure what the very end one is

  • @oOchymoOo The very last one is off the Blacksmith Mixtape (Talib Kweli) - "Blacksmith Intro" (Prod. by J Dilla!!)... check it out.

  • @RICO1UK the track int he background is q-tip-feva i think

  • "NEED HOT BEATS? YOUR JUST ONE CLICK AWAY ...

    [POP/R&B/HIP-HOP/TECHNO]

    -NOTEWORTHY MUSIC

  • he is suchhh a yes!!! got dang!!!

  • Damn you know your a legend when you inspired a dude like mos def

  • Legend right here!!!

  • They are two different artist and ppl asshole why do ppl compare artist now to artist then like that yo Kanye is a way different style yo! Like all those artist are inspired from them so quit starting stupid shit man we all know nun of them can be him, like Kobe and Jordan. Jordan is Jordan and everybody wants to be him but never will come close. PERIOD @senorfarqueso

  • love his voice!

  • I am going to try and upload my own rap to Q-tips New album soon. I'lI let everyone know when I upload it. I like Q-tip's abstract kind of flow.

  • love him but he seems a lil bit high !!

  • i use to like this dude, but he let todays fasion and fake ways get to him, the glasses talking different, get real q, we need your old ways back

  • @neatfreeek Nostalgia is allowed, but don't be unaware of the times. He aint different.

  • q-tip you are the best!

  • Hey guys, what is the song from 0:39 to 0:49 ?? I have been searching this album/song forever!

  • @emezim 1nce again by ATCQ off Beats, Rhymes, and Life Album

  • @emezim 1nce Again - A Tribe Called Quest from the album Beats, Rhymes and Life. Hope this helps.

  • Woooooow i'm luvin this!!!! gotta give it 5 stars!!!

I'm a recording artist born in London living in the Maryland,USA.

if you want feel free to check out my music and tell me what you think =)

  • If you ask me tupac did not die as a result of big or east coast but becuz pac said it was ppl from bigs crew that shot him someone made sure to take care of big when he went to cali. just remember snoop, suge, and diddy are all still alive...why is that?

  • whats the last beat all the way At the end!!! i know dilla whats the track name

  • This clip says alot. I wish da whole east coast west coat thing never happened. We would still have pac and Biggie today. And for all u muthafuckas who says rappers are ignorant listen to this clip one more time. Q-tip is a very intelligent person and very respectful. if it wasnt for guys like hime there would be no Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I and the list goes on. So Thank you Q-tip for paving the way. Keep droppin da albums homie.

  • @TheBamaman205 r u serious? wayne and jay aren't even in the same room as q-tip. while they rap about drugs and being on top q has something that the average person can relate to. BIM=bear in mind not everyone sells drugs or uses it and is still apart of hip hop culture.

  • Q-tip is good but he forgot to shoutout J Dilla (RIP)...cause you know i mean...he did make alot of his beats...and didnt get credit for it....and i think some of his beats was played in this interview

  • @FeeldahVibe001 forgot? he has to talk about everyone in every interview?

  • a true superstar !!!!!!!

  • Thank you Tribe Called Quest and Q-Tip for great memories and for a part of Hip Hop that can never be taken away or forgotten.

  • its somthing about him thats soo sexy hes different lol

  • i knoww! he's ...... quaint , and i love him !!

  • I like Q-Tip, hes more universal than Guru or Nas. Guru and Nas are great MC's, but Q-Tip is an artist, he does alot more then they do, that's why I put him on #1

  • Q-Tip - Common - Mos Def - The Holy MC Trinity

  • And what about Tupac - Nas - Guru ???

  • and what about lupe fiasco talib kweli?

  • I love Q-tip. next to common as my favorite rappers.

  • yea kanye not even close, he has to convince people hes great...nothing even close to Q's realm

  • yeah i agree but he was way better in Tribe i dont like his solo shit as much

  • Qtip is the shit! nowadays they got lame ass rappers now on tvs and radios ,thats... just my opinion

  • I like that bass lick

  • mos def, common, lupe sell outs? you need to be re-educated

  • well Common just a little. UMC was wack as hell. But thats just a speck on a clean record

  • q tip is who kanye west wishes he was

  • hell yes, amen to that

  • aight the "voice of a generation" of conscious rap

haahha and not rappin like retard

  • @senorfarqueso i guess thats what a lot of ppl and you wish, not kanye

  • @senorfarqueso q-tip worked on kanyes new album MTDF

  • @senorfarqueso q tip is who we wish kanye west was

  • @senorfarqueso Kanye ain't that bad i think this is unplaced.

  • @senorfarqueso actually, i think kanyes stuff is much better than q tips new stuff. Q tip is a great mind, but he lost his style in his solo albums.

  • tip but fuck kanye

  • sexyass voiceeee lol=D

  • ill keep it moving. you here me one?

  • q-tip is my favorite rapper. Phife is number 2 !!

  • maybe you missed the renaissance and kamaal the abstract. I'm a jazz musician and find that material SICK. Plus he's produced and collaborated with Kurt Rosenwinkle (one of the best jazz guitarists/composers alive). Q-tips stuff is MUSIC not just RAP.

  • i mostly listen to jazz. but q-tip is good music

  • He's called himself Abstract since he came out.

  • I recommend you go buy every album that says "A Tribe Called Quest", "Q-Tip", or "Phife Dawg" on it. It's all some of the best rap every produced, period.

  • @bmantzey Speak on it. These young cat need to get some respect for the Quest, KRS1 etc.

  • @bmantzey AMAN TO DAT :D

  • @bmantzey dont forget j dilla and the ummah

  • what's the name of the song in backround that starts at 1:37 ???

  • Tribe - Electric Relaxation

  • Electric Relation- Tribe Called Quest

  • can anybody hook me up with the name of the first song that playes?

fuckn heard it before but dont remember the name

  • Comment removed

  • gettin up - qtip

  • he;s kinda cutee haha

  • It is ridiculous how talented this individual is. I am in love with him. I've never seen or heard anyone that stylish. that original. that fresh.

  • "They ain't got in 'em to make a classic. These ni**as can't hold a torch, so why pass it?"

  • Love him 2 death ... still taking over the rap game ... Love 4 Life - ATCQ!!!!

  • wow what a fucking dude..

  • he's hot...and can rap! he got it all.

  • What's that song starting at 0:50 ?

  • move

  • ...he has a raoon on his head

  • Shit Man tip looks like hes growing younger. LOL

  • the curious case of q tip LMAO

  • lmAOOOOOo

  • I think that's how he stays fresh

Age don't matter in the booth as long as your flow stay submereged in the fountain of youth

  • he hasn't aged

  • Don't you guys know about the fountain of youth, its in existence and you can see its effects, I ain't sayin no more, those who meant to find out will find out............ :P!

  • he need a video for OFFICIAL OR LIFE IS BETTER those are the bangers but the whole album is sooooo hot i listen every day and i had it for dum long

  • tell Q 2 make a music video on I believe

  • Its "Fever" from Q-Tip's "Live at the renaissance". dont know the sample if thts what you ment!!

  • What is the song blurp starting at 2:37?? i have heard it but can't put a name to it!

  • You better than 99 percent of the what is out there. Rapping about money, hoes and clothes ain't cutting it. Only you, (A tribe called quest), Pete Rock, Mos deaf, De la Soul and jungle brothers have soul. All the others lack the depth that you guys have.

  • and Common, and Lupe Fiasco, and Talib Kweli, and Slaughterhouse (Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, NIckel Nine, Crooked I).....there are lots of real hip hop artists out there still. But I agree with your point that mainstream "rap" today is garbage, and lacks soul and passion.

  • I Agree

  • I agree 100%. I also likwe Common and J5 when they where together.

  • Common is such a Common rapper now, though. It was better when he had common sense.

  • Yeah and less MTV sellout money.

That shit goes strait to your head.

    Dont forget about poetic NAS

    NYC represent!!!!

  • He´s commmmmming to Amsterdam! YEAAAAH

  • when???

  • March 10 in paradiso! After that Peanut Butter Wolf (Stones Throw) will spin :)

  • After all these years, it doesn't seem like he's aging at all!.....

  • Tip and Tribe damn near brought me up from People's onwards... Glad to see he's still doin' it! I hope that REAL Hip-Hop (yea, you know what I mean!) becomes fashionable again, simply cos without the financial input heads won't hear it, I just don't have the time I used to to be diggin' in the crates. LONG LIVE HIP-HOP!!!

  • i love Q-Tip!

  • My top3 favorite q-tip tracks are:

Mobb Deep - Drinking away the pain ft Q-tip

Nas - One love (he did the production)

A Tribe Called Quest - Award tour

  • also produced The World Is Yours on illmatic

  • no thats pete rock lol...

  • He made the remix of The World Is Yours, the original is Pete Rock's

  • The more responsible artist like Q Tip never say what needs 2 b said when interviewed about the Satanic Hip Hop the kids of this generation are subjected too. It's not even worth asking, there opinions are diluted & luke warm. 2 me either u wit the illness or u against it, u can't be on the fence.

  • no not satanic its just now ignorant people like little wayne

  • Ignorance is Satanic.

  • thats pretty deep

  • real talk about divisiveness of hip hop music...

'Thuggin or back-packing'...whatever people categorize them as...

understand though we just saw busta rockin out with tip on the stage...the same way they've done for over 15 years

regardless of what brand of hip hop you wanna spit there should be the mentality of "hey, thats my brother..."

  • 'Thuggin or back-packing'.. I like that!

It's true though. I personally would like to hear more of the latter getting more radio play. We ALL seem to say the same things regarding the rap game, but still we get the same recycled sh*t! Whose buying these records here..?...

  • hey revela and all you other TRIBE fanz did you notice all the classic TRIBE songs they use in the back first 1nce again

then scenario dam this interview is dope

  • yep i was jammin it was like I was a teenager again man. Big Ups to Tip cuz he got me excited about hip hop like I was as a teenager

  • I HAVE TO GO BUY THIS ALBUM!

  • renaissance is a very nice album ...

  • Respects Q

  • Q-tip is a class act. I appreciate how he acknoledged the various strands that exist in hip hop (gangsta and cool). The problem that I have with today's "rap" music is that much of it is so one demensional. It's cliche to say it's all negative. These "artists" are not saying anything. Repeating the same lines over and over with a hot beat is not hip hop. Using the same word to rhyme with the same word is not hip hop. These "artists" may get paid today, but you won't remember them in 10years.

  • forreal

  • well said, i agree with you 100 percent

  • hell yes...tribe is the ish!

  • one of the greatest of all time his album is dope cop it

  • yo buy that q tip album its hot!!

  • A.T.C.Q. is well remembered by me.

    Classic Jams.
