LOL~ Americans still in IRAQ? Why would they move all the forces to IRAQ? Try to get some informations before posting. There are American forces at the Pacific Zone,mostly are located at Okinawa. Gosh. When will taiwan wake up. There has to be benefit for americans to screw around with the chinese. While im sure taiwan can deter chinese attack with american help, what is taiwan offering the united states for her protection? If your answer is defence of democracy and freedom or taiwan will be a fortress to contain chinese expansionism then i will just have a good laugh.

I never said taiwan wants a fight. But im saying independence will effectively re-spark a civil war, and most pro-independent citizens with enough cash are not willing to fight this war since they have other homes. Its hypocritical. But i do admire and respect pro-independence fractions that are sincerely willing to sacrifice their lives.

Most taiwanese I know of spoke boldly about protecting their sovereignty and dare to challenge the military might of PRC when most has dual nationality so they can flee when war breaks out. Quite pathetic. If you really sought for independence you have to fight for it, and not rely on others to help when there is no benefits whatsoever.

No rival superpowers wants taiwan to be taken by china. Not even russia. Wishes are wishes, and you have to evaluate its practicability. Britain went to falklands because they know its easy, but i dont remember them going to hong kong when PRC refused to recognize the treaty of nanking?

uhh...no. The million man march was done LEGALLY. This was not. What's more, the million man march didn't have "Tom & Jerry" like antics at an official ceremony in front of foreign dignitaries -- embarrassing a nation on their "national day".

For some unknown reason my 2nd post is not posted. Go search on Bouns Army match and May Day Protests 1971. People died in Bouns Army march and lots of people getting arrest and hurt in May Day. Just few years ago, people died in Seattle during WTO protest with a lot of foreign officials there (a lot more improtant foreign officials; not like some little island nation from middle of nowhere).
