people are self entitled, usually products of their upbringing. I have no problem calling someone out if they're being rude, but when youre working retail the customers always right...which is ridiculous because they ARENT always right.

I cried and felt so down when this guy walked in and told me I didn't know how to do my job. I had just gotten the job actually and I didn't know alot about it and plus my supervisor wasn't there on that day. He said he would report me and that I should find another job. I think all rude people should just either drown or get shipped off to the moon and leave us be.

Rude people are awful. We need to quit making excuses for them. Such as their upbringing, what kind of day they may be having, and that they may be a customer whom in the corporate world is always "RIGHT." How is being rude translated into, "you'll get whatever you want as long as you act that way?' This type of behavior is being condoned. Not addressed. I'm NEVER rude to someone UNLESS they are rude to me first. Then they act so surprised. Why? Because you think you have the right to treat me

What goes around comes around i also believe this as i have seen it happen! example; The old woman next door 2 me has always seen kindness from my wife & i, then, 1 day she turned real nasty! she lives on her own in social housing and the abuse was bad enough 2 complain to her housing. The next thing she's forced to move out because she's under-occupying! she missed behaved, stood out during social reform and was punished accordingly. I see this alot - there is good out.

As a teenager myself, i do feel everything you go thru. I work in the service industry for a library and it sucks to say that most people crap your day. It sucks more when your boss is abusive of her power(it is done indirectly) and one of the librarian assistants is a major sourpatch herself. I am a very kind person and will treat everyone with respect. I admire your courage to say it outloud.

I was in retail too. So, I feel your pain lol. I always ask that question "Why are people so damn rude??? No one deserves that treatment." Asking that question over and over and over overwhelms me and makes me even more mad because I don't understand it. But....I just tell myself you know what? There are rude people everywhere and there is nothing we can do about them unfortunatly. Who cares what they say and do to us...their the ones making themselves look stupid. :)

People can be mean. Especially now b/c everyone's having a hard time. Retail does suck. That's why I can't wait till I get the job of my dreams and not work with crappy ass ppl like that. Ppl are especially rude to ppl who work in minimum wage jobs. I hate it. They look at you like you're sh*t.

As long as you work with the publick you have to deal with rude people if someone gets to rude with me i just walk away and let someone else wait on them. some people are just rude and u cant change them. like angrywinds up there just a mean person. but there are alot of nice people to. and for the rude ones try to be espically nice to them and that really pisses them off so you get back at them and you cant get introuble for being nice to someone.

i have been in the service industry for many years, mainly i do esthetics, manicures, pedicures, etc i do this to make people feel good, but there are always some rude people, those that are have never worked in the industry themselves so do not know what its like. They can never be pleased by anything and they do take stuff out on other people to make themselves feel better. All you can do is not take it personally, and i will kill them with kindness, usually this makes them feel bad in the end

I completely agree with you... I work in retail also, and it's hard not to become very cynical and begin to despise society. There are just way too many rude people out there... I can say that I am, in most cases, overly friendly and responsive when I'm shopping, but some people just have no home training. Too bad for them, they don't realize what fools they make of themselves.

Thanks for the video. I know how rude some people can be. I was raised to say 'Please' and 'Thankyou'. There seems to be a class of person who considers it ok to be rude to everyone. We have to remember that these 'rude' people arn't very intelligent - I find it helps to humour them!

You are so right, on dealing with the public. Today I was at the park walking my dog. "Small town" My wife was walking ahead of me and I was meeting up with a lady "20 or 30's" coming at me with her dog. Me being friendly and a senior, I said Hi, She said nothing, I responded...Nice day to walk your dog, Again she said nothing..I thought up-yours-bitch...Have a nice day! Its people like that that make you not be nice!

Oh one more think that I have noticed, In european countries that have less money are a lot kinder and you see them always saying thankyou and please within their language to strangers. I went to france once and girls actually helped others. None of them laughed at me, as i can walk a bit gay or something even though im straight.

Yeah exactly, I am glad you travel, it is an amazing experience, you actually find out new people and people who have really friendly outlooks. I mean there are nice people in england but they are a lesser percentage than in other countries I think. I also think that maybe some dont think anymore, people just take things for granted aswell.

Actually, you can return kindness for disrespect. I am not being a "Mary Sunshine" here. It's my own devious way of laughing at these people without angering them.

It's all too easy to return disrespect for disrespect and I think these people expect that response. When you give them the opposite, they usually have no choice but to simmer down or simply leave. You end up killing them with kindness .... and that really pisses them off.
