Can a resin support be made over an alginate mold? I'm using silicone for a final cast, and since it's so pricey I'd rather not waste any making a silicone mold.
Also, you're videos are great. I'm learning a lot from them, so thanks!
>> Alright, so I know I asked this question about the bronze version of this cast, but how much would this resin cast weigh? Would there be a considerable weight difference depending on the resin that's used? And also, what kind of clay was used for the original object? ^^ Thank you!
@TheCrimsonEnigma 1st: weight depends on what type of resin used. You can use foam to make it light weight or filled resin (even with steel shot) to increase the weight. 2nd: I used TexClay (available on our webstore) to make this piece.
I allways keep it away from me when im mixing in the polyfiber and i pull a stupid face as im trying not to breath in the polyfiber as i mix it haha great vid :)

@jekulac Since Alginate is water based and temporary I don't think a resin shell would be a good idea.

Is this food safe?
kylakae 5 months ago
@kylakae The resin is not. The silicone is non-toxic but it has not been rated for food contact.
