  • The things will be right when Greece take back Constantinople. And when Italian republic change it's official name to SPQR :)

    Respect to you!

  • @MrMrJas damn this is so templar (assassins creed)

  • Can you tell me the name of that song?

  • foverh fwnh, apisteyth ermhneia..!! thumps up!

  • People dont be fooled by other nations. We are Roman Empire-Byzantium. I was born in East Rumelia overtaken by Bulgaria. Romans are not christian, we crucify all thieves! The two head eagle is a symbol of the empire and the cross is a symbol of our law. Hail Ceser, Hail Rome!

  • @nomad58oghuz

    Listen up

No one European gave freedom to Greeks. Freedom is not free and this goes for all nations. I am not talking based on my school books but what world wide encyclopedias mention. First of all the battles of Greek war of independence were done by Greek soldiers and Greek generals except the battle of navarino which is an exception. New Turks want to forget the generals of 1821, but i ll remind them again and again.

  • @nomad58oghuz

Greek history begun before Christ's birth and its away greater than the bloody history of Turks. Greek war of independence is enough for us to be proud, as lesson and punishment to Turks and as humiliation of Turkish army... Greek war of independence is meaningful. The names of Greek generals became nightmare of Ottoman Turks who not only admit the superiority of Greek officers over the Turkish officers in the case of Ali pasha but admired them openly with quotes like Omer vryoni

  • @nomad58oghuz

Ottoman empire was empire of Muslims from 10000 races .... but it's better to hide it from your school books to have one Turkish identity for all people of anatolia to keep the integrity of Turkey. Otherwise people of Turkey will care only for their past.

You turks present only the wars you won. But no one Turks wants even to hear the names of 1821 class Greek generals who fucked up your empire with the full meaning of word

  • @nomad58oghuz

You will find none made by me, Mr nomadOGoose !

You'll find plenty of anti Greek vids made by your side,Unlike you I don't take it out on all Turks just because some of your people are Jerks.

here's a suggestion, Ignore them! otherwise you only prove how insecure you are constantly getting worked up over what Niko the troll is saying about you online.

  • @Obasiliasfilosofos

No one pay attention to Turk unless the Turk come to us for troubles... You Turks looking for troubles so there will be always a respond to your stupid acts. I think you have great idea for your selfs and think that Greeks have nothing to do except insulting Turks. Be realistic and honest, take a look who is behind in every aggression

  • @Obasiliasfilosofos Turks proud of themselves? Is that why you're fleeing turkey for germany and other european nations, you ratrace? Fuck turks, they hate their country and love west.

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside

Why are you posting this to me?

WTF kind of name is "Imhornydadcomeinside", are you a faggot?

  • @Obasiliasfilosofos Better to be a pedo than a mongol turk fleeing his inferior county aahahahah!

  • @nomad58oghuz

I don't care if you descend from martians, Your feeding into the cycle hate that's visible here on youtube, this 2011 not 1111!

Can't we just be proud of each of our own heritage without having to be a dick about it??

  • @nomad58oghuz

who is we? You are the descendant of pre-turkish Anatolians your unlikely to have any traceable descent from the seljuks or Oghuz turks. The seljuks were repulsed several times by Romanos and it was only through the betrayal of the cumans and stupidity of Konstatine doukas years before hand did alp Arslan secure victory at manzikert, had the outcome been different you wouldn't be here today identifying yourself those who conquered you.

  • @Extrapower2010 learn some history....constantinople was just a dot among mohameds army..just 10,000 diffenders against a massive army...and dont forget that byzantines hold constantinople for thousand years..so just try to read some history first and then talk

  • @nomad58oghuz Learn some history crap,...

  • @nomad58oghuz Turcks would NEVER take Constantinople if they didn’t get help from Venetian,, NEVER,...

they get a canons and all modern weapons from Venetians.

Who was a Turks before that time, no one, nobody ....no identity,..... but they tasted this weapons back when they come to the Wieners,…..

  • How old is this song am curious? Please let me know the date of this song.

  • @kyriacos40 the song is greek folk song....kleftes and armatoli emerged after 17th century when greek peasants immigraded in the mountains in order to protect themselves from taxes and pirates...so the song must have been written during this period

  • Спасибо!

  • from which album is the song of the video?

  • asiatic peoples

  • Im very proud that serbians were an important part of the byzantine soldiers, and Im happy that serbians and greeks share the same history. Byzantine was a really rich empire and I hope that Konstantinopel would be back in orthodox hands, because it isnt a muslim builded city, it was builded by all byzantine citizens and made to that what it was... from old byzant to konstantinopel, one of the biggest empires of the world

  • @RambofromSerbia Also we and Byzantines shared same music and songs,so this is also song that our ancestors sang. CCCC

@rolandas Thanks for sharing this with us brother.

  • @RambofromSerbia CcCc !!! ;)

  • @IllyrianLion .... the illyrian empire lived at the days of the roman empire...the roman empire conquer the illyrian empire for 2000 years, they killed and slaved the most of them after that the slavs came to the balkans, than the byzantine empire was founded. after that a lot of other nations take control other the region (serbia, venice,..) and the last was the ottoman empire... so i think real illyrians dont live any more.. albania is an multi-ethnic combination like the FYROM and not Illyria

  • @IllyrianLion It isnt proofed already that albanians are Illyrians^^ so you cant say this... you only believe the propaganda which was stated at the beginning of the rebell occupation of Kosovo. No international organization can proof the statemant which was made by the albanian government... And to the point that greeks are mixed^^ albanians are mixed too..

  • Respected, somebody knows words of this fine gallant song?

  • @Diamedful black and poisonous is the life we do

    we the black thieves

all of us wait a war

all of us wait a war, the night shooting

with fear we eat our bread

with fear we eat our bread with fear we walk

    we never change

we never change and wear white cloths

  • @mrspartan32

This is traditional song of Greek parasite fighters

  • Здраствуйте Православные братья!Эта песня на греческом языке?

  • ALBANIANS BORNED FROM ILLYRIANS???HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHA LOL!!!

ILLYRIOS (ΙΛΛΥΡΙΟΣ) WAS KADMOS ' S (ΚΑΔΜΟΣ) SON. KADMOS WAS THE ESTABLISHER OF GREEK ΤOWN THEBES (ΘΗΒΑ).

    GOODNIGHT ALBANIANS!!

  • excelent job

  • What type of garb or hat was the man in the drawing at 1:15 wearing. Thanks for the video.

  • Check this link: historyofmacedonia(dot)org(backslash)ConciseMacedonia(backslash)MacedoniansNotSlavs(dot)html

Comments that allege that there is DNA evidence of Macedonians (not the Slav cultures in Macedonia that refer to themselves as thus) that prove Macedonians are indeed related to the Empire of Phillip and Alexander. It also states here that is was Communistic propoganda that supported the idea that Macedonians were Slavs - hence why even Mac politicians state they are Slavs openly.

  • @Chad01234 the FYROM of today, is a mixed state.... i think the definition of Macedonia could only depend on the region but not to the people who lived there, because this people are mixed, serbian, hellenic, bulgarian and the real macedonian origins people... today we can speak of an multi-ethnic country... I think macedonia could only be by the name FYROM excisted, because the real macedonia of forgotten times would never come back....

  • @IllyrianLion Sure thing man, thats how you get people to believe you by reading a text book written by your government

  • @IllyrianLion No, its called Illyria because its Illyria, not Epirus. Also, Albanians are not primarily descended from Illyrians, I would suspect Croatians to have much more Illyrian blood, and due to so much Italian, Byzantine, Gothic, Ottoman(which is Albanians are Muslim), Albanians are not an ancient people. I am not going to participate in any further debate because you are full of nationalistic ideas full of propaganda. Balkan countries seem to all have one sided education for their people

  • I thought we were in a great debate, why did you remove our comments. I had no anger in that, I just love talking about history.

  • (papyrous larousse britanica)

  • But in reality the hellenization of the barbarian people improved when king of thrace became Sitalkis A(455-424)who expanded his state(thrace)created roads, organized infantry and cavalry and took great part to the hellenization and civilazation of thrace wich had start from the arcaich period.also in the pelloponisian war Siltakis A and thrace was ally of Athens. Some years later Sitalkis died in a battle,a successor Amadokos or Midokos made a greek city the capital of his kingdom.

  • Tracians in the beggining were barbaric tribes(archaic era) but at 7 century bc during the second hellenic colonization many greeks travel to thrace and create colonies(amfipoli, aisimi, galipsos, neapoli, dikaia, byzantio, sistos and many other cities) .so you can see that allready this period there were many greeks in thrace.

  • south thracians were greeks or hellenized people.North thrace remained barbaric.

  • @IllyriansBlood As for the colonies greeks had some in illyria and thrace.but all the clues saw us that macedonians were greek dorics or at least peoples with greek culture. The same count about eipirotes.Just tell me something. Are you so ignorant and you think that greeks came from africa? And something else.Do you know from where illyrians came and were they believed?(i mean gods)

  • but illirians were not greeks dudes.(i think that i know very good history)was a barbarian tribe near the greek land of eipirus.if it is different give me a fact which saw that illyria was greek and not albanobarbarian.

  • @extrememark13 Thrace was Greek, Illyrians were its own tribe for sure. Illyrians did not live in Epirus, they lived in their own region, called Illyria, which is in between italy and epirus, look it up if you want to see. They were not Albanian, or Greek, but simply Illyrian.

  • @ITSKonstantinoupolis i know where illyria was.About thrace now.Thracians were barbarians that started turn into greeks aftr the second greek colonization. But the north tribes of thrace remained barbarics.Spartakos was Thracian but not greek;).i will write more informations about thrace.

  • @extrememark13 Well, Spartacus was a Thracian, and a Greek. Thracians were mixed with Greeks a long time.....they were like Greco-Thracians pretty much. And their culture was very hellenized.

  • @ITSKonstantinoupolis i want to write and something else but it doesn't let me:(

  • @IllyriansBlood Really, ever heard of Pyrus of Epirus.....OWNED

  • @ITSKonstantinoupolis lol don't you know that albanians had almost no history and try to steal some of the greek one. They are just uneducated idiots.

  • @IllyriansBlood Did you read anywhere where Kolokotronis or Botsaris called himself an Albanian idiot? Would you go in front of them and call them Albanian idiot? Or you would run to save your faggot albanian ass?

Fuck! How much complexes of inferioty you have? Kolokotronis was a Greek, and the most nationalist among Greek. He hated Turks and hated Albanians and he FUCKED your ancestors Turkalbanians for God's shake!!! A little respect for your ancestors' fucked asses please!

  • @IllyriansBlood Hahahahahahah.... i really enjoyed the "inferiority complex". I have told you so much of it so now you copy even that in your vain effort to attack the Greeks. End of story: you Albanians have immense complexes of inferiority towards Greeks and because of that you hate them and you try to attack them by any means.

  • Obviously in the first paragraph, instead of Greek it should be Illyrians.

  • You all fools... Illyrians and Macedonians were both Greeks, just cause there is a huge collection of bastard people (mixed in eternity) living in those areas today doesnt make Macedonians, Greeks, or Arvanites less Greek.

This impression is only given due to the current occupants of those areas, who are not Greeks (thus not Macedonians, Illyrians or Arvanites) and try to identify themselves as "Macedonians" or "Illyrians" just cause they happen to live in areas once inhabited by those.

  • @dolippa PRECISELY SPOKEN

  • @IllyriansBlood There is no proof of Albanian existence prior to 1000 A.D. Prior to that northern and eastern Albania was evidently habitated by... Bulgarians... while all center south and coastal parts were Greek. Albanians seem to have descended from what is now Montenegro and Kosovo but even there nothing is certain of their locality.

Original Albanians anthropoligically were VASTLY different to other Balkan people and they only resemble others due to intermixture. They are a recent arrival.

  • ... as for the Albanians liberating Greece this is simply another sad effort of self-depreciating Albanians feeling complexes of inferiority towards Greeks. The Arvanites were Greeks who mostly worked in the Ottoman militia and there ALL Turks were actually Turkalbanians. Just like Gurka Nepalese serving in the British armies spoke English, Arvanites spoke a dialect based on Albanian. Neither Gurkas are English, nor Arvanites were Albanians nor me English because I speak English here. Got it?

  • @IllyriansBlood You clearly dont know anything about what you´re saying, go read some Byzantine Litterature and history records (The Alexiad by Anna Comnene for example) and then come back tell me the Byzantine empire wasnt Greek.

    Greek language

    Greek names

    Greek culture

    Greek religion

    Greek blood

The Byzantines was Greeks, how I know? I´m a descendant of the Doukas Byzantine Royal family, I know, and we where driven out of Smyrna not 100 years ago. Dont come teach me my history, fool.

  • @dolippa Seriously? The Doukes were some of the most prominent Byzantine families! Impressive...

  • The byzantine empire was purely greek, only with small minorities of armenians, scythians, slavs, and venetian/milanese merchants.

Anyone to claim Byzantion to be anything but Greek is a fool without any clue what he´s talking about.

  • adorável

  • great music

  • The Eastern Roman empire.....

  • Beautiful, love it.

  • one word comes to my mind when I hear this..

    BADASS

  • You can see the roman legions essence is left in many of these units..but some are way off:P and btw its not called" BYZANTINE empire" there NEVER was..its called "EASTERN ROMAN EMPIRE"..its just because the east orthodox church/catholic schism, that some catholic historians wanted to distance the roman empires memory from the classical image..

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY my friend I think it was named only Roman Empire , not even ''East'' ...

  • @megasayajinsongoku99 Yes of course, how ignorant of me..I was merely pointing out their origins as "Imperium Romanum Orientalis"

Later of course they went by only "Imperium Romanum" or "Romanoi/Romania" etc..you could even argue that the western empire didnt fall in 476/480,but was reunited with the east..at least nominally in any case...and after that you had "the last of the Romans" Flavius Belisarius..the brilliant general that almost achieved "Renovatio Imperium Romanum"..

  • @megasayajinsongoku99 co9ntinued...In any case ,there was a Roman emperor all the way up to 1453 ,or you can argue the 1460's if counting the breakaway states...

In any case I stand corrected sir.

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY fair enough :-)

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

something last... germans use to call their country "holy roman empire". they were the sons of the goths who devastated the western roman empire, but after a while -when they became roman citizens- they started to use the name roman. were they romans? of course not.

same with us. christians force us to use the term roman (citizen). were we romans? of course not. was our land roman? nope! at least not after 5th century.understand this. with the fall of the western roman empire

  • @kryptia1980 bullshits.. While the Goths were Germanics , the Eastgermanics(Germans) were not ''the sons of the Goths''.. In Germany(Eastfrancia) the empire title was from the Francish Empire (The Francs were a germanic tribe who build a great empire in Middle Europe).

It was only symbolic because of the christian pape and that only he could order e emperor .. The Romans never could conquer the Germanics so you can not compare this!!

  • @kryptia1980 In the east mediteranian the Romans-Latins were the rulers for hundreds of years and they were further the rulers untill 1204 .. Only that in the end of the empire the greek language was common and that the population was very mixed

  • @megasayajinsongoku99 Somebody recently explained to me that the Byzantine empire was the EASTERN Roman Empire that continued after the fall of Rome in 472(?). Well my queston is this: How long AFTER the fall of Rome did the Byzantine Empire exist? I ask you, because you seem like you'd know the answer to my question.

  • @gotch09 The eastroman empire ''Byzantine'' empire existed as state officiialy untill 1204 .

1204 Constaninopel was sacked from the Venedians and french crusaders.

1204-1453 was a period who the civilians tried to rebuild the ''empire'' .

But 1453 was finally the end for the roman empire as the Ottomans conquer it.

  • @gotch09 The empire was basicaly a multi-ethnic state . As the west collapsed , the east part of the empire was yet roman-latin . But with the time after the 7 and 8 century the Romans were mixed with other populations and the official language becomes the greek, who was like a international language in the east.

After 1204 the greek-spoke civilians rebuild a ''roman state'' with a greater emphasis on the greek identity. They also tried to connect their state with the ancient Greeks....

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

-the true roman empire, with racial romans inside- eastern roman empire became greek. simply because its inhabitants were greeks in their magority and they spoke greek as their mothertongue. (latin was used only by some emperors and some military comanders.and after 6th century this changed). and because most of their lands were greek too.

even the latin-spoke emperors, were users of greek language too.

  • @kryptia1980 How right you are--Its a reason it was called Graeko-roman culture.

Even Julius caesars last words are said to have been uttered in greek..About the Byzantine/Roman empire,I heard it best described by john Roman..."the roman empire never really fell,it just went home again" how right he was...I wonder why there are NO movies at all portraying "byzantines" post 5th century..Belasarius conquests on film would be cool..+the last triumph..imagine that:)

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

to tell u the truth, i like romans. they had a big empire. but i dont like them so much after the became christians.

for me, byzantium wasnt a glorius part of greek history, but a dark one...

it was the only time that greeks were forced to refuse their true name, in fear of the "holy aquisition"...

temples were ruined, millions were executed because of religious, the greek way of thinking and our true civilisation died.

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

a nation that gave so much to humanity throught mathematics, philosofy, astronomy, medicin, theatre, warfare e.t.c was forced to live in "silence" for more than 1000 years by the christian church:(

the only glorius in byzantine era (in my opinion) was the defence that byzantium was, against arab, turk, slav, tatar and bulgarian invasions to mediteranean other european lands.byzantium prevented the darknes of islam coming in europe!

  • @kryptia1980 darkness of Islam ??? The Islamic world has amazing culture and it influences in the modern world are amazing!

Did you trink coffee ? Did you you know numbers like 1,2,3... ? All that is of arabian origin... so think again if you describe the arabian muslim culture as darkness ... lol

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

look at rome. the first caesars and emperors were big personalities. julius caesar, octavian august, marcus aurilius e.t.c look at the roman emperors after rome became christian...can u remember one of them? they werent true emperors, they were just puppets of the popes.romans became soft and fool of fear.rome became weaker and the invasions finished her glory. the same in greece too. when the greeks became christians they became weaker.

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

the many invasions from the north balkans and from the east of anatolia, make us more weak and finally the turkish betrayall and invasion destroyed us. i believe that if we didnt live like christians. if we were raised like spartans or macedonians or even athenians, the turks could never occupy greece. do u know that during the siege of Konstantinople 400000 men were monks in "holy mountain's" monasteries?imagine them as army.the end of the turkish siege...;)

  • @kryptia1980 yeah roman empire post christianity was nothing compared to the 1st century imperial rome on its zenith under Augustus or Vespasian..damn even Nero did a better job than Honorius and Valentinian III ..Constantine should have stayed a pagan...

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY

the truth is that konstantine never became true christian. actually he probably didnt believe in any religion...

christian church says that konstantine became christian moments before his death. but after he died, he couldnt answer to that...

they also falcificate julianus. he was a philosopher-caesar and they named it "monster", "killer", "apostate" etc. very sad

  • @kryptia1980 Indeed..

  • @kryptia1980 The inhabitands were not Greek in the majority.... The east part of the Roman Empire was a great part of the Balkan, Northafrica, and modern day turkey and the middle east ... Many nations spoke Greek. This not means they were Greeks. The Romans tried to conquer back Italy because they were Romans while they leave the south balkan(Greece?) to the mercy of slavic raids and migrations

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

    1)the magority were greeks

2)the byzantine emperors that try to conquer italy were greeks from thrace and an illirian. not romans.

3)no nation spoke greek except of the greeks. only some scholars and sientists from foreign nations knew to speak greek. not the simple people...

4)they didnt left greece to slavic raids.the byzantine army was in war with both persia and arabs at the time and the same time we also driven away many times the slavs!

  • @kryptia1980 you are wrong in this. the majority were not Greeks .... As I said the east part of the Roman Empire was the whole Balcan (untill near Middle-East Europe), North-east Africa , modernday turkey , the middle-east , Armenia !!!!!

For some time the Romans could conquer back even Italy and parts of North-east Africa and Visigothic Spain. So you understand that you was wrong about his alleged ''greek majority''

  • @kryptia1980 Further the East part of the empire was colonized from Romans-Latins-Italics and they were also the ruling class..

Many people spoke Greek who were not racial Greek . The christian manuscripts were in greek language , so many christians in the east part of the Roman Empire spoke greek.

you describe the Eastroman empire as ''we'' ? lol

The Slavics ruled the Balkan for more than two centuries my friend and they mix later with Romans and Greeks and with other nations

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

byzantines conquered some nations in the east. this doesnt mean that theese nations became "byzantines".

only racial greeks spoke greek. the slavs for example, who lived under byzantine rule, had to listen the priests talking in greek language every day, but they never understood them, because they didnt spoke greek at all!!!

    slavs never mixed with anyone.

slavs invaded balkans, got slaughtered by the byzantines and then their remnants became christians. bulgarians came

  • @kryptia1980 hallo :-) first I think you know that the name ''byzantine'' is a modern anachronistic name given to the late eastroman empire... A race don't exist my friend . Culture and language makes a nation and generally are nations a invention of the french revolution...

Greek and Latin were spoken in the Roman Empire by many non-Italics and non-Greeks people ....

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

also.the got slaughtered too, they became christians too and then they started to kill us. so we started to kill them too. and after 70 years of wars, they lost. bulgaria was never byzantine land. it was just byzantine "protectorate".like armenia.

the few slavs who lived inside byzantine lands, created the "sclavinies". semi-indipendant comiunities. most of them got killed by albanian raiders, who also got killed later by the byzantine armies.

    slavs never ruled anything.

  • @kryptia1980 The people of the Eastroman Empire were Romans-Italics, Greeks,Thracians,Illirians,Aegyptians,Syrians,Armenians,Slavs, Arabs, Dacians etc. all of them were partly mixed, were Roman civilians, had a roman identity, spoke since 6-7 century AD official the greel language and had a christian religion

You are wrong the Slavs ruled and partly mixed for two centuries southBalkan.... This was after the Arab invasions, with the Arabs and the Slavs the ''polis'' were chanched to ''castra''

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

they were always seperds and poor farmers. and if you read any serius sientific research about the native balkan nations and about italy, you will realise that slavs and turks didnt leave any racial "mark" to us. greeks are greeks, italians are italians and we are relative nations. slavs didnt mixed with us at all.

read about stanford and padova university researches.

    goodnight

  • o mare civilizatie a timpului!

  • Oh, what a beautiful song. I don't understand a word, but I love the melody and the singing no matter what :)

  • Was the Empire a combination of Greek and Roman?

  • The Byzantine empire may have gone but with the help of our Lord it will reign once again and Christians from the east and west will be united again asn one Holy Catholic and apostolic Church .

Holy Mary mother of God , Pray for us . Amen

  • @MrAdel007 i agree with you bro...i hope so that once it will happen...Greece,Armenia and Serbia and more of us must be united... Amen!

  • @MrAdel007 Its called the "Eastern Roman Empire" ,there was never anything called "Byzantines" during their contemporary time..

  • i don't think that these are bizantine soldiers

  • It' masculin. :)

  • Intense music and well illustrated!

  • the term ''byzantine'' is wrong. the right term is roman or eastroman empire.

  • @megasayajinsongoku99 EXACTLY!

  • salute from your Christian Brothers in Lebanon

  • Where do you get this great music?

  • its greek tradisional music : )

  • @Twycross its folk songs of the greek rebels durring the ottoman occupation.

i guess in free translations means "thieves"

  • long live the great greek army.....the army of freedom!!! FREEDOM OR DEATH.... ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑ Η ΘΑΝΑΤΟΣ!

  • @GrJohnblade Too bad the modern greeks have very little to do with the ethnicities of the Eastern Roman army or the empire itself..

  • Anyway... for the record... the first mention of Albanians in Byzantine records is around the 1100 (Slavs were already 500 years in the Balkans, imagine....).

  • Regarding the theme of this video..

I want to know more about the Byzantine soiders and their war tactics. Do someone knows a good source?..

The link for the autor of this video has very little info.

  • The Osprey series are good sources and they have pictures too. just google "Osprey series Byzantine" and go to their website and they have 3 or 4 books there on byzantine armies.

  • @nickpafras

Thanks, i just goggle and found them.

    i will get them.

  • @elnauhual In the Balkans the only old nation remaining is the Greeks. Everyone else, Bulgarians, Serbians, Turks and Albanians are new mid-late medieval times arrivals. They know it and thus in order to ask territories from Greece (cos everyone wants to expand) they need to attack Greek history continuously.

Since the 1990s and the wave of Albanian immigrants we have this problem of young Albanians having inferiority complexes over the Greeks.

  • Turks in their history books simply refuse to even refer to the existence of Greeks in Minor Asia. Bulgarians and Serbians in the past hoped to get the greek land of Macedonia and thus claimed Macedonians to had been non-Greeks. Nowadays both of them agree Macedonians were Greek but see there is always the artificial mix of FYROM that insists on continuing the propaganda with US funds (US policy is to destabilise the region - it has to do with the powergames with Russians).

  • Just like FYROMians claim Macedonia as non-Greek, thus theirs (?!), Albanians claim Epirus falsely as Illyrian (i.e. non-Greek) thus theirs since they falsely claim themselves as descendants of Illyrians - something not true anyway since even a large part of their historians admit that all evidence shows Slavs came in Balkans earlier than Albanians (one has to see the faces of Albanians to realise they are NOT from any Mediterranean).

  • Things are worse since a huge wave of poor and hungry Albanians enterred (illegally of course) Greece to work as illegal workers. The younger Albanian generation that was brought up in Greece have inheried the complexes of inferiority from their parents and feel that they have to do something to attack the Greeks in possible anyway and as it is well known you attack a Greek in his history and culture. That is what they do with all that ridiculous propaganda of theirs....

  • thanks, i suspect something like that, but when you are so far from that regios is dificult to understand the complex relationships

  • @papagamias Truth brother! Greece is the cradle of Europe, mother of the western culture and pride of human history!

  • @ShopingHourer

well, i love and respect Greek history but i think the Greeks must show a bit more humbleness and be more realistic - the ancient Greeks took most of their culture and religion from other people - the Thracian, the Egyptians, the Babylonians...Saying that Greece is the cradle of Europe is also wrong because Northern Europe was populated by the Druids long time before the Greeks, and many of the European nations don't have much in common with the Greeks...

  • @Bulkhan Egypt had influence on ancient Greece, as well as others. But Greece also had a lot of influence on them. You have to know that Greece culture is responsible that we (other European nations) have a letters. Only by influence of Greek alphabet Romans made their. So without Greece we wouldn't even know to read by now. Greek sciences(physics, philosophy, linguistics etc.) was the foundation for all that European civilization has managed to achieve. Even name Europe from the Greek language.

  • @ShopingHourer ancient greece that is,not modern greece, two vastly different people..only thing they share is the name..

  • @Bulkhan

1)the thracians were racial "cousins" with the greeks. both of us come from the pelasgian race.

2)shopinghourer gave u the best answer

3)the name druid comes from the greek name dryad (means oak and generally tree in ancient greece).druids took their name possibly by pytheas in his expedition to the british islands. the name "celt" is also a greek nickname given to this race in the antiquity.

  • i forgot the romans. also from pelasgian origin, "cousins" with the greeks. the name rome is greek and it means courage in ancient greek language. roman historians say about themselves that they were from ancient greek origin and that they mixed up with the barbarian latins from old latium, changing their language too.

  • as for the latin alphabet, it is 100% the greek alphabet of chalkida. in antiquity there were 14 diferent "types" of the main greek alphabet. the one that we use today in greece is the late athenian

  • @kryptia1980 my friend you informations are pseudo-historian, not historian! You read to much books from greek nationalistic fools...

The Romans are Romans , not Greeks lol

the ''pyramides'' of Argos have nothing to do with the aegyptians and they are much younger than the eygyptian pyramides .......

by the way the ancient greek alphabet is heavily influenced from the phoenicicans .....

ps. the divide of the world in Hellines and barbarians were bullshits of the ancient Greeks.

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

1)roman historians and filosophers admited that first romans originated from the greek nation.the "latin" alphabet is the greek alphabet of halkida.

2)byzantines use to call themselves "romioi" because the christians had forbit the use of the name "Hellinas", as a paganist one. the magority of the east roman empire was Greeks.not romans. greeks who where roman citizens.

3)the romans of the time use to call byzantium as "imperatum graecorum".not east roman empire

  • @kryptia1980 no you are wrong.... the latins were latins, not Greeks .... It is possible that the latin alphabet has influences from the greek alphabet , but so has also the greek alphabet from the Phynicians...

The east of the empire was colonized from Roman-latin-italic citizens and from also many other nations...

You can not describe the East romans as Greeks because they thought themselves as Romans....

  • @kryptia1980 The greek language becomes official after 6century and further the emperors and the civilians thought themselves as Romani/romans/Romioi...

That the greek language was very known means not is was a ''greek empire '' lol

Also Caeser could speak greek. Is he a Greek ?

no the Romans themselves thought they were Romans/Romioi.... Only some ather nations described Romania as ''greek empire'' , because of the greek language and that was first after 1000 and 1100 a.d.

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

4)the pyramids of argos and the rest, were built up at 9000 B.C. the aegyptians are 5000 years younger.

5)the modern greek alphabet (the 3rd one) influenced the phoenician one. not the opposite! greeks used it in its full form, while the foenicians only used a smaller and diferent version of it. make your own conclusions...

phoenicians were heavily influensed from the greeks of crete. the colonians in palestine

6)the term barbarians used by my ansestors for the persians

  • @kryptia1980 sorry but you say bullshits .... learn science not pseudo-science...

I live in Argos so trust me I know better than you about this. The small ''pyramid''(if it was a pyramide??) of Argos are much younger in compare with the Aegyptians and you can not truly compare the Cheops pyramide with a 5m *5m ''pyramide''..

No the greek alphabet and culture was influeced from the Phynicians and from other anatolic nations.... All cultures has innfluences from others...

  • @kryptia1980 the term barbarian was used from the ancient greeks for all non-greek nations....

lol what a arrogance... The persian language and culture was amazing and be sure also the Persians did hear greek as ''var var var '' . We hear all foreign languages as ''var var var''

  • @megasayajinsongoku99

initially. because the persian language was to poor and strange and in the ears of the greeks, that language sounded like "var var var.." varvaros was the user of a language that sounded primitive.

KINGKENNYTHEHOLY. we are the biological continuity of our ansestors. and in many things we also think the same way did. but we have some diferences in our way of thinking about some other things...the influence of christianity and the turkish occupation did this.but we will

  • @kryptia1980 of you ancestors ??? How did you know that all your ancestors were Greek ? The south balkan had many conquerors ... Romans for hundreds of years,Germanics , Slavics for two centuries , Italians-French crusaders , and Turks for 400 years and many other small nations , raids , migrations etc etc.

Are you sure that ALL of your ancestors are descendants of the ancient Greeks ?

Maybe you are a Roman, a slavic or even a Turk !!!

  • start to change again. hellenism and christianity are 2 things completely opposite. the modern greeks are raised as christians. a christian thinks diferently. but many of us have started to think like our ancestors. be sure of that.

as for the discusion about east roman empire, byzantines etc... ill tell u only ony thing : TOTUM GRAECORUM EST. Virgil

    goodbye

  • we use to give greek names to many races:aegyptians(aegeans fall), persians (those who take),celts(the observers in the front places of the ships.celt =observer), italians(italos was a greek general), ispania(es pana=in the land of god pan),palestinians(those who fight. pali=restling), e.t.c...

so maybe u dont know the greek history as well as u think...

  • if you read the aegyptian history of their most known historian manethon, he descrybes their firstdynasties. the very first names of their kings were:

helios(greek name for sun), aris (the greek god of war), orion (a greek name for the well known star),iraklis(hercules),apollon(u know the greek god of light),zeus(our king-god),ifaistos(god vulcan),kronos(the father of zeus) and others.

  • also the pyramids were a greek design and holy place of power. the 2 most ancient pyramids in the planet exist in argos, peloponesse and thiva, north of athens.

furthermore, there are lots of hundreds of greek remnants all over the planet.most of them are not well known. for example, a greek mycinae theatre in usa south...greek temples in central america and south asia. a whole region in modern china with a greek name and greek remnants (yunan region),

  • 2 greek ancient tribes still existing in afganistan and pakistan (the kalas) and one tribe in chile (the araokans, from spartan origin)...

in addition with all that, u can add all this that "shopinghourer" said and u will have a good picture about the size of the Greek civilization!
