  • why the hell aren't the rpg games epic anymore???

when i hear the titles ff VI, ff VII, ff VIII or ff IX i start to drool o.o

but hearing titles like ff XII or so, ... deadline fo me -.-

just graphic, no impressive storyline anymore

even the music is SHIT nowadays -.-

no wonder that i'm now playing two worlds II ...

seems like no one will beat ff VII and VIII in story and music (and even gameplay) in the near future... pitty =/

  • aaw I wanted to see the missiles! still it was great to see these videos after such a long time! Is it nostalgia when I say the modern FFs, or even RPGs in general of today don't compare to the ones of the 90s? (except maybe bethesda's fallout)

  • still funny watchin the galbadian soldier get clotheslined riding the bike

  • I liked the characters and setting of VIII, but there are still things about the story that annoyed me. The memory loss thing was pretty lame, and I hated how Ultimecia just came out of nowhere to be revealed as the real villain. I also disliked how some of the more interesting characters in the game, such as Quistis, Ellone, Fujin [RAGE] or even Ultimecia were so undeveloped. Despite all that, and some other flaws, VIII's story is still pretty fun, and I like it a lot more then XIII's.

  • Tbh FF7 was the best, then FF8 and then FF9.All other parts were kinda it is all about graphics and the stories weren't that good.Square needs to go back to the roots.

  • reminds me of the death eaters vs hogwarts in harry potter

  • I want a 7/8/9 ish Final Fantasy...Versus dissapointed me.

  • Galbadian soldiers wielding shields and machine guns...SeeD cadets wielding broadswords, spears, bare fists, shooting magic fireballs and iceballs, sending ground shockwaves with what appears to be lightening magic...all in a brutally messy, yet bloodless and goreless battle. It would be cool if square-enix would make a game that capitalized on this in ff8 that focused on battle strategy, and soldier building similar to what FFTactics and Crystal Defenders had.

  • Quistis is all "GTF off my ship!"

    Very epic!

Me and my BFF high fived at that part!

  • GUYS A LOT OF YOU DON'T KNOW OF LOST ODYSSEY, IT MAY NOT BE HAVE THE NAME OR SQUARES BACKING, BUT IT HAS THE SAME WRITER AND COMPOSER

watch?v=Bn6MQXbn9e0 just watch that for an opening

its on 360 its 4 discs and is a masterpiece

  • I was feelin powerfull at this time

  • Y'know what I just noticed? Balamb Garden only has one classroom throughout this entire game! XD

  • FF7- Fun and creepy, but VERY confusing storyline.

FF8- Better graphics and better music, but still slightly confusing storyline.

FF9- Best of the PS1 games. Straightforward story, classic graphics, great music.

FF10- Great storyline and music, excellent opener to PS2.

    Onward- SUCK.

  • if squall wasn't meant to be a fighter, he should've been a singer in japanese band. just look at him, looks exactly like japanese boyband and or singer

  • 5:21 PWNED :]

  • best ff ever

  • this game reminds me of how great the series was... imo its still the best one yet,

7 was good, 9 also, but nothing will beat this one.... and the recent installments are a joke!

    im ashamed to own FFXIII...

  • Lol, that giant spider was a nightmare. I remember trying to kill it (really kill it) with Queltacoltz and thunder magic :p.

  • FFVIII - Who needs airships when you can have flying battle fortress mercenary schools where everyone has a sword that's also a gun. Not good enough for you?

    Fine..... It fires motorbikes!

  • My favorite game of all time, and a HUGE part of my childhood. But the only thing i never understood, was why there were never any GF's in the cut scenes!!!!!!! i mean seriously if you can use them and u got them, why not use them to fight the Galbadians! it woulda been cool to have your GF's fight the Sorceresses if they woulda made her have some that is. but it woulda been really cool.

  • Foolish idiots hating on different FF's... a true fan of the FF series would see that every FF is great and has its own set of flaws... none of them are for everyone, but they all sure are great (except XIV... that was truly horrific)

  • @yoyoyo88665

I totally agree! Final Fantasy isn't meant for online gaming!

  • @yoyoyo88665 A true fan doesn't tolerate bad games when they see them, because that encourages the company that owns them to keep making the same mistakes. A good fan is not quiet when a game is genuinely shitty(in their opinion). Final Fantasy is what it is today(crap) because not enough fans were willing to rock the boat and let Squeenix know they didn't like the direction the series was going.

But whatever, I stopped being a fan years ago. SE can do whatever, so long as I get a FF6 remake.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 That's YOUR opinion. I personally thought FFXII was okay but flawed, but I think FFXIII is really great despite it having a couple of small flaws and one big one- which is the lack of variety and content in gameplay and that the game is so linear for the first 15-20 hours. To me FFXIII has a lot of what made FF great, just some things are missing. It also does some things much better than other FF's, IMO. They messed up with XII kinda and A LOT with XIV, so we'll see

  • @yoyoyo88665 i disagree. FF12 had more of a final fantasy feel with all its side-quests, extra bosses, unlockables and the fact that it wasn't linear. The story was political and felt a little dull but made up for it with the rest of the content. FF13, however, lacked some crucial stuff like extra content and had a generic story but i can't deny that it had great graphics, good dub, and nice battle system. All in all, i liked 12 better. but that's my opinion and won't bash u on it.

  • FFVIII was bad ass for me.

  • The perfect game.

1: Just started the game, was totally blown away by the initiation 'mission' in Dollet, way harder than beginning missions in today's games.

2: I was completely immersed in the game and the war between the Gardens. Those battles in the field weren't huge for the sake of being big and flashy, it made you feel like you were there.

3: Wowowow from Garden battles to sorceresses to LUNAR CRIES!?

4: Yes! Finally killed Edea! WAIT WTF NO WAY "Insert Disc 2" FUCK WHERE'S THE CASE

  • The music on the Dollet mission owns.

  • My little take on the FF war is that everything after 10 was mediocre. The online game was a flop, 12 honestly wouldn't have been bad if they had just used characters that weren't either annoying or eyecandy, and the only real good points of 13 were the graphics and Sazh, the only character that I actually REALLY liked.

Also, why don't we have rocket bikes? We have rockets, we have bikes...I want to be able to assault a giant flying/swimming school/bomb shelter midair and in style damnit!

  • a great game! with a original history, some fans of the saga doesn't like this game for some critics about the fighting system, i think is good, the draw command was hated, but far away from that this game was the lastest good classical rpg's from squaresoft, until became squareenix, how long we have to wait to see a great classic non lineal rpg? please square go back to the basics!!!

  • FF8 makes me feel sooo much feelings.

Ive cried with this game, ive laughed, ive been sad, ive been happy, ive been worried for rinoa, ive loved her very much too.

This game its the base of my life.

  • love FF8 ever :D the story of this game is sooooooooo good!

want the good old times *_*

  • I liked this game. Only played it through twice but it was good. FF7 is still my favorite. Great storyline (for a game) and character and design. For it's time it had good graphics and a great music. Even though the graphics are dated I could still play it. Stopped playing them after FFX2 ( but I did play the tactics games )as I got a bit tired of them. Great series of games but I can't believe all these nerds are fighting on here about it. You're as bad as those dorks who argue over UFC.

  • I'm amazed though.

Cause I've been a gymnastic since i was 6, and im 17 now.

And I give Rinoa props for holding herself up for a good hour.

Because Zell had to run down to tell Squall (that was like 5-10 mins)

Squall had to think then go up to the 2nd floor (took like 20 mins)

he had to go get the kid, get knocked out of the door, beat the guard up (took like 20-30 tops)

and when he got to Rinoa she was like "well shit dude...I could have waited another hour"

  • I was here!!!

i are relevant, also. final fantasy 13's storyline is like uhm... lame and stuff. =D <3

  • This and ffx was the best :)

  • ff6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 were all my favs, prob my fav games of all time.

considering buying a ps3 just to be able to play them on the playstation arcade.

  • The reason Final Fantasy is so popular before FFX = Hironobu Sakaguchi

  • it's great how Galbadia gets state of the art weapons and resoarces and Squall command a bunch of angsty incompetants.

  • LOL GAMEOVER THEME @ THE END XD

  • anyone else think the seed with the spear just looked plain kick ass

  • FF8 definitely had the greatest replay value of all the Final Fantasies. Its only flaw was the whole magic system. I hated drawing magic for 15 minutes to get a 100 of a certain spell. And I also hated if you wanted to use your magic it would make the stats that you are junctioning weaker. Other then that this game was my favorite.

  • My very favorite Final Fantasy game. Why can't they make something like this for the new generation of consoles?

  • @Gamegirl12345 Because Enix is too half assed to realised how great these games were and just care about gpx and gameplay like FFXIII

  • THE BEST GAME HUMAN EVER CREATED IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE ..... PERIOD

  • oh man, watching this, makes me want to play FF8 again..

  • FFIX, FFVIII, and FFVI were the best in the series, screw 7 and 13, they were insults to the series.

  • The story of this game was kind of weak and cheesy, but I guess if you're into graphics, then for it's time it was great. Still, this one is loads better than ANY PS2 and beyond FF game (I don't count FFXI, which I loved btw, to be part of the main series). FFX was terrible as was FFXII... and I didn't even give FFXIII a chance.

I'm into story and nostalgia... so FFVI was the best IMHO. FFVII and FFIX were great too, but not as good as FFVI.

  • 2:50 and 5:45 were awesome parts of the game :D. It just got me so fired up always watching the older FF games' cinematics, especially these galbadia vs balamb fights! This sure was golden age of Final Fantasies ;)...

  • i think the galbadia uniforms look AWESOME i want one of them

  • is it just me,or is Squall kinda hot? X3

  • @Residentevil31313 Rinoa agrees with you

  • omg this is like the best scene ever in Final Fantasy 8,amazing music, amazing battle I give this motherfucker 1,000,000 outta 5 stars

  • I still say this game has yet to be topped. I hated FF7, and the only game after FF8 I liked was 12. Every game between them was an abortion, and FF13 is the worst.

Square needs to get their shit together. >.>

  • @outlier1985 I didn't mind X, X-2 was ridiculous but in my mind - funny. Though, half-assed by reusing so many assets (they aren't normally like Capcom!)

Sadly, XIII was butchered as I recall the developers making comments that the world map would be brought back and that they were getting lost in it. Then we get that it's going to be on 360 and then no more world map. Optimization for disks sucks.

It's ridiculous that people keep bringing up the X-# Rikku game up as "Final Fantasy XIII" beta.

  • @outlier1985 *Ahems* Sorry, my apologies for the rant - but I do agree.

I hope they don't screw us over AGAIN with Versus and I hope that Nomura gets a green-light for another Dissidia (come on, Seifer Nomura! SEIFER!) once The Third Birthday and Versus are finished up.

  • @pesky0yuna "my apologies for the rant"

No problem, I tend to get rant-y myself, especially about series I care about. :P

With 13... it honestly feels like Square got lazy. I mean, they clearly put a lot of effort into the graphics, but when it came to anything else, they just half-assed it, to me. It felt like they knew anything they put out will sell in the millions, and just took this fact for granted.

They keep claiming HD games make sidequests + towns, etc. too difficult too include. :\

  • @outlier1985 I understand, I haven't even gotten to play 13 and my partner who is just getting into FF goes "Woah. They really dumbed these down. WTF, straight line... straight line..."

VII was no real stand-out considering Capcom's Biohazard/Reisdent Evil was released before it and is of a higher technical standard in terms of graphics, audio and the like. Only did VIII stand up to par with it, IX was fun and so was X.

VII is really undeserving of the hype and annoying fans now... *Sighs*.

  • @outlier1985 Plus, with XIII the graphics were also lowered. Have a look, bracelets and the like have been made sort of blocky, polygon shaped instead of the smoother more circular shape which would require more tri counts for it.

I hope Versus XIII doesn't get the same treatment, if it's multiconsole then we know it's probably going to go down the crapper like XIII.

  • @pesky0yuna don't forget FF8 was from square, and ff13 from square-enix, which sucks.

  • @pesky0yuna It's not just XIII that they got lazy. Do we remember the abortion of a game that was 10? Idiot characters, linear as hell roads, and a really no-surprises plot.

  • @pesky0yuna @outlier1985 You people talk like graphics is everything. The story of Final Fantasy VII was great, better than VIII in my opinion. I mean come on? Garden? SeeD? GF? alright it's okay. But what's up with ultimecia? There are so many plotholes! Laguna is squall's okay. What happens to Rinoa? Why does Ellone have the Time magic thingie? I mean just use Time mag-RF! I'm not Ranting on FFVIII, I loved it! But saying FFVII is crap because of the graphics? come on!
  • @vexen999 I thought FF7 was crap due to the horrible translation, weak story, weak characters and weak villain. It wasn't a TERRIBLE game, but compared to FF6 and FF8? Pfft. I just feel it's overrated as hell, simply because it was the 'first RPG' for a lot of people, and it was the first 'cinematic RPG.' Take those things away, and it's a very average game.

  • @outlier1985 personally I believe Square Nex is more into graphics these days

  • @pesky0yuna

    new Dissidia is already confirmed.

Also, I'm aware everyone is entitled to their own opinion but saying ff9 is an "abortion" and 12 was good is like saying "Dude, Where's My Car?" is better than "A Clockwork Orange".

  • @outlier1985:

    You -liked- FF12?

I don't know many fans of the older games who like 12, but whatever, that's your opinion, I don't mind the game myself, but I don't see it as anything special.

I actually liked FFX, not my favourite, but a good game IMO.

FF7 was also great IMO, especially for the time.

FF8, again: great game, but the sort of futuristic setting wasn't my favourite, and the Junction system was a little different, but I think it turned out good.

Though 13 was shit, I agree, haha.

  • @joshp011 I liked 12 because it was a fresh change on a series that (to me) has grown rather stale. I felt it got a lot of flak for this same reason, while 13 went the opposite way, eliminating all sidequests, etc., in favor of a completely linear game.

As for other entries... I enjoyed 10(though it didn't exactly blow me away) 9 was -okay-, I loved 8 to death, and I despise 7. I don't feel 7 was BAD, just that it wasn't deserving of the hypse it now has. The fanboys are also a big minus. :\

  • @outlier1985:

Fair enough, I had a sort of "love-hate" relationship with 12. I wasn't fond of it at first, started liking it, then stopped playing for 6 months, then got into again...and then finally just stopped playing it about 90 hours in.

    I haven't played 9 yet, can't get a hold of it.

What you said about 10 was pretty similar to me.

I'm currently playing through the last bit of 8, very good.

I really liked 7, but I agree about the hype, I'm no fanboy, believe me. :P

    My favourite is 6.

  • @outlier1985 I like Final Fantasy VIII, VII, VX and VI those are the best final fantasies made, I have no idea why they removed the world map, to me that was one of the defining features of Final Fantasy.

  • @outlier1985 I honestly think its just your personal preference. I very much disliked 12 and 8 took me a while to fully appreciate and still I'm not very impressed.

I think you like the stories that aren't focused so much on the entire band of characters and are instead focused on a broader story right from the beginning.

I have to agree that they are getting lazy and need to make better games but i continue to blame enix for that cause after the merge, only shit came out if there

  • @outlier1985 too bad 13 is amazing...nice try though, and 12 was a piece of crap, and 7 was AMAZING

  • @AdrianXIV Hmm... no. 13 was one of the worst FF games made, second only to 7. In fact, it WAS 7, re-told for like the 5000th time. It was the dullest, most linear, uninspired piece of crap I've ever seen. Say what you want about 12, at least it tried something new. FF13 went screaming the other direction, into pure mediocrity.

And it seems the fans agree, if 13 was so great, why would Square's stock be plummeting so horribly since its release and that of and FF14? Fans have had enough.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 Hm funny again, cause actually their stocks arent plummeting because of 13, its plummeting from 14 because it sucked soooooooooooo badly, and only got a 49% average out of 100, and Square hasnt been doing as well since the release of XI, u cant just blame it on 13, 13 actually sold very well, and Actually 13 was an AMAZING game, the story and gameplay in it were amazing i mean i agree that they shouldnt have been so linear.... Continued

  • @AdrianXIV Square began taking flak shortly after the release of FF13. While it sold well initially, there was a fan backlash soon enough, and there were stories of stores being overstocked with copies of the game because nobody wanted it. They did EVERYTHING wrong with that game, from the linearity, to the re-hashing of the FF7 storyline, to using a freaking Leona Lewis song as the main theme. It is a testament to Square's stupidity in their old age. It was pretty, shiny... CRAP.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 and Tactics had like a total BULLSHIT story, wow u have like no taste in video games, and yeah too bad it sold over 6 million copies, the same amount X and XII did, and they did amazing, they both got a score over 9.2 out of 10, and they didnt copy 7's story AT ALL. it was sooooo original, i bet u dont even understand 13's story and thats why u hate on it, hmm let me think did 13 talk about a company sucking out the planets energy? nah didnt think so

  • @AdrianXIV Tactics had one of the more complex and solid stories of any games that Square has produced. The fact that you hated it, while loving FF13's cliche'd story tells volumes about your mental level. FF13 didn't have to be a carbon copy of FF7's story to be a re-hashing. You have, essentially, a grumpy female Cloud, a cliche'd black sidekick, a hyperactive 'cute' girl, and overblown cutscenes. It's FF7 again.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 HOLY CRAP, are u kidding me i bet u didnt even play 13 because it was too difficult for UR mental ability, i mean if u actually played it u would know Lightning changes in a fast pace from bad attitude too a caring and loving person dumbshit, and HOLYSHIT AGAIN, ur saying Tactics, a game thats been using the same story for every game is complex and solid. omfg, 13's story was 193278307497x better then any FF tactic game, and K. have fun playing pokemon!

  • @AdrianXIV I played FF13, and it disgusted me. Lightning's changes mean nothing, the whole HARDASS to CARING character development path is ancient and cliche.

The FF Tactics games that came after the first one can kiss my ass, the first one was amazing. The rest were pure crap, like most of the stuff Square produces now. I'm speaking purely of the first game. I'll take a story of military and political intrigue over OMG GUYS WE HAVE TO KILL SOME EVIL GROUP any day of the week.

  • @AdrianXIV And as for FF13's storyline... thanks, but I'll take the 5000 objective reviews, as well as my own impressions that say it was nothing special, over the rantings of an insane fan any day.

Once again, if you liked it, good for you. Have fun. I don't give a shit.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 AND WTF u said 7 was the 2nd worst game FF ever produced, ARE U FUCKING KIDDING ME. one of the most revolutionary games ever, u cant even say shit about it, they made all those compliations because it was so popular and people didnt want the story to end. And omfg like all the FF tactics games were shit, all the crystal chronicles were shit, 12 was shit, 9 to me wasnt good, u cant say that 7 was one of the worst

  • @AdrianXIV No, I said FF7 was THE worst, FF13 is second to it in crappiness. And I'm sorry, but FF7 was TERRIBLE. There was nothing revolutionary or special about it other than its heavy use of cutscenes, which no RPG's had done to that point. Strip those away, and you have another bland, average, mid-90's RPG with terrible graphics.

And you're insane, Final Fantasy Tactics was one of the last great games Square produced. FF12 was superior because it was made by the same person.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA OMFG ur horrible, like u probably still play pokemon and think its good, just because u hate when games change, and they try things differently. HAHAHA omfg u do know that the only tactics game that sold well was the one for the GBA and kinda the one for the PS1, the PSP ones sucked, seriously they hardly sold, omfg really ur saying FF7 sucked, it had a story, intriguing characters, and it was a funnnn game.................coninued

  • @AdrianXIV "just because u hate when games change, and they try things differently."

You're not listening. I enjoyed FF12 BECAUSE it did something different in a very stale series. FF13, instead, was complete cliche'd crap, with nothing special about it beyond its graphics.

How well a game sells or how popular it is means little. FF7 is popular because it was the easiest, most accessible FF to that point, with shiny new graphics. This attracts sheep who proclaim it OMG THE BEST GAME EVER.

  • @slightlyoutofreach01 HOLYSHIT ARE U KIDDING ME 12 had NOOOO ORIGINALITY, it was just another Tactics based game, because they both shared the same setting and ideas, It was just like that and the older FF games that just had the same story over and over again, oh and 12's characters were so bland i mean the main character, Vaan, was in no position to be a main character he had NO special story, and the plot of 12 sucked, 13 HAD AN AMAZING STORY omfg it was such a complex and detailed story

  • @AdrianXIV Honestly, I'd rather agree to disagree with you on this. You're not going to change my mind, I'm not going to change yours, and I said all I needed to about FF13 months ago. And I'm not really interested in filling up pages and pages in these comments with a debate that does not interest me. If you had fun with FF13, then fantastic. It's good SOMEBODY liked it. I, on the other hand, will continue to hope Square gets back to good games, and will take joy in their failure until they do.

  • @outlier1985 your kidding right. 12 sucked ass. X was by far the best. the only reasons people hate 12 and 13 so much now is with 12 it was the crap ass battle system and with 13 no side quest wuupydo.

  • @goldfox177 X was almost as linear and sad as 13. It was an okay game, but once again, not compared to other Final Fantasy titles. I personally enjoyed 12 because it was actually DIFFERENT, in a series that is very, VERY stale by this point. People hated 12 because it was different, I hate 13 because it's all the same again.

The battle system of 12 didn't bother me in the least because I'm used to MMO's and games like Knights Of The Old Republic and Dragon Age. And that's what FF13 used.

  • @outlier1985 I agree to everything you say. Personally Final Fantasy 9 will always be a favorite of mine...but there is something so epic and so intense about the Final Fantasy 8 storyline. It is the best.

  • @outlier1985 I have to disaggre with the FF7 mention, but beyond that I totally agree.

  • One the best battle cut scenes when they storm the beach. The music was epic!

  • 5:15 extreme pwned by Fira xD and the thing at 5:31 looks like a TIE Fighter from Star Wars 0_o

  • @SmoshRules55 The Square staff are well-known to be HUUUGE Star Wars fans, so they do pop in references a lot. XD

  • @pesky0yuna Hence Biggs and Wedge (who are at their funniest, IMO, in this game). :D

  • @pesky0yuna I Hope the games get better again...sorry but after 10 was every ff game pretty much...lame. 13 was MUCH to linear in the beginning, and whats with 12? omg Crap fighting system :o

    Only good thing: DISSIDA *_*

  • @Krati08071995 If all anyone has every played is JRPG's, then I can see why they see FF12's battle system as 'crappy.' But as someone with a lot of experience in Western RPG's(aka, the only good RPG's still being released today), then it's not such a huge shift from ATB fighting or whatever else. Bioware's RPG's use this battle system exclusively.

  • leave it to Squaresoft to make cinematics 15 years ago on the ps 1 that could combat many games today for graphic quality.

  • 1:05 -

Ship1: BARRICADE! TAKE EVASIVE ACTION! RIGHT! RIGHT!

    Quistis (Ship2): ...ramming speed.

  • Wow nice editing

  • those students you are talking about are mercenaries in education

when their training is done their are called seeds, who fight against witches and so on...

  • I remember the beach raid. There was something epic about having to run away from the giant spider. Made you feel a little more helpless not like great heroes from the get go. This game showed some great character progression as far as the story goes. Wish I still had it cause now I wanna play again 8(

  • 2:00 = why Quistis is a BAMF.

Final Fantasy 8; the last truly great Final Fantasy ever.

  • @outlier1985

    i think 9 topped it

  • Dang if this were a movie trailer I would think Squall died.

  • I dont understand why Balamb had students (zell, squall selphie etc.) when Galbadia had kind of soldiers (the blue ones and Wedge, the red, at the tower). Its like kids vs. adults no?

  • @MrLemo45 Balamb is the main base of SeeD, those wishing to be candidates from Trabia, transfer to Balamb.

Those who fail the test and/or wish to remain at Garden after a particular age must either become an instructor OR enroll within the Galbadian Army.

A few of the students discuss it in-game. A lot of the soldiers are the characters ages, so it varies.

Blue are standard soldiers (Wedge), Red are the commanding officers (Biggs) and green are the Paratroopers.

  • @pesky0yuna Well thank for the explaination sir. =)

  • @MrLemo45 Also. At that point in time, the galbadian army had taken over the galbadian garden, so naturally their forces were mobilised there. The actual students of the garden had opposed the army (which is why there 3 or 4 inside were helping you out).

  • @MrLemo45 actually its because in all fantasy games anyone wearing a uniform with a helmet is automaticly a bad guy. on the flipside , teenage who dress in custom outfits are the best of the best fighters and able to defeat soldiers who have been fighting there whole lifes even tho the kids only 15-20

  • @MrLemo45 that. what pesky0yuna said... and edea was kind of in charge of the whole freakin galbadian army. so yeah...

  • honestly i really wish we had schools like that. it would be badass thing lol i would love to go to a school like the gardens. lol

  • i love at 1:29 how zell runs :P

  • at 3:40 -> would be hilarious if they missed the hole xD *SPLATTER*

Anyway, Galbadia Vs Balamb = Awesomeness

  • @thelyrons XD Indeed, but with the angle/height difference evened out with the rocket propulsion... probably one of the coolest cutscenes regardless.

Though, if anyone was to splatter - it'd have been more likely, that Squall and Rinoa would have. XD

  • Galbadians? In MY Garden? I think NOT!

  • now THESE are the kind of cutscenes you EARNED by progressing through the game, instead of every 20 steps you took

  • @ShadowCrowX Indeed they are.

I'm going to upload HD, and slightly remastered versions on my new account - Enetirnel soon.

  • Funny thing that , Squall can do Limit break on the "Spider -robot " things, look way more powerful then the glazing gun but the gun kill the "spider-robot", Limit break cant

  • My favorite part in the game was when the Gardens were going at it. SO EPIC!!!

  • @ronvins Yeah, it was epic! I agree mate. XD

  • Nice work !

  • 5:20...LOL I don't mean to overuse the phrase, but that dude on the motorcycle got OWNED.

  • @masamune2984 Indeed he did, so did a few others - but seriously - they aren't that strong and it's funny that a NORMAL Cadet ganked him off the bike. XD

  • 2:33 so that's where FFXII ships "ring" propulsion concept came from

  • @FantomOmega Actually, that idea has been floating around in sci-fi and fantasy designs for a while.

Although, XII is heavily inspired by Star Wars (which has always had multiple references to throughout the series). I'd just take the Galbadian Para-Soldiers hovercraft design as a grain of rice to XII's designs.

  • I would never have enough gut to jump on balamb with a motorcycle xD

probably with the robot, but not the frigin MC xD HAHA

  • @oly355 I always thought that was epic, I'd do it on the motorbikes. Mind you, those things are pretty enhanced, rocket-propelled FTW.

I've always wanted one of the Galbadian motorbikes. XD

  • 1:28 lol how zells running

  • This is brilliant for some thing that was just put together............. I love how it ended with the parade scene and it plays the game over music during squalls death...... *sigh* love ff8....

  • Thank you.

Personally, I could remake this with a lot better editing now.

    But with that ending, I had to do it - a lot of people thought Disc 1 would be like that. >_>;

  • Oh I have always loved this game, the first Final Fantasy I played, 5:22 love how that soldier gets hit off his bike. also I love 4:29 where another soldier gets blown off his bike via magic. A truly epic part this.

  • You are the new jeasus

  • this theme still rocks after all the time

  • Absolutely, it's such fantastic composition by the God of FF Music. Admittedly, my favorite FF soundtrack.

  • How'd you get the Cutscenes without the characters? Epic Video by the way

  • Ripped the pre-rendered Full-Motion Videos (FMVs) for short directly from the PS1 version.

Of course, you can capture the cutscenes with the characters during normal gameplay, OR via the Debug Room which will also allow you to view and capture the FMVs using a capture card/device.

  • GREAT VIDEO!! thanks! it was very entertianing!!

  • Not a problem.

  • @ 5:21 looks like squall with his gunblade out

  • It's a standard Balamb Garden student with a standard issue virbroblade that the Galbadian Army is issued with and/or sword.

You can see a similar weapon on the floor of the Tomb of the Unknown King.

It only looks like Squall due to the older lower quality of the footage.

  • Or could be a easter egg. But I do see what pokemonpokemon's saying. The collar, and the blade look alot like him, just till you see the logo thing on his arm.

  • the part where he got spabed by the ice crystals made me cry really that was sad to me :[

  • balamb garden is ok against galbaidia´s, but for galbaisias fortune theirs dont suck arse. and OMG!!!! its the biggest zit in the world, take it away!!! (that must be what it looks like when god blows 1 to bathroom mirror XD)

  • The Fight scenes between the Balamb students against the Galbadaian Soldiers was VERY EPIC!!

I always remember getting Fired up when I play those parts. It makes me wanna be in that scene and Just kick some ass with my choice of weapon! It's just so Intense that it feels like you're getting absorbed in the events! That's what a great Final fantasy game would do to yah!

Sorry for sounding like a war freak but I just love the feeling of an all out riot...

  • @GlOCOsk8er well....errrr....DITO!!!!!!! XD

  • @GlOCOsk8er I know exactly what you mean, you couldnt have said it any better, my second fav Final Fantasy game.

  • @GlOCOsk8er hahha! you're funny. but i like how you went all out just now. I agree with you very much

  • @GlOCOsk8er

"but I just love the feeling of an all out riot... "

    Who doesn't? :)

  • @GlOCOsk8er you like blowjob???,

  • i love your montage and choice of music, it was not too much as is always the case in this kind of video.

  • Essentially, I decided to go with the music for the actual cutscenes (just didn't loop the themes as they would be played in the game) and only switched some around slightly.

I prefer having the original, than a song in no relation.

    So, thank you.

  • damn the lunar cry was awesome!!!! i also love the scene where quistis is putting holes all over XATM0 (the spider)

  • Yeah, sort of my favorite sections in VIII.

And Quistis using the SeeD ship machine gun on the X-ATM092 is cool.

  • pedazo d video!

me entran ganas d pasarmelo d nuevo :D

  • 5:23 - The dude on the bike got whammed. =D

  • I wonder what hapened to Galbadian Garden after the fight

  • Yeah thats the awesome part lmfao XD.... I love how he's just like "SMACK... pwned" XD >.>;

  • o diossss cuanto añoro este juego

  • cuanta nostalgia jajajaja ase un putero k lo jugue

  • guy getting knocked off the bike gets me every time >.>

  • the monster falling from the moon was really cool....

  • LOL!

  • excelente niceee

  • the film should of been like this!

  • Is it just me, or does the jetpack Galbadian soldiers deeply resemble the Magitech warriors from Final Fantasy VI?

  • A bit. the ingame ff6 Magitech armor does look similar except in those the character sat inside the main body section of them (and the cutscreens they are more of a metal dinosaur than anything else)

  • I have owned all the FF games up to X-2

because X and X-2 were just that dissapointing.

  • squall is badass, zell too

  • Quistis vs XT gave me a hard on xD

  • That dude with a spear at 5:08 is awesome.

  • final fantasy 8 is mint love the bit at 5:20 when the guy rides past only to get hit by the sword well funny

This video ace congrats for making it

  • pretty awesome video you made here

  • and all the best weapons...n we'd really just be using auto-haste/reflect/ aura for the limit breaks..... would be a bit pointless really. The only way to it would be to start at the same time n see not only who completes the main game first but acquires everything on an ff game. 9 wud be a good tester coz you gotta get to memoria within 12 hours to get excalibur 2 but that wud make it vvvv tricky for ozma n the chocograph quest (which you need to do to get the rest of the weapons...
