the flag is apart of american history but, it represents almost the end of our present country and to think of it knowing what I know now of my government I think that they are assholes! while the north did want to make the blacks free they still werent really free were they until sometime much much later! The south however was really inhuman towards blacks and if the southern cross represents that I don't know if i would be proud. BOTTOM LINE our government sucks "fascism"

Yes it is a Confederate flag at a government building (specifically the South Carolina State House)...flying at a Confederate monument and not actually above the capitol itself.
Personally, a Confederate monument is about the only place putting a Confederate flag makes sense in a way...no different than putting a British flag at a monument for British Soldiers who served in the American Revolution of War of 1812, or the Mexican flag at the Alamo with the flag of those who defended it.
naacp has boycotted SC 4 yrs bc of the flag i love it but where its at is the Confederate Memorial it was on the state house 4 yrs the news stations made a big deal when they finally mooved it there that was a sad day 4 SC

Those who believe it is a sign of hate are ignorant of history. I am the great great great grandson of a confederate veteran.
