  • speed of sound is not the same at all altitudes or temperatures. The plane probably has a large tail wind hence its very fast ground speed. Its TAS would have been 280-320knots i should imagine?

  • 1064 kmph ? wtf its allmost soundbarrier.

  • @MrRevolution53

I have another vid with AA doing 1244kmph.

  • @ken92660 What kind of plane is it , a 777 ?

  • @MrRevolution53

    Indeed, a T7.

  • @ken92660 1244km/h is 8km faster than the speed of sound o.O

  • @MrRevolution53 We often fly with 737 and never exceed 840 groundspeed !

  • @MrRevolution53 It's the ground speed, not air speed.

  • @MrRevolution53 It might be possible that the aircraft had a moderate tailwind which caused it to travel at that ground speed.

  • 661 mph GS.

    Quite the tailwind.

  • 1064kmph! cool!

  • i wish one day i could viisit japan... u.u

  • This video brings back so many memories because I flew on JAL from Narita Airport in Tokyo to JFK Airport in New York. Looks like they use the upper Arctic circle to save time.... combined with those speeds they are sure to arrive to their destination on time. WAY TO GO JAL !!

  • That's a nice push from the jet stream.

  • Yeah, that was a quick flight.

I'll be flying the same route with JAL on Fri, scheduling to do the same filming.

  • Alright,hope to see it soon. :)

  • I got the vid on my way back to JPN and I'll get it going by the end of the weekend.

  • was this coach class on AA?

  • wow u guys were really movin! 661 mph! dang! :D
