i had this when i was four years old and the doctor said i couldnt play play any sports and the sport i always wanted to play was football but im never going to be able to play that sport

My daughter had this when she was 3 and is 14 now. It wasn't VERY serious when she had it but has since been diagnosed with Diabetes type 1 and coeliac disease at age 10!! I wondered if this had some connection?

i had this disease when i was 11 years old. i was hospitalized for one week and was sick for 2 weeks. it got to the point where my whole body shut down. i remember hilusinating alot because my fever went up to 109 degrees. worst experience ever.

I had this disease when I was around four. They had no treatments for it when I had it because it was too late. I had one of the worse symptoms the hospital had ever seen. I'm sixteen years old. 6"2 230 lbs and playing football. If your child has this disease don't lose faith.

@taikaliso357 Doctor said I wouldn't be able to play Football ever. He was wrong I am 6"1about 240 and I played Nose. . . .I was a beast.

My son had this disease when he was four, but now he's turning to seven and he's alright, thank God, but my problem is, can this disease cause what they called "ADHD"? Because I observed that after treatment of kawasaki, he is so very active, i mean hyperactive... that's the good one, but the bad side is poor in memory.

I also had this, and also got stabbing sensations, especially in my lower back. Had it at 14 though.

@fiakittyy Does it still affect you now? I have it aswell but i took meds called dira something i forgot what it was called but i stopped for like a full year now and i dont think it changed anything since i stopped, id just like to ask if you still have problems even now. Thank you.

i went to camp with a girl who had this. she had one of the atypical cases where the doctors couldent figure out what it was for a while and so it messed up her heart to the point where she needed a transplant. she showed me her scar and pics of her in the hospital. she said she was glad to have gotten it and be alive but sad because she has to live with the fact that someone had to die for her to live . she said her doner was a 6 year old boy she she met his family. she was 4 when this happened

Its a well known condition and is being taught in all Medical Schools Diagnosis can be challanging in atypical cases bu h/o fever for five days (unknown origin) in an irritable pre school children is highly suspicious of this condition.

I had this when i was 6 and my mom went to the doctors a million times and didn't know what it was. It was worse than this and that night i couldnt walk. A doctor figured out what it was and he said i had a 90 percent chance that i couldve died that night or the next morning. I am alive and happy. I am still aiming for my dream(:

I had this when I was six and I remember every part of it. Especially when they gave me an unnecessary spinal tap because the doctor had no idea what was wrong with me or what else to do. He told my mom verbatim "He's as good as dead". Then later some miracle of a doctor came in, knew exactly what was wrong and now I'm a perfectly healthy 20 year old. Gosh I wish I could thank that guy.

My brother had this disease when he was just 2 months old, and I was just 5 that time.. He had cracking of lips, and etc. We almost lost him, if my mum didn't pinch him persistently to keep him crying, he wouldn't have breathed, he would've died on the boat (when they were going to a more extensive hospital). Well now, he's turning 12 and as healthy as a cow, and the only brother I have.. :)

Hi my name is katrina. my 1 year old son was diagnosed with KD on january 2010.first time the Dr told me what my son had i felt like my heart suddenly stopped.

my son had all the symtpms and was diagnosed late.he had cracked bleeding lips,peeling on the hands and feet.red eyes,swollen purple hadns & feet..he had IVIG...and 24 hrs later my son looked so much better..unfortunately he has 2 damaged arteries in the heart,but is doing well.

hmm... i had this disease when i was five as well. I had an 89% chance of death :( So now I don't take shit. I had wors't case scenario. Brain frying levels of fever. And I'll be damned if the swine flu does me over. If this was in Quebec; chances are that i was the earlier case. I hear that they have catagorised this as a type of lukemia- white blood cells being killed by red blood cells; seems like the 1930's racial transgresion doesn't it? :D

@swcwcc had this exact same prob but i was born with kawasakis disease and i had three main arterys like ballooning and they easyly couldve poped and i could of been dead the still dont kno if some parts are functioning correctly i had a stress test done and all all my scared tissue is all healed up and im only thirteen years old truthfully from wat my mom told me was that i was diognost with it D: fukin stupid ass docters

I had this disease when I was 6 yrs old and remember having other complication like my eye's were yellow and nails were peeling, and skin shedding:( I don't know if this had anything to do with the heart murmur but I had a hole there too:( as time went on i was very athletic and manage to survive a healthy 37 yr old:) i was also given an expiration date but thank GOD!

i had the kawasaki when i was 2 years old and it left a hole in my heart. they gave me an expiration date and said it was nothing that they could do. i am now healthy and well today because of some man who cured me. i am so happy that he saved my life

Nicky kudos to your recovery and live long and prosper! your story is very inspirational.

I myself am a survivor of the same disease when I was 5 or so here in Cebu,Philippines. Though I recovered from it, the disease left a hole in my heart and I was given until 12yrs. old to live, I'm almost 28 now and am in the best shape of my life.. cheers to us!
