  • This video and song are great. It is song that pulls at your soul and deep into the feelings of life.

  • @sartainja Thank you! You can get this song as a free download from "Old-time Radio" on the internet. The website is at the bottom of the description. Have a nice weekend!

  • Very high quality work you are doing here, lots of value. I appreciate your depth of research and attention to detail.

  • @vivatones66 Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I really appreciate it!

  • On this recording of the song, Ralph Stanley is joined on the vocal by Valerie Smith. Other "Clinch Mountain Sweethearts" on the CD of that name include Iris DeMent, Pam Tillis, Patty Mitchell, Gillian Welch, Dolly Parton, Maria Muldaur, Sara Evans, Joan Baez, Kristi Stanley, Gail Davies, Chely Wright, Melba Montgomery, Jeannie Seely, and Lucinda Williams, all singing duets with the wonderful, venerable, awe-inspiring Ralph Stanley.

  • @rongreen2 That's quite a lineup of talent! Thank you very much for the information.

  • I never heard this song but really loved it. Beautiful video again sweet Cheryl!*****

  • @mountain824 I never knew this song, either, until very recently. Thank you, Maria! Your comments are always appreciated. Cheryl xx

  • the perfect marriage of music and pictures.

    fantastic job cheryl.

life may have been simpler back then, but dam hard.

  • @kate4ever1 Thank you for your kind comments, Dave! I wouldn't mind "time-travelling" back for a visit, but I'm sure I wouldn't want to live there.

  • I liked the music, but especially the pictures. I love the last Century before ours! Life was so simple then. Heroic, hardworking people, trying to scratch out a living. But, it was a lawless and dangerous time too! The only law was at the point of a gun! Hahaha. Great video! Brian.

  • @LoveMattersMost I love these old photos and the times before our own, as well. I guess people back then had to be pretty tough to survive , though I imagine it's the same kind of "grit and steel" they showed during the Great Depression in our own century. It's amazing what people can do when times are tough. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheryl
