Anyway, it's just as fast as any normal dashing crossup, so I think it's useful in its own way. It is hard to pull off though, you have to be lucky enough for your opponent to be crouching while you attack with a jump in.

As a Gen player, I was confused about what you said, because afaik Mantis U1 puts him in a standing position. So I ran to my AE PC version (so no 2012), and tested it on standing Gen. It works midscreen. If you are at the maximum activation distance of cl.st.HK tho, it doesn't cross.
