  • i got my first pair of toms for 35 dollars <3

  • if his name is blake mycoskie why are they called toms?

  • @iamthejocelyn Toms as in Tomorrow

    Shoes for Tomorrow :)

  • best shoes i ever bought. they make me feel good knowing that i helped someone who needed them more than i do :)

  • Sure bering barefoot is the best thing you could do for your feet but sometimes its nice to have a pair

  • why do people have to put negative comments? Who cares HOW he's helping these kids, we should care that he IS helping them! For crying out loud if you have something negative to say about a man who makes great shoes, brings awareness and helps kids you are just a sad individual. Go Toms Shoes!

  • awwwwwn dudes// ;,)!!!

  • light up the darkness

  • i want to get some.

I went to Catalyst this year and he inspired me DEFINATELY to do something like this. I love what he is doing with the shoes and sunglasses. <3

  • @Eichhorn95 im saving up for a pair

  • @PhantonChakra really?? think about that...theres not a different way you can use that $60 to help people over there? ITS A BUSINESS!

  • @bungalsfan87 i know, i meant that when i get money i will buy one pair.

  • I hate the knobby bit on the toe

  • I dont know WHY HE DOESN'T FRIKING SAY THAT ITS NOT A MATTER OF " Flying with 100 & something shoes" and that "Suddenly" it will appears in the NYC times out of the blue!! He's not poor, he has connections & on behalf of his inspiration to help he CONTACTED all the important people his money & inheritance allowed him to tell about this great idea....I think its so unfair to keep selling "the magic" of telling common people that projects like this come out of NOTHING!! when is not like that!!!

  • BEST SHOES EVER!!!! I LOVE THEM

  • I just bought a pair, I need to help more children in need.

  • i gona get kicked out of school because on monday im walkin in barefoot !

  • im goign to buy about 1000000000000000 pairs now

  • Toms rocks!!!

  • does it matter how much the company pockets, or how much it costs to make these shoes or whether all of the money could go into a different charity? A child WITHOUT shoes is getting a pair in the end, and that's all that should matter. period.

  • I wish this video was uploaded in a way that doesn't pause the stream. I'm trying to watch on a brand new mac w/ high speed DSL...

  • just got mine in the mail yesterday and i adore them <3

  • what a beautiful story I'm gonna go buy me some tommy hilfiger clothes

  • they need to make a movie about blake. inspiring.

  • Even though they arn't the most comfortable shoes, they make do. It's a sacrifice of your comfortability to give a needy child a sense of thier own comfortablility. I would say, "put yourself in thier shoes", but the fact of the matter is, they don't have shoes. Why not give up the luxury and share your love to someone who needs it. I love this company and I love what they do. You guys are the best.

  • Got a pair, actually hate my toms.

  • just bought a pair! <3

  • im a guy and i have toms :D

  • I love my Toms <3

  • its nice to know that a poor kid in argentina is now rockin the same pair of rad toms that i just bought

  • Got two pair today.

  • WHERE CAN I FIND A PAIR IN DUBAI?

  • I'm getting a pair.

  • Just bought them today. I feel happy for like 6 things. 1: when i bought them, another kid got a pair! 2: They are EPIC 3: They are comfortable to walk with 4: Match with all my outfits 5: They Make me happy 6: I LOVE THEM!!!

  • How can you say it's "alien" all these other shoe companies pocket all the money! They don't give back like Toms does, yeah their making money but Blake still lives in his apartment working everyday on these ideas and he hires so many people to make this happen.

  • just bought a pair today. I love them!!!!!

  • Charity is a great cause indeed. I have just learnt about TOMS shoes today however when I checked their web site I couldn't find their financial data. For example how much does Blake Mycoskie make from TOMS shoes? Yes, the company seems to be giving 1 for 1 shoes to kids however are they also making a lot of money for their own pockets? If yes, then this speaks to me as another marketing strategy. Sorry, advertising ones charity work is alien to me.

  • @kahraman who cares how much he makes? he's a business man who is philanthropic as well.

He's making money, customers get great shoes, and kids get to have shoes.

    Win win win

  • “Had I known the full extent of Tom’s beliefs, I would not have” ever spent money with his company.

  • 3 dislikes?!?!? are you crazy!???

  • I think this is awesome! :) I got my first pair of Toms today! :) glad to know someone else will get some too.

  • you are an amzing man! got my first pair of toms today :) i appreciate this movement so much!

  • nothing to say but boss

  • How ungrateful those who chose to dislike this...What do they have thanks for I ask myself?

  • This video made me almost tear up :( I'm glad I supported some children by buying Toms .I will probably buy more some day;)

  • i just bought my red toms today! I just gave a new pair of shoes to a child in need.

  • I think what you are doing is amazing. I volunteered in Durban, South Africa for 3 months in 2005 and saw the need of shoes, education and better health care. I felt so helpless at times, but you have brought an incredible opportunity and empowerment to those children. God bless your heart.

  • I must say that this is the worst display of entrepreneurism and capitalism in America.. using the poor and unfortunate for the benefit of profit is proof of the egotistical and vain attempts of self worship in this country. Self praise for helping others who are less fortunate by wearing materialistic name brands that praise charity in the most uncharitable way, EVER! ONE for ONE??? Why not just buy a brand new pair and send it to someone unfortunate in Buenos Aires, PERIOD?!!!

  • Toms inspires so much, this could just be the beggining for so much goodness! Blake truly is an amazing person! Wow it's just incredible.

  • awh:')

  • watch my video on why TOMS arent gay?

  • Hey TOMS, Y you no give all your money to the less fortunate?

  • @ptsocr they give them shoes because there are no very few stores to buy things in those places

  • @euo95 I wasn't suggesting they hand over a few million in cash. I was suggesting they donate all their money to proactive causes (medicine, vaccines, well digging, education, food, clothing, etc.)

  • @ptsocr Okay. Point Taken :]

  • @ptsocr you can't give ALL your money away, thats stupid. If you give everything away your company cannot grow, businesses that do not grow do not survive. Period. You, your company, and your employees should be compensated and rewarded for your tireless efforts especially considering how much of the profits go directly to supplying free shoes to poverty stricken children.

  • @chamberscmt How is that stupid? Charities do it.

What's stupid are TOMS customers who give $50+ to TOMS who pocket the majority of your money. If they care so much, why don't they donate that money to provide more shoes instead of advertising all over these websites??? Better yet, if YOU care so much, why don't YOU donate your next $50 to an organization which gives 100% of the money to those in need? Sure you may have to pass on an unneeded pair of shoes, but THAT is what charity is about!

  • @ptsocr oh damn ur a bitch.

  • @ptsocr

Ok how much money have u given to this children? how much food u have donated? and, when did u volunteer to do something for the children that are hungry and need of medicine???

People can easily judge and, say why? why? why? but have u done something??? i didn't think so! Keep your opinions to yourself and stop judging other people because you didn't come up with the idea to actually do something for this kids. Now keep your STUPID comments to yourself.

  • @esinnalebbe By the way, there is a NONPROFIT organization called NEI that helps the women and children of Afghanistan who are dying in childbirth from simple malnutrition by giving them the self-sufficient means to grow their own soy beans and make it a part of their daily nutritional diet in order to save lives. Who is helping them? They are a small NGO that is doing miracles in Afghanistan that even the World Food Program is envious of. I know firsthand of this because I was in a meeting..

  • @ptsocr AMEN! How about FEED THE CHILDREN? Or, World Vision? The Red Cross? They've been around forever! Who's helping them? All of our money is going to ourselves and not to charities that have been struggling to provide help to all of these nations and these NONPROFIT Charities are ALREADY doing and have been doing what Blake attempts to project he is doing, in a more PROFITABLE way...

  • @chamberscmt you are showing that this company is providing profit to someone in business, but what is the business all about? Is it to help people? Or, is it just to start a fad that people will buy into so that they can feel good about themselves and show off to others that they are such good and giving people by wearing some brand that "proves" it. Why be so self glorifying? Why not just buy a pair of TOMS and give both of the ONE for ONE to the unfortunate and be anonymous?

  • If only I could like this video a hundred thousand times :)

Keep up the good work guys!

  • @dodg3rs21 Shut up! and why can u guys just donate money and do something for this kids... bunch of ignorant people.

  • @esinnalebbe Your comment does not make sense, fool.

  • totally support the idea of this charity, i just wish the shoes looked good.

  • i have malaria, no education, and dying of starvation but i sure do have a great pair of shoes.,...............why dont you feed'em, build schools for them provide medical care,, stupid hipster douche, you guys are fucking dumb if you actually think youre doing something right for the world.

  • @TheLodilodimahony you dont have to be a douche about it...People these days -_-

  • @TheLodilodimahony Yeah, I love when people who don't do shit for other people bitch and say others should.

  • I agree with the comment, the price of TOMS here in the Philippines is freaking me out!

  • i love my toms!i got the classic black ones today and they are amazingly comfortable!(: but what really counts is the fact that a child in need will git a pair too(:

  • "What if I can..." ...build a learning center, where people can learn about entreprenuer and make the world a better place.

  • I want a pair of TOMS. Definitely. :)

  • I JUST BOUGHT MINE , AT LEAST I KNOW SOMEONE WILL GET A FREE PAIR OF SHOES AND I HELPED CONTRIBUTE TO IT.

  • Absolutely my favorite(:

So comfortable, going to purchase more(:

  • i just got my SECOND pair of toms!!:) #love

  • got toms today and I love em

  • Bought my first pair last Friday going back again next friday!

  • The price of a pair here in the Philippines is incredibly high! Can you make it lower? So we can buy more and help more people :)

  • this is the sweetest thing ever,

  • I feel great knowing that when I bot a pair of TOMS today, I knew that a kid in need is going to get a pair too. :)

  • 2 toms today. i love them(:

  • Just got a pair from Tony Shoes, absolutely love them!

  • This is the most inspirational story. I wish more people had the motivation to help the planet in any way. It really is incredible that the founder had such passion and innovative ability to successfully create an organization to help others in need. I love TOMS in every way! Wonderful, comfortable, great shoes, with the most valuable purpose of donating shoes to help children in need!

  • I love my shoes and glad they gave a pair to a child. SO sad though:(

  • Hell Yeah Bitches. . . TOMS for the win ┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

  • the guys below me need to get laid...thumbs up

  • Wow, thats a great story. I just bought my first pair yesterday. And not only are they really cool shoes, but the fact that I am giving back in a way. This was great what this man did! I am very happy he did this. GREAT JOB!! Thanks

  • This is a nice idea, but ultimately flawed. It comes down to one question:

    Are shoes actually necessary?

The answer is no, not really. Especially in the context of where the shoes are being sent:

    a) Its generally much hotter where shoes are going to be uncomfortably warm.

    b) The ground is generally softer (sand, grass, soft dirt) - not everywhere in the world is covered in concrete and pavement. Additionally, feet become strong and tough in a relatively short amount of time.

  • @darchibald The funny thing is you probably wear shoes everyday right?. I would say to walk a mile in their shoes and see what its like but they don't have any. Just because there's no pavement doesn't mean there aren't sharp objects and plenty of other things to fuck your feet up on. That's why people have been wearing feet protection ever since humans existed. Explain to me how this idea is flawed? If hes making an honest living and making thousands of people happy ?

  • @Blazinnn89 Actually I formed my opinions after living with a family in Mozambique for three months where most of the time we were barefoot or in sandals/flipflops. My shoes stayed in my bag virtually the whole time. You're right when you say there's nothing wrong with him making a living and making thousands of people happy. I should have clarified and said the idea of this as an amazing and substantial humanitarian effort is flawed. He isn't helping that many people out, and...

  • @darchibald He's making a bigger impact than most governments are doing and sure their feet are blistered scared burnt and bruised due to the amount of walking they do im sure they would be thankful a pair of shoes that will help prevent that In a country in poverty they do tend to walk every were so think how important their feet are and how much of a disadvantage they would be if say they couldnt walk due to bad scaring etc

  • Comment removed

  • @Blazinnn89 ..its not really honest. He's selling more shoes by telling people they're making a big impact when they buy from his company, which as stated previously is false. All I'm saying is if people truly want to help/make an impact, time, money and resources can be better spent elsewhere. When it comes to international aid and development, the idea of "any help is good help" or "at least its something" has long been discounted. Misguided "help" is often more of a hindrance in the long run.

  • Muskypucker, that is not true. The video specifically said, "around the world." This includes giving jobs to people in the US as well as these amazing shoes to impoverished people in many countries. I recently bought a 3rd pair and these shoes are so comfortable and durable. Not only are they unique and stylish, but also durable enough to give to children in need all over the world. You need to research something before you belittle it. Mr. Blake is a kind, generous guy who cares. Think before

  • @muskypucker you have no idea what the fuck your talking about

  • i love toms shoes:) i have the pink glittery ones!

  • It's so great to see people take the focus off of themselves and help out those in need. You have an amazing heart Blake!

    -Betsy Allen

  • im goin to buy some toms now just because its goin for a good cause.......everybody in the world thats able should buy atleast one pair

  • I hope the children will be blessed every day.

  • i just bought like 10 or 11 pairs yesterday hope it helps!! also they are nice shoes too

  • think of it like this he has to make the shoes then the have the cost to rent the stuff the materials also a place to make them shipping also they might actually have to pay the people who work there so it makes scene

  • Yeah i realized you ment to say Im buying two shoes, when I thought you where happy I was buying two pairs of shoes...

  • actual childern who grew up in slipper or being barefoot helps develop high and strong arches that makes the foot stronger

  • im absolutely in love with my toms. best shoes i have ever bought.

  • actually he was clever, greedy but not heatless

ive seen toms shoes, they are for about $50 , shoes are produced fast, and they are nothing but leather and bad materials

but hey, even though this suck and men who wear this look gay, he is making his wallet fat and helping.

  • @crps3ESA shut up. your ruining a great cause. great to know i share the world with an asshole like you.

  • What this whole time i thought these cured Aids!!! i even stopped using Condoms

  • Toms are fucking stupid.

I have a pair and theyre just like carboard wrapped in a towel.

Why dont you make these kids some real shoes? These shoes wont protect them from anything. Where these people live, their terrain is tough and with these shoes you're so vulnerable. I feel like a dumbass for paying 40 dollars for a stupid ugly fucking pair of slippers.

  • who they hell would dislike this?!?!! you 3 who disliked it are terrible creatures!

PS. just bought my first pair of toms yesterday!

  • i have black toms!:)))

  • don't overanalize it. bottom line it's for a good cause and I choose to believe in it...

  • 3 dislikes... really? who would dislike a movement like this?

  • check out this video called

beautiful Asian girls in traditional dress

VINAHUT.COM: with every purchase of our handmade bag, you lend a hand to save a village

  • They're so expensive but I know they're for charity

  • those be some stylin' kids (;

  • Just slid into my 15th pair of TOMS:)

  • ......Only cool people wear TOMS. just sayin'

  • free toms!!!!!!!!!

  • hmmm should i get the brown or the grey botas...

  • you inspire me to help people

  • I don't support Tom's shoes. Nikes cost $3.50 to manufacture which cost more to manufacture than TOMS shoes. If you buy Toms, you get a pair for 54 bucks, and donate one pair. How about spending 54 bucks to manufacture 54 minimalist shoes, and sending over 53 shoes to a country in need. You get to keep a pair, and you donate 53 pairs for the same price. Do the math people, don't rely on for-profit companies to make a difference. You can make a difference yourself, with a little bit of cash.

  • @r3b0rnx yes but you also have to think of the costs of the warehouses, design partners, ext. i agree but you better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

  • @jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj612

That is a good point, however consider if 200 people took time out of their week to create 51 sandals/slippers(one for yourself), cheaper and as effective as shoes, inside their homes, you could do away with those cost and provide 10000 sandals/slippers for children in need. The cost of shipping is quite cheap as well.

  • @r3b0rnx If you dont like TOMS so much....then why the hell are you searching their videos??

  • @SupaSinga101

At first I was interested in the concept of Toms shoes so I had done a bit of research, and came across this video, to answer your question. After concluding what I thought would be a better alternative I decided to post my thoughts in the comment section.

  • @r3b0rnx fact: the vegan classics are $54.00. regular classics are $44.00.

  • i thought tom shoes were dumb cause everyone was wearing them but now since i know the whole background it's amazming , he doing a great thing :) hopefully he doesn't stop and helps out more people :))))

  • This is bullshit!!!! tom is not giving kids thses shoes.....................he sitting in a huge ass house making a bunch of money!!!!

  • @MrTimriggins jajajaja shame on you

  • @MrTimriggins hahaha you're so uninformed. The owner and founder of the company isn't named Tom. His name is Blake, they're actually called TOMS meaning Tomorrow's Shoes.

  • @MrTimriggins sikeeeeeeee, youre a dumbass

  • @MrTimriggins Are you friends with him or something? because you REALLY cant say shit about someone if you dont even know what they do. so unless you, yourself has hung out with tom, you can shut the fuck up.

  • @MrTimriggins Actually, the guy lives on a sailboat with little belongings. If anyone finds out a way to sell something for profit, use the profit to produce another product, give that other product away for free, and make millions, then he has created a genius operation or a scam. The CEO of TOMS is making a well deserved minimalist living for creating a value for humanity.

Quit listening to uninformed people and thinking that business can only be done by sinful people.

  • ~ thank you & blessings ~ <3

  • What I don't get is how after they all got shoes, they all magically turned to be clothed as well.

  • @101101110100 They weren't given clothes. They had clothes. Their parents realized that having clothes on their back was more important than shoes

  • @ImFromFlorence What I'm saying is in the beginning they showed kids without shoes AND without clothes, but after introducing the whole TOMS idea, all kids with shoes turned out clothed as well.

  • @101101110100 Yeah, I see what you mean now. I guess they just start it out with the lowest level for some shock value.

  • Got a pair, its worth it.

  • I really want some TOMS, might get them soon

  • I just bought a pair of TOMS today ! : D I'm sooo excited

They are really comfortable and they are really cute

But most important I get to help a child in need: D

  • wow.. the power of an idea..

  • i bought 2 pairs... but wy are they sow freakying expensive

  • @JERKY6ONE9 they are expensive because you are indeed paying for 2 pairs. I was hesitant to pay 40+ bucks for them, but watching these videos makes me feel amazing about it.

  • damn theyre expensive... i just bought 4 pairs... not kidding! :3

  • when toms charges less for their don johnsons/argie knockoffs and are actually made in america, i'll buy them. until then i'll buy a shit pair of velcro shoes and save 45 bucks minumum. FUCK MARKETING GIMMICKS.

  • i just bought one :)

  • what's the name of the song at about 3:40-end of the video?

  • Such an inspiration. There should be more people like Blake in the world.

  • The day walmart starts giving away stuff to people who need it is the day pigs fly

  • They are not ugly, I have like every single color, and style :)it makes me feel happy that all these children are getting shoes :)

  • These are the fucking ugliest shoes in the world.............they all need to be restyled

  • @MrTimriggins YOU NEED TO LEAVE.

  • three people are not humans

  • @ItsMetals first.....three people are humans. and second of all....so are 3 million.

  • imagine if grocery stores, restaurants, walmart, home depot, etc. adapted this business model...

  • @aermio That's a good thought, especially because it goes to show that the world doesn't need socialism to be socially conscious. A better, more equal social world can be achieved through socially conscious corporations.

  • Amazing what one IDEA can do.

  • Search for this in Youtube: RSA Animate - First as Tragedy, Then as Farce

    Zizek speaks about TOM'S SHOES!

  • this made me tear up :')
