  • that blonde girl is beastttt!

  • i cant stop watching this.. absolutely amazing

that blonde girl can turn mann!

  • i cant stop watching this.. absolutely amazing

  • beautifullllllll great choreography beautiful lines ladies

  • Am I the only one seeing obvious sexuality here or am I just ignorant ?

  • they r really good dancers cuz that is some easy moves but they were so clean and sharp they made em look difficult! great job!

  • Though I thought it was very pretty and a lovely song, I feel the song needed to speed up a little to catch up with the dancers. Maybe it's just me as an Irish dancer who is used to having the music always there and trying to make sure I dance the right dance to the right music. Maybe that's just me though. :)

  • saw this dance in person and it was awesome!

  • @kdancer3937 OMG IM SO JEALOUS

  • @pinksingerdancer24 yea it was really amazing. I think they won over all champion with it at nationals for duets and trios.

  • they could have just easily use a tree as a prop and another breathy, pretty song to have a less problematic reading of this dance. instead, it borders on satire and irony. the costumes advertise their bodies, the display of skill to highlight themselves, movements that reflect sexual energy and desire. without the context of the lyrics in the song, what is the choreography "really" saying. i dont think Jesus was very important, just a conceptual prop, but then i forgot this is a competition.

  • Wow. I'm blown away...

And I'm spool jealous!!! Haha :)

  • GREAT BEAUTIFUL I LOVED it

  • Absolutley amazing :)

  • JPD is sooooooo good! Hey always kill us with their turns and extensions!!

  • I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN THE PEOPLE OF GOD WORSHIP AND DANCE IN THE CHURCH WITH SUCH PASSION, DEDICATION, POWER AND EXCELLENCE. THIS WAS STUNNING AND I AM BLESSED TO WITNESS SUCH BEAUTY AND GRACE. BLESS YOU GIRLS!! YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS SURELY GIFTED YOU ALL!

  • L.O.V.E.D it(:

  • who sings this version of the song?????

  • please can somebody tell me what type of dance is this ? thanx

  • @kattaplay lyrical

  • AMAZINGGG!!

  • ... she should have rolled.

  • erica mucked up a bit but who cares i luv it

  • INCREDIBLE. Both the choreography and the dancers are impeccable and unbelievably talented. GREAT job!!!!

  • lovely an beaaauifulll

  • whos d singer of dis song??

  • imogene heap

  • haha this song was in shrek

  • I do have to say, when I first started watching this, it DID look almost like they were pole dancing on the cross. But if you kinda think about it. It reminds me of angels rejoicing around the cross.

These girls are absolutely stunning the way they dance.

  • i think they're dancing way too fast for the music.

  • its better. im a dancer and we dance slow music a lil fast. to slow is borinqq.. and its more stepps and more energy

  • This was a very good trio!! One of my favorites so far..

  • really, its all about what message theyre trying to convey. in no way shape or form were they trying to do innapropriate things on this cross. the costume again is up to the coreagrapher. helps their lines. but this dance is beautiful. and i dont think God would care. i think he sees it as beautiful and is glad that theyre dancing period.

  • Beautiful dance!!

  • 1 word ...... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very good..very talented dancers..love the idea and the meaning of this dance, not sure i like the choreography, everything is so sharp and fast motion, it would be nice to have seen this dance slowed down a little..its a soothing song, but not soothing to watch if you know what i mean..very good tho..amazing turns and technique! great job girls!

  • Yeah I love this dance n Devin has always been great i swear she's going to the top

  • its pretty good but it isnt the best trio ive seen.

  • whoever choreographed deserves an oscar....this is the best trio I ever seen in my life

  • what did they get on this?

  • first overall :)

  • Never seen anything so well timed,

    wow amazing x

  • what is the name of this song?

    It is amazing!

  • hallelujah

    covered by

    imogen heap

  • that was amazing and the coreograpy was fantastic! i have a duet to the song and i hope its as good as that. im in thier level so i hope so!

  • to be completly truthful I am happy the blonde fell out of the leg hold turn because if she didnt i would think all of them are robots, that was completly phenominal! You set the bar for every contemporary/lyrical dance studio! Great job...props!

  • imogen heap always makes good songs to dance to

  • this dance is absolutly beautiful. You guys r right on together.the emotion and poassion is deffintly there. And you tell a story through this dance. Very insperational i love it.

  • i loved it u were great and also the blonde u are a VERY good turner keep it up!!!!!!!!! =P

  • um... she did fall... but did you see that recovery? incredible ladies keep it up!

  • Comment removed

  • they are brave enough to put the cross on stage like that! lots of peeps would be ashamed to. great turns!

  • I thought they were amazing and excuse me TwilightMuseLover its fine that you dont believe in god but i personally think that he is real and they werent kidding their self at all bravo girls<33

  • That was beautiful . . not a lover of Contemporary, but I have been converted.

  • it wasn't contemporary,it was lyrical. lol.

  • cool down bud they are very similar styles of dance so it is easy for someone to get confused

  • Meh - two very similar styles!

If you can give a clear definition of both - id be most grateful! :)

  • I'm torn..they are obviously good at turning, jumping and leg extentions. I have seen many MANY dances choreographed to this song. That being said, though the other peices may not have the tricks, but their passion and slower (non- thrashy) movement matchess this powerful song.

Each to their own! It's not the dancer's fault. I blame the choreo.

And, the cross? Um, don't really know what to think about the crop -top, legs around the cross situation.

  • damn that was amazing even though the blonde girl messed up at that one part it was still brilliant

  • who sings this version of hallelujah?

  • imogen heap, its good huh? hallelujah is my favorite song and this is one of my fave versions

  • that was amazing

  • The fact that they are holding onto the cross as if it's a stripper pole is what bugs me. Ridiculous.

  • wow. get a life.

  • they aren't dancing sexually or anything

  • frick devin

    i love you girl!!!

  • Who sings this verson?

  • imogen heap :)

  • wow...

they are amazing. the tiny short blond girls turns were absoulutly beautiful!

  • Dance is supposed to be a synonym for harmony, peace ... but dancing like that on such a great and beautiful song is a murder !

  • what are you talking about!! dance has nothing to do with harmony and peace. its a reflection of emotion and creativity.this is an amazing pice and for to say that..ugh it frustrates me..i bet you couldnt o that(not saying that i ca) but then again im not crituiqing an amazing dance

  • that would make a lot of sense if every person got the same affect from listening to a song.

but one person may see a song as fast and rapid while another may see it as, as you would say, "peaceful".

  • how is that murder.. that was beautiful!

  • wow, you really dont no anything about dancing do you..... it was awesome, it was really strong and it represented how we don't have peace and how we need it, and it was completely full of emotion

  • dont you know anything . . .if you are going to give an interpretation and try to act like you are some literature and art analysis scholar than you would know that there are multiple interpretations to anything as long as you have probable cause to why it is what you say it is . . .and FYI a cross usually symbolizes religious faith and the dove symbolizes peace . . .just a little 101 lesson on symbolism

  • excuse me......how did i sound like i was a literature and art analysis scholar? i said that it represented how we don't have peace and how we need it, and i also never said that my opinion was the only one, and that what i thought it represented was the only representation, and FYI like you said a cross USUALLY symbolises religious faith, it can also mean peace, so just piss off and why don't you stop acting like you know everything when it's obvious that you don't!

  • i think silence is a virtue.. and the crowd cheering just sort of kills it.

  • These girls are absolutely amazing dancers..but i dont think the choreography worked with the song. Though really detailed and interesting, It was way too hyped up on sugar. Slower with fast moments would have been nicer and more dynamic. and when they all stop and prepare for their pirouettes and other tricks...arrgghh preparations take you out of the moment. would love to see less show-offy tricks and more dance. oh and the cross does nothing for me...its just a perch for the acrobatic tricks.

  • Cross? I thought it was a lower case "t" I thought it represented "t" for "trio"!

You go girls! Yu and your teacher are all amazing!

  • WOW!!!!i thought u guys were ahhh-mazing!!!this dance was awesome!!!

  • that is good. quite good.

  • heres the thing, everyone is arguing over the interpretation of this song and the thing is...i find the inclusion of a cross in this dance to be very inappropriate. this song was written by leonard cohen (who is jewish, so that clears up the question of whether or not this song is intended to be directly tied to christianity)...besides dances with religious connotations should not be included in national competitions to begin with.

however, i think these dancers are very talented and did well

  • best trio on youtube, who cares if she dropped her leg. they probably did this routine a thousand times in the studio and she never dropped it. this is amazing dancing.

  • thats an awsome dance with great dancers and great choreography. and would u to at the top stop taking everything so darn personaly u watch the dance for wot it is ,not for wot it means or wot u think it means or wot anybody alse thinks it means . geese

  • absolutely amazing.

  • This is good but the blonde girl lost her balance.

  • I'm a strict christian, yes the kind that wears skirts to church and dance and sing at church, but I'm also a dancer. And I absolutely am in love with this dance. To be honest at first I questioned, omg they're hanging on the cross! And then I saw the way in which it was done and yes, they do look like they are mourning, or at least portraying the song. A lot of this looks like it should if you were just dancing your heart out for god! I wish i could dance this well and use that talent for God.

  • I think the dance (just in my opinion) is about them dancing for God, and that the cross is, in a way, them mourning Jesus just being crucified, like Mary and the other women did. This dance is not inapropriate. And for those who say that their clothing is frowned apon in the Christian world, what is your place to just asume that they are not Christian? They may be very devout Christians. Your never know. So don't discriminate against these girls unless you know the full story. love this dance!!

  • and (sorry i didn't hav enough space, and wanted to say more) the costumes help to show off their lines, so that the judges may see if there are any mistakes made. I agree with what gracielou1124 said. I would love nothing more than to dance for God right in front of him or at the foot of the cross. Maybe this is the girls way of dancing for him. At the foot of the cross. So don't talk smack about this dance. You're just jealous that you didn't think of the idea first.

  • I love the dance, very creative. What I don't get is what does the Cross have to do with that dance. NO offense, sill GREAT choreography! Great job girls!

  • oh and dont use such big words it makes u seem like a bitch and no one likes bitches like you!!!

  • I thought they did an amazing job! You misinterpreted what I was trying to say. I thought what others were saying about the cross and Christianity were erroneous. I was merely bringing another side to the debate on the appropriateness of the use of a cross in this dance (which I personally thought was brilliant).

  • for all the crazy church people below this comment and especially the on right below me and i dont give a shit if i spelled anything wrong are all gay and who cares its a dance my god you hoes the girls did a fantastic job i bet none of y'all con do what they just did so shut the fuck up

  • Think its tacky?: A portion of Christianity is based on forgiveness of sins. I cannot begin to comprehend the choreographer's idea, but it seems the fact that they return to the cross several times within this dance is reminiscent of the idea that although man sins, the forgiveness factor remains. As to crotch shots? All high caliber dancing requires excellent extension, no?

ps. If you're going to insult, learn to spell so you don't look incompetent.

But then again, who are we to judge? ;)

  • Is the blonde girl the same girl that did "Mary Had A"?

  • i heard this studio had amazing emotion, but not so great technique.

i think the technique looks good!

  • i'm pretty sure that little blonde is the best turner i've ever seen. they are all brillant. but i've soo many of the same moves in a lot of their other dances.

  • okay, these dancers have AMAZING technique, but i agree with julietaj6, this is way to fast and really has no meaning.

  • I really didn't like this. THe movement is unnecessarily fast...far too sharp. It lacks meaning. Horrible, especially the choreography.

  • you obviously have NO appreciation for the modern art of dance!

  • wow wow wow. always amazed by jpd dancers. love this. maybe one of my faves.

  • I don't understand this whole 'cross' deliema. I mean, if I was a devout Christian/Catholic, I would want something, that is the essential symbol of my religion, represented as something as beautiful as this dance.

On another note, this was stunning. Absolutely breathtaking.

  • There is no question that the dance is beautiful. The use of the cross is a little questionable for many reasons. One, the clothing that they are dressed in, while appropriate in the dance world, is frowned upon by Christians. Also, they are swinging on and around the cross. That is very disrespectful.

I am only explaining because you said you do not understand the dilemma. Just some Christian insight for you.

  • they're amazing dancers and the cross is a cool idea....what's slutty about it?? so mutualaidsupplies.....go suck an egg

  • This is in incredible, it brought a tear to my eye.

  • Those of you leaving comments saying the choreography with the cross was distasteful and inappropriate just do not understand. I go to Catholic school, I'm not offended. You're entitled to your opinion, however, in this case, pleas ekeep it to yourself because it is upsetting.

This dance was amazing. It's my favorite on YouTube. BEAUTIFUL choreography. LOVE the cross.

  • omg god shut up bout the cross thing it goes with the dance really well atlantis and mutal supplies and creative dancing just shut up u dont know what your talking about! this dance is amazing ur guys are really good role models!! great job ladies! (i love ur needle spins) =}}

  • oh wow. this cheor. is amazing.

you all dance with your hearts and it shines through!

please keep dancing like this. people look up to you <3

    like me

    amazing

  • ok ppl calm down this dance is beautiful!!

and mutualaidsupplies u can but different rhythms on a slow dance!! hello!! the spins were right on rhythm..stop being a hater

  • They are talented. so I think just leave the cross thing alone is my take on the whole thing.

  • This is a beautiful dance I do agree, but I also am not sure how I feel about the cross. The symolism of it didn't make sense to me because the song, although named Hallejuah wasn't about God (at least, from my interpretation). And I'm not sure the dance was either.

  • wow.

calm down with the Cross comments guys.

obviously you searched up and watched

the wrong things for you guys.

idk but im pretty sure God would appreciate

this because he appreciates the dance.

and im pretty sure the dancers are strong

    believers in God.

    Leave them alone.

*sigh* i guess dancers only understand..

  • okayy ur brain is thinking wrong okatyy its called modern and contemoerary and yhe cross goes good with the songg stop thinking wrong okay because im sure ur not even i n that level okay stop hating on them

  • amazing needle spins, :-D!

  • yay devin! :]

  • crazy good.

  • devin is such a good dancer!

but so are the other two!

  • god this dance is stunning! All three of them are gorgeous dancers and the choreography is outstanding! keep up the great work!

  • I love this dance so much. and its a shame I've seen 1 too many dance studios steal moves and the idea.

  • amazing. thats all i have to say. It takes my breath away.

  • the dance is amazing...get over it.

  • the best

  • If dance were any easier it would be called football!! =]

  • thats a sign on the wall in my dance center hahahahaha im not kidding =D

  • what did this get at a competition!??

  • OMG THEY ARE AWSOMEE!!!!!!!I love the choreography they are awesome at turning to.

  • the blonde girls turns are amazing! what is her name is she erica?

  • i know.

it's a shame she lost her leg hold at 2:34 though :[

  • yes

  • amazing you guys never cease to amaze me

  • isnt this by imogen heap?

  • @ inlovespell

Hallelujah-Jeff Buckley , the song was written by Leonard Cohen i think

  • I don't like the cross in the middle. It reminds me of christianity during the whole song. What I like about this song is not christianity but the connection between love and hallelujah.

I didn't receive any emotion. I watched bodies just monivg around without any reason. I felt that it was important for them to show off.

However they were beuatiful and flexible.

  • moves are to fast for the song

  • beautiful...!

  • can any one please tell me who sings this song please.!

i mean the person singing it now. not the acutal.

    im not THAT stupid.

  • Imogen Heap

  • wow

  • this is just so gorgeous and takes complete controal of everything... brava! yall did amazing! =]

  • At 1:59-2:02, the unison is perfect. Re: the whole dance, I love the shapes, technique, everything.

  • this is so awesome!

but there is to much movement for the song.

  • i loved it=] i like to see people your age dance like that. some dancers lose their talent as they get older but you guys were awesome.

  • technically it is fantastic, but i dont understand why there is a cross there... and the choreography is a little bit to frantic. you are amazing dancers though

  • ur an idiot if you dont get why the cross is thier!!! take a secong and listen to the lyrics dum ass......... wonderful job this dance is amazing.!!:)

  • Ummmm hello?

"love is not a victory march its a cold and broken hallelujah....remember when I moved in you, and the holy dark was moving to and every breath we drew was hallelujah"

I don´t really understand Leonard Cohen but I´m willing to bet he wasn´t thinking about a big fat evangelical cross when he wrothe this....dumB ass

  • i think this song has many more meanings then you think. And i suppose it makes sense for some people to have a cross there. But if you really get into the lyrics there is much more to it. i'm going to be dead honest and tell you that hot sex is definatly part of it. theres also alot of irony.

  • exactly. i said that before and someone called me a perv. But it's completely true

  • wow you guys are stronng

  • i like to see turns!!!! but i do agree you that you have to find the emotion in a song. A happy medium.

  • Omg enough turns already. Instead of thinking about practicing four hundred turns, actually go and dance to a song and find the meaning of it and put the emotion in and "breathe" with the music. I'm not saying this isn't an emotional dance because it is but seriously guys..no one wants to see a thousand turns in one dance.

  • i like 1:07..cool pose

  • imogen heap sings this. she sings more awesome songs to dance to also! i love them

  • i've watched a lot of your dances, and coming from a dancer of 13 years, this dance is amazing! i love it!!! and who sings this version of this song?? i absolutely love it!!! please let me know!! =D

  • this almose made me cry :)

  • why don't you do just one more turn!!! it would make this a whole lot better!.. not

  • amazing dance! i really liked the way you used the cross. the only thing i'd say is too many turns

  • I really really liked it :) Wish i had been in it!

I'm still in two minds about the cross, but that's just because of the taboo it brings. Although it was used in a way that i thought was respectful, the girls were "holding" on to their religion etc..

Although my only bit of criticism is that there were sooo many piroettes and turns etc..Not sure if that totally fitted with the whole dances image etc. But AMAZING nonetheless!

  • It's great to see a live person/s dancing and happy on a cross for once instead of a dead man nailed to it.

  • very brave to do it on the cross but i thought it was very original and amazing.

  • i loveee this dance so much! its really good. ive used this song before, but a different version. i deffinatley like this version better by imogen heap. nice job ladies =]

  • this video is great. this dance is very beautiful and meaningful. one of the dancers hav amazing turns and they are all very flexible. but i think that more sync shuld be put into this dance. and when she does the mount turn she shuld hav better posture and keep her leg stright but besides that it is beautiful

  • Actually no, I was wrong.

The original was by Leonard Kohern.

Which was covered by Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley and Imogen Heap. I agree with 'obladeeobladah' - research it.

  • I like this dance, its real nice.

And pft, I'm pretty sure the original was by Rufus Wainwright, which was then covered by Jeff Buckley.

  • on the other posting of this dance...someone said that you guys need to have some human integrity and not dance on a cross...i say i never understood the wrongness in dancing with a cross...its a tribute....whoever thinks that needs to shut up.....you guys are amazing...im a dancer and i see you guys all the time

  • listen ur crothch is somethen a guy has okayy 2 watss ur problem thinking wrong 3 obiously ur not a dancer and 4 u will never understand how dancers dance and ull will never get to there level stop hating on them okay cuz im pretty sure there betta then u

  • i Love this piece

    absolutly amazing!!

    where is this studio located???

  • Riverside, CA.

Fortunately, JPD has now expanded to Temecula, CA...so you can take classes there too!!!

    =)

  • i wish, if i lived in california ;)
