For the unsaved, HELL AWAITS!!! I've never understood the concept of "everlasting punishment" When i "punish" my child, it is for the Purpose of teaching him a lesson. What sense would it make for me to continue punishing him just for the sake of punishment?????

Second Hell is a synonym of death. God does not torture people in a lake of fire. What if a little child dies unsaved? Will God punish that child forever? No God is a God of mercy and does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked.

@kolainca Thanks. I agree with your perspective, except for one thing. One CAN use evidence to assess what is true. For instance, the Bible contains many contradictions. That negates any claims of "inerrancy," It also contains fairy tales, such as unicorns, talking animals, and men walking on water. The evidence negates these stories. And there are all of those unfulfilled prophecies and promises. I believe that rational humans CAN assess religions, just like any other claims. Peace to you.
I don't have a problem with anything you've said. My point is that if you wanted to choose between religions (being of a mind to believe) there is no honest way to determine whose truth claims are more valid.

Hell in Hebrew is Sheol and it can be called "Kehenna" depending on what we use the word hell to describe things. Greeks and latin mythology have changed the true meaning of things, which scares so many people. In Greeks it is called "Hades". Thinking that fire is in hell and wicked is burnt. The Catholics call it purgatory where the soul of the dead is burning for weeks, months and even centuries until the so called righteous' prayers are answered, permitting the soul to go to heaven.

Hell is not eternal torment. The ultimate punishment for sin is eternal death. "Whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life." To perish in the concordance is to be destroyed. Who lives eternally and who perishes? To say people in hell are tormented forever means they have life forever. There is a big distinction in the bible though. Only the saved have everlasting life. The wages of sin is death. God is loving and just. He takes no pleasure in punishing the wicked.

At 3:40 the pastor mentioned "depart from me ye that work iniquity" can you please explain what is meant by this. Turning away from sin is not a work but a lifestyle choice (living for God and not for your desires).

Hell is mentioned in the OT as Sheol in Hebrew. This was the rubbish dumb used by the Israelites before the destruction of the city by Emperor Titus. In Greek it is translated Hades (Gehena) and Hell for Engllish. But they all point to the same thing. It is also called the Hinnom Valley (Jeremiah 7). The destruction of the wicked will take place in here (the lake of fire). Eternal death not Eternal torture). Some believe that this is where Judas hang himself.

The main point being Expounded here is that a person must call upon the Lord for salvation, and works follow that person.
For example, i'm a homosexual , but when the Lord saved me, he put a new desire in my heart. Now, so called Christians have rejected me. I face harrassment in every area of life for just being myself. But the Lord HAS saved me. Too often people count on their memberships and works to save them, but the Lord saves believers who sometimes are the most unlikely canidates!

This man is saying that God saves people through his mercy and grace. He then goes on to contrast that with others who claim to offer salvation to people based on works and water. This is a great teacher to expose those catholics and other false teachers.

Can someone explain to me why I am sentenced in this particular line of thinking to a afterlife of suffering, just because I don't want to lie to myself or God? I believe that I live a good life; why should I suffer for being truthful to my gut feeling? I love religion, despite not believing, but this sort of thing really gets my goat :(

Yeah thats right, thats why you need a savior, luckily God made salvation very easy. The bible doesnt say anywhere you cant judge, Jesus himself commanded us to "judge righteous judgement" in John 7:24, and even if I did sin, no surprise since im not 100% sinless, no one is.

Hell in Hebrew is Sheol and it can be called "Kehenna" depending on what we use the word hell to describe things. Greeks and latin mythology have changed the true meaning of things, which scares so many people. In Greeks it is called "Hades". Thinking that fire is in hell and wicked is burnt. The Catholics call it purgatory where the soul of the dead is burning for weeks, months and even centuries until the so called righteous' prayers are answered, permitting the soul to go to heaven.

The translation for Math. 7: 21 is "depart from me, you who practice LAWLESSNESS". The only way for saints to know if they have sinned is by the law (Romans 3:20). "Whoever commits sin, commits LAWLESSNESS, and sin is LAWLESSNESS." (1 John 3: 4) Remember, the Yahshua lives in you (saints) and He has witten the law in your hearts. (Jer. 31: 31-34)

Yah is a loving Elohim and even the wicked He still love them. He still gives them blessings that they may repent one day. Act 14: 17, Rom. 2: 4.
Yeshua said, "And these will go away into everlasting PUNISHMENT, but the righteous into eternal life." Now if Yeshua says Eternal PUNISHING, then the wicked will be tormented with fire eternally. The wicked is burnt and they are NO MORE. Why it is called eternal punishment , because eternally you will no longer EXIST.

Judgement is yet to happen. There is not a single person tormented by fire since the time of Adam until now. "and wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised form the dead, even Yeshua who delivers us from the WRATH TO COME" - 1 Thess. 1: 10. The wrath of Elohim is yet to come. "Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be in the END OF THE AGE"- Math. 13: 40. Every dead person is still sleeping. See 1 Thess. 4: 13- 18 & Job 21: 30-32. Peace.

it may surprise people who grew up indoctrinated by these fear-sermons that not all religions terrify people with fire & brimstone.I always wondered, if God was the Supreme Being, why he was so petty. The Bible is a book written & edited by humans and contains some quasi-history, some cultural practices (slavery,proscriptions against most Sabbath activities, & foods that we pick and choose to follow).I was taught Jesus is LOVE not an abusive lover.Beware ego preachers who NEED followers!

Where, in the Bible, does it depict the Afterlife or define what Heaven is like? This is all human fantasy, wishful thinking. All US vs Them mentality. Jesus told the story about the Good Samaritan, saying that EVERYONE is able to do good acts and receive mercy. Early Christianity flirted with reincarnation, and they shared resources (socialism). In revelation, and in Matthew, when Jesus says to the robber that he'll be with Him in paradise. to be in the presence of our creator, in a new body and a sphere of eternal love and fellowship is paradise my friend. the only challenging thing about Jesus' teachings are to completely give up this life and wait for the next. we WILL receive an awesome benefit after death, but no amount of works gets us there. we need Christ, and fruit comes from the Spirit

To do good without receiving Christ will not get you into the Kingdom of heaven. "For by grace you have been saved THROUGH FAITH and that not of yourselves; it is the GIFT of God, NOT of works, lest anyone should boast." Eph. 2: 8, 9. Grace is simply accepted through faith not of good works. Good works comes after faith.

The law is written in the hearts of the believers. We do not keep the law to be saved. But we keep them because we are saved. Sin is LAWLESSNESS. If don't don't know the law, then you don't know what you've done wrong. The Messiah kept them in order for Him to be perfect. But you need to know which part of the Torah to be kept. "the carnal mind is enmity against the law of God" Rom. 8: 7. But the spiritual mind is in harmony with the law of God.

Hell is not eternal torment. The ultimate punishment for sin is eternal death. "Whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life." To perish in the concordance is to be destroyed. Who lives eternally and who perishes? To say people in hell are tormented forever means they have life forever. There is a big distinction in the bible though. Only the saved have everlasting life. The wages of sin is death. God is loving and just. He takes no pleasure in punishing the wicked.

Will I have eyes in Hell to see it? Will I have nerves to feel the burn? How will these nerves be replenished. Will my cells be rejuvenated with some sort of otherworldly nutrition just so that I can feel pain? Is my soul made of wood, how is it going to burn? Are the laws of combustion the same. This doesn't make any sense. No one's ever been to Heaven or Hell, this is the truth and no one can handle the truth. No one KNOWS what happens after death, thank GOD for that!

Are you sure of that? In all your vanity you make such claims that no one has ever been to Heaven or Hell. There are many testimonies such from Mary K. Baxter and Bill Wiese who were taken out of their body to Hell. It is real, and people are burning there right now. Furthermore, you should need no other thing to convince you than the Bible itself.

At 3:40 the pastor mentioned "depart from me ye that work iniquity" can you please explain what is meant by this. Turning away from sin is not a work but a lifestyle choice (living for God and not for your desires).
Here is the definition of iniquity:

1. injustice or wickedness
2. a wicked act [Latin iniquus unfair]
By this definition it means sin. So we cannot continue living in sin and say we are a part of the body of Christ but rather it brings us further from it.

Everyone sins...there is no man that is good. and the penalty for that sin is eternal death...seperation from God...hell. The only way that we can go to heaven is by confessing our sins to God & believing that Christ died for all sins on the cross and rose back to life.
& its not that God SENDS people to hell, he offers us the choice to accept him or reject him, and if a person rejects him or is not free from sin then God is simply giving them the choice they have chosen.

I like what you said but I want to pose a question to you. Can you accept Jesus? Demons accept and believe Jesus is Lord and where will they spend eternity (hell). Can we join a college fraternity by accepting them or do they need to accept us. If we confess that Jesus is Lord and we turn from our sins (lifestyle choice not works) then He will accept us and God is faithful and just to cleanse us from all our sins and grant us eternal life.
