@BatteryBlaster I think that's fascinating... Could you briefly describe what that's like exactly?
Although I don't think Jamie's character has synesthesia exactly, he doesn't show any signs in the rest of the movie besides this scene. It was more than simply listening to the music, he felt it. In any case, great scene.
I, oddly enough, have this, and even though the images are different for everyone, the emotion of this scene is there. The way your body functions change when you listen to music is astounding and captured here beautifully. Love this movie, just because it deals with exactly how I feel about the music...
SYNESTHESIA!!! i first learned about it through the book "The Man Who Tasted Shapes" and it intrigued and fascinated me. I'm so glad that i got to see this video, it may be the closest i get to synesthesia
A synesthete showed me to this video, said that the colors were different but the shapes very similar. It's crazy to think how some people can see the music!
Although I've never experienced synesthesia, this is one of the main reasons I want to do more film/animation. I have these same experiences in scenes, shapes, color, and stories. I'm sure a lot of people do. It's really incredible.
@neoelitist Well, he isn't anymore. But you're right, I really like how they had the then-LA Phil music director as the conductor because not only was he the music director, he was also the person who conducted the music in this soundtrack.
What the actual name of this piece?

"classical song Ludwig van Beethoven - Sound-Colour Synesthesia" This isn't a song, it's a symphony. :P

Synesthesia
I like how they had Esa Pekka (the actual conductor of LA Phil) instead of some white-haired actor hack stand-in
All based on a true story, too!
