Honestly i think the hard light works. Yeah it's not "flattering" or whatever but it works for the subject and the overall theme. Love the shoot and the pictures Claude. Still pretty amazed that you only used 1 speedlite.

Good beginner session, i think you need to spend a little more attention on the lighting as its very unflattering. Video seems to display your subject better than the photos? What type of lighting are you using?

@skalmusphoto Thanks for your comment - this is by no means meant to be a tutorial, more a fun video taken while doing a fun shoot. When I shoot in a studio or with natural light on location, the results are far better. A bare speedlite is sometimes far from flattering, but it does mimic sunlight, and some of the other shots in the linked album are striking.
