  • and the russians think their planes are maneuverable XD

  • @hotpocketpoison

Hmmm. Yes, they do... and rightly so! They have the most maneuvarable aircrafts in production today. Prototypes are just prototypes. They don't go out to defend the country, do they? Even the Russians have a lot of prototypes, including reverse-swept-wing models that are unparalleled in maneuvarability.

I can understand how your patriotism can stop you from giving credit where it really is due, though!

  • @RocketSingh80 giving credit where its due??? these aircraft were the first to use thrust vectoring for maneuverability, and after seeing how effective it was the russians copied it, also the X-29 was the first aircraft to have foreword swept wings...ALL the credit goes to the US.

  • @hotpocketpoison

    1. The first thrust vectored plane (for V/STOL) was the EWR VJ 101, by the Germans

    2. The first 2D thrust vectored plane (for maneuverability) was the Me 163 B, by the Germans

    3. The first 3D thrust vectored plane (for maneuverability) was the Su-35, by USSR (3 months before the F-15 MTD)

    4. The first forward swept wing plane was the Junkers Ju 287, by the Germans

Yep! You have just been owned on youtube for your ignorance in aviation history :) Move along.

  • @RocketSingh80 maybe i should have spoken more clearly. the X-29 was the first JET to use forward swept wings, the first plane to use >3D< thrust vectoring was the F-18HARV(flew almost 1 year before the Su-35). also i specifically mentioned "for maneuverability" so you would not mistake that for VTOL purposes(which you somehow managed to do). also the first stealthy plane to use purpose shaping to deflect radar waves was Horton Ho 229, russians dissected this design and other german ones to CONT

  • @hotpocketpoison

    1. Even if you now push the envelop to just jets, again X-29 is second to the much earlier demonstrator, the Sukhoi SYB-A, by USSR.

    2. I never "Assumed" V/STOL. I clearly mentioned all 3 applications of Thrust Vectoring. So, I don't get your rant.

    3. The F/A-18 HARV "program" started in 1987. The first flight came much later. The F-15 MTD was the first American jet to fly, using Thrust Vectoring for maneuverability. Maybe you must stop using Wiki as an accurate source of info.

  • @hotpocketpoison

Like I said in my first comment to you, I can understand how your patriotism might compel you to blindly assume America is the first at every technological innovation.

America copied technologies all through its history. I am not saying America never innovated. Just saying you blow it way out of proportion. A good example: Most Americans think Stealth is US innovation. In reality, it was developed by a Russian scientist, Petr Ufimtsev in the 1960s.

    Read some books, buddy!

  • @RocketSingh80 "invent"(as you called it)stealth technology. the first FUNCTIONING Radar Absorbent Material however was first used on the F-117(neither the russians nor germans were able to make effective RAM before this). purpose shaping is now obsolete so when we say we invented TRUE stealth we are NOT mistaken.

  • @hotpocketpoison You are wrong about Horten Ho. It was never designed to be stealthy. It was designed for range. Read some books. The unintended byproduct of the carbon-induced resins used in the wooden panels was radar "absorption" and the radar "dispersion" by the wing shape was minimal (and only in specific angles). It was this radar absorbing carbon-induced resins that were experimented with by both Russia and America, but never implemented in any production plane.

  • @hotpocketpoison

So, to set your record straight yet again:

    1. Germans had the first functional radar absorbing plane (Horten Ho 229)

    2. Petr Ufimtsev, a Russian scientist, was the pioneer in Radar deflection technology.

    3. The Keldysh research Center successfully demonstrated a Plasma Stealth System on Su-37 prototype in Dec 2010. DARPA is still years away from its Plasma system demonstration. So, who is ahead in stealth?

  • @RocketSingh80 read the comments i posted on my wall, fucking youtube is giving me the goddamn "error try again".

  • @RocketSingh80 Oh ffs, go look at the wiki page for plasma stealth. CIA funded stuff got there first.

  • xyn

  • :3

  • I wish they made a prototype of the F22 NATF

  • il y a de quoi rêver super montage ;)

  • Avion trop bien

  • black people can run as fast as that!

  • x-31 is just full of shit - cuz that's the most bullshit i've EVER seen in my LIFE when it comes to maneuverability. to the test pilot, i bow my head low

  • great vid goes good with the music

  • what have they don to the f-16 D: turned a sexy plane into a.....wtf is that >:(

  • @furitloopsproduction F-16 XL original design to compete but lost to F-15E strike eagle.

  • @truonghthe lucky thing it did D:

  • F16 VISTA and X 31 is also pretty cool

  • too bad f-16xl wasnt aproved

  • Good stuff... I never realized how good looking the 16XL was.

  • the f-16XL is an american j-35 draken

please don't be angry just look at the wings of both planes.

  • THE SONG IS

    Sash - I Believe

  • Comment removed

  • The best at what it does...not the best overall.

  • exactly... everyone knows the RAF is much better lol

  • The X-31 could pull maneuvers that no other aircraft could...amazing piece of machinery.

  • angle CANT imagine

  • @pjernst777 Russia and USA has some amazing machinery if only they wern't biefing all the time and make some damn superjet or something to fight aliens lol.

  • NASA U2s are called ER-2. they are still flying at Dryden.

NASA flew its Sr-71 faster than the USAF because they did not fly as far. The SR could go 3.28M. The limiting factor was the inlet spike travel.

  • laronfox don't write comments without doing your home work first. You sound like a National Enquirer reporter, making big exhagerated claims that anyone loking at these videos must think you are a ignorant idiot, and you sound like a junior high school nerd. Get a hobby.

  • The Black F18 is in a museum in Virginia. HARV program, followed by X-31 followed by X-36 and the Active F-15. Now the F22 is thrust vectored. Not 3D but effective.

Active had 2 P&W -229 engines and was undefeated in any dog fight on the Western ranges. Active just retired. X-31 is back to the US Navy and the Germans. X-36 is at Dryden and at the US Air Force museum. There are more planes but none public.

  • Russia does not have anti stealth technology, neither does China. There are theories and a few papers written, USA has the production hardware. F/A18 EF, F22 F35 B2 all stealth. Can't shoot what you can't see. F22 will manoever circles around most planes. Beter power to weight and electronics that lets it disappear while it is tracking multiple targets. It is worth the money.

  • i saw the video of the mig-29 ovt at the airshow on youtube. comparing it to the f-18 HARV, i say this plane has UNBELIEVABLE MANUVERABILITY

  • haha this is fukn sick, go USA!!!

  • What's the difference on the f.18, I see there is something on the tail but I can't figure out what it is, and also the f.15. These prototypes are alsome.

  • F-18 to test thrust vectoring

  • the F-15 also was fitted with a thrust vectoring nozzle and a pair of canards at the front.

  • Well, we see two aircraft. The F-17 first...then the X-17 with forward swept wings. Pretty cool how they test these machines for more than a year before the government grants them a ATB clearence.

  • The aircraft with the fwd swept wings is actually the X-29. I was at the only public flight ever of that model.

  • the black f 18 is actaully a f 17

  • @Aspartan3 ya i was thinking if it was the harv or the f-17

  • ur jsut a bunch of angry nerds who fnd an excuse to be mad at this country yea mabye u cant completley erase the radar sigitare but still u whats hard to find a golf ball going 653 mph or jet fighter going the same speed its not a waste of money u guys really dont under stand what radar guide missle do to f 15s and 16s yea sure in a war will would lose a few f22 to advance aamissiles but if u feel america is wasting money go live in china or iran some 3rd world shit hole so we dont need to hearu

  • china is not excatly 3rd world,dumbass

  • Can you document a time when an American flown F-15 was shot down by a missle or pilot? Do a little research.

  • lol u guys are idiots omg lol first of all do u know how ard it is to spot a radar signiture the size of a golf ball track it lock onto it and fire a missle at it comon f 15 f 18 are obselet sam now a days can litlery make it impossible for a plane to get through a countrie the you cant jsut put radar ubsoant material on an f 18 and say its stealthy you needa compleley diffrent air frame externaly mounted weapon wold cause a radar signitare look at the wings they al face a diffrent direction

  • the more i watch this video the more angry i get. all those shity upgrades especially the ones they did for the F16 making it all heavy and clunky and non manuervable and they could have at least made an aggressor squadron or something with these jets. I'm convinced that a sukhoi and a mig would be outclassed by these planes easily.

  • Oh wow a black F18 thats bad ass and the F15 active oh my god thats hard core even the F16 Vista. Why in gods name they didn't just upgrade all these planes instead of spending all that money on that stealth crap airplane f22 bullshit. This is why government makes no sense to me most of the time and military almost never makes sense but its pushed by politics and money. Damn that Black F18 harv is bad ass plane. You mean Nasa gets all this cool stuff. Jesus H Christ thats just a shame.

  • Um, ok, talk trash about these planes, you have nothing to do with your life, these are great airplanes and testbeds. Plus the F-22 is very good, you can't make those old airframes stealthy, plus the F-22 can hold a lot more ordanance than the F-15.

  • That was so they could put more money on UAVs. The F-22 isn't a waste of money. Not in their opinion. Plus, it takes very little to maintain the F-22 so maintainance costs are down. Plus it has a 100+/0 kill to death ratio in simulations.

  • wheres the x-36?

  • They didn't say it in the description. So it obviously won't be in the video. Sorry.

  • the F-15 active is my favorite :)

  • Very good collection of footage, well done.

  • what song is this?

  • I believe that all of these projects have merged perfectly with this beatifull song and linked togheter to perfectly reflect the real aspect of THE F-22 RAPTOR that they have brought to...!;)

  • Awesome!!!!

  • What's the song?

  • sash "i believe"

  • This is a fantastic video. The music goes really well with the insane maneuvers! :D

  • what ever happend to that F-16XL

  • It was beat out by the F-15E. Never made it to production.

  • i still think they should have done it. it looked so cool

  • LOL, yeah...they should have. Personally I liked the X-29...just looked futuristic even though they just switched the wings on an F-5.

  • i saw that f/a-18

  • yo, do you agree that the x-31 looks like a eurofighter to some extent

  • kinda

  • ya, the front and sorta the wings, i heard some people working on it were from Germany, and i heard something about eurofighter in the mix. i saw the f-16xl at Edwards airshow 2006

  • Yeah it kinda does. The Boeing X31 came out long before the EF2000 though. I'm not sure if Germany helped in the development. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Germany is only helping the US test it, fly it, and evaluate it.

  • germany did help with the x-31, the eurofighter prototype, or EAP came out before the x-31

  • and they made it into a single engine but heres the probablem with fsw u can get shot down to fast because if u lose part of the wing u need to eject unlike the f-22 & f-15 they could fly with no wings because if u get them going fast enough their just like slow rockets

  • Actually, FSW is a very sound concept. The airflow oves from the wingtips towards the fuselage as oppossed to the other way with conventional wing design. This increases stability throughout the flight envelope at all speeds. As the airflow is closer to the fuselage, I believe that it can withstand a fair amount of damage and retain control. Nothing was changed on the F-5 but the wings and the strake on either side of the engine.

  • the x-31 looks similar to a eurofighter

  • Its been a while since I seen this video, I forgot how awesome this video is.

  • Wow. Russian and russian fanboys... admit it. Nasa blows your aircraft by far. Sukhoi wouldnt be what they are today if they didn't have Nasa as a model.

  • nice music

  • god bless those test pilots. i grew up on Edwards AFB and watched some of these aircraft bein tested, amazing, truly amazing. and the F15 Active is bitchen up close, neat lookin aircraft.

  • I think the folks at Lockheed Martin would disagree with you there.

  • Please elaborate

  • Hear of this thing called the F-22A Raptor? Or the F/A-35 Lightning II?

  • I don't get your point. Yes I know enough about the F-22 (no longer designated with an A) and F/A-35. I don't know why you are approaching me like this. NASA paved the foundation for nearly all the aircraft that come out of mass production. They are the testing grounds. I stand correct.

  • Did you know it was NASA who first successfully used Thrust Vectoring on rockets, missles, and jets? It's one reason why US rockets were more accurate than Russia's. Sukhoi produces tech demonstrators with vectored thrusts and people on youtube don't realize that the USA had that tech first.

  • can u give me info on that?

  • @wslx0195 my penis vectors after watching all this cool aircraft action.

  • @wslx0195 ya i no russians belive what they want to belive like the t 50 isnt a copy of a yf 23 all it is is jelousey

  • @USAmilitarypower

the F35B is copy of Yak-141 this is known.

All american engines based on V2 from germans. fact.

When you boy try to point with your finger on someone and say he is robber it doesn't make you father of technology. America has no idea about engines turbines jets missiles ... its all german technology stolen and scientists bought from WW2.

  • @Talshet has it ever cross your mined that usa's scientist are from Europe (almost all) so thays why the usa is so great and power full the usa has every european in the usa and there Europeans are smart and that's why US is so great (the USA is a new Europa) i hop you see what i am trying to say.

  • @Talshet dude i can list a book about how mush Russia copy's.

  • @USAmilitarypower

I can list a book what russia build first on own technology. Do you can list it with us? i don't think so.

T-55 was stolen by Isreal the most technology in isreal and parts of now us tank technologies based on russian tanks. reactive armor russia. hexialrotor avionic russia. APS systems Shtora Arena russia. IR signature stealthsystems nakidka russia. Tandemprincipes warheads russia. mordern radarsystems russia. AntiAircraft missiles like S-200 -S-400 Tor M2 russia. torpedo too

  • @USAmilitarypower Please, enlighten us with the name and ISBN of that book. I will buy it.

  • @wslx0195 ya i know russians belive what they what they want to belive when all it is is jelousey

  • @wslx0195

    stolen by germans.

  • great song - great vid. Good job... keep 'em coming.

  • personally, I think this music goes absolutely perfectly with the video. Great job!

  • As far as that f-15 goes, I prefer the S/MTD flat nozzles.

  • I dunno, the ACTIVE and the IFCS both are quicker on the roll and reaction. All incredible aircraft though.

  • LOVE the F-15 ACTIVE

  • it looks good but if there is a limit to its speed, its not good enough

  • It was just a test bed to see what effects there would be and if any new technologies could be created for future aircraft.

  • ok, it seems to be a very nice plane, good enough

  • Why go fast when you have the ultimate in evasion and manuverablility.... ITs still fast, just not the fastest! Great Plane! Great Vid!

  • sometimes you want to fly because of the feeling, sometimes you just want to be in another place as fast as possible.

  • Its to bad the SR-71 was deactivated. Only the ramjets can keep up with that today

  • I thought at least 2 of the Habus were still flying with NASA as high altitude laboratories?

  • Really!? Thats interesting... i sure hope so, its an incredible feat of engineering!!!

  • I thought it was the U-2 that was still operating, not the SR-71...

  • In the reconnaisance role, yes, the U2s are the operational plane. I know 2 Habus were sent to NASA for use as high altitude laboratories but I'm not sure if they're still flying though.

  • Beats me. Maybe they should offer one as a more expensive ride than the "Vomit Comet". Think about it, for 5 grand, go three times faster than the speed of sound...

  • Wouldn't that be sweet? I'd pay for it in a heart beat to ride in the legendary Habu!

  • The SR-71 has a declasified speed pf mach 8! Imagine that! It goes faster, its just not declasified! :)

  • Sorry to burst your bubble there honda, the SR-71 couldn't exceed Mach 4. There are some reliable rumors that it had reached Mach 3.8 but only for a very short duration. At those speeds, friction could cause serious damage to the aircraft. It is the X-43 UAV that reached Mach 9.7, testing new "scram jet" technology back in 2004.

  • hmm... well, the placard at the museum and the two books i read on it must have been wrong...

  • Anything above Mach 3.2 could actually damage the plane's structure and engines (this is according to Brian Shul, actual pilot of the SR-71.)

  • The black and white plane, yes, a High Angle of Attack Research Vehicle (HARV) used to demonstrate stable flight at high AOA.

  • Thats an F-18 is it?

  • nice video gay ass music

  • great vidoe.

  • dude, a black F18 thats badass

  • NASA has all the cool toys. I'd love to just get a check ride in one of these planes.

  • the song is i beleave by sash!

  • Cool movie clip.

  • love this vid, what song is this?

  • that mongoose manouver the x-31 pulls of is mind blowing how the fuck dose it do that

  • I've seen the MIG-29ovt do some great stuff, but I just saw some of ours do stuff that I haven't seen any Sukhoi or MIG's do.

  • The red+white+blue F-15 in the video is the F-15 IFCS. It is an aircraft that uses artificial neural nets to help pilot the aircraft. It still has the 3D TVC and canards on it from when it was used in the ACTIVE and S/MTD programs.

  • I got to see and help(little) on the STOL(short takeoff on landing)F-15 ..it is mind blowing what these jets can do

  • and for whoever made the vid am so sorry i forgot to mention that this is one of the best ive seen bud and um can i have the name of the song plz

  • i love the x-29 and f-15.

  • yea the f-15 is beutifull fuck the su's and mig's if they see these manouvers theyll pee on themselves

  • Very nice! I wish they showed what the F-15 ACTIVE can do, though. This thing had true 3D TVC, on top of the huge canards? My goodness, this'd be perfect competition for the Su-35. :)

I believe most of these aircraft would be in US service if the F-22 and F-35 weren't developed over the years, and had billions spent on purschasing them.

These remained prototypes only because we have better aircraft coming (and in already now) into service.

  • Hi Northax,

Yeah, the F-15 ACTIVE, F-16 MATV, F-18 HARV were hyper agile jet's. The only one that's still flying from my understanding is the F-15 ACTIVE. The reason none of these axisymmetric vectoring upgrades happened is because the F-22 has taken on the F-15 ACTIVE in mock fights and the F-22 has shot it down everytime. Stealth is just a better overall skill set.

  • Well theres an offshoot of the ACTIVE, the F-15 ICFS (or is it IFCS, I have selective dyslexia lol) thats flying as well I believe

  • Yup. Doesn't matter if they can out-maneouver you, if you can shoot them before they see you. But if it comes to a knife fight, the most agile generally wins.

  • well no, its always the best pilot. You could put some PLAAF gomer in an J-11, and put him up against an ANG reservist in an F-15C, I garuntee you the ANG pilot will make the PLAAF yahoo wish he flew for Taiwan and got some real training.

  • MA the F-15 active is sick....

  • 5 stars! I have been looking for videos of the F-15 ACTIVE for ages! If you have any more clips of experimental aircraft, please post them =)

2nded, where did you get the clips from?

  • Buddy! Fantastic!!! You made my day! Thanx a million for this video. Wish I could give you 10-stars for this.

PS: Where on earth did you get these clips from?
