  • Great stuff, really synced in with the music. I thought for a minute it was a comtemporaneous video, then I saw Chucky!

  • Excellent music!

  • amazing song

    incredible album

    this video a masterpeice

  • The girls dancing at 1:00 is perfect!

What film is that from, looks like it might be wierdoliscous.

  • @mrmarmalademan It was from a old short film about the Prohibition era, probably footage of a Speakeasy I think. I slowed it down a bit to fit in with the beat of the song.

  • One of the most creative uses of found footage I've ever seen [Chris Conner would be proud]

  • great fanvid

  • That piece of work is better than an acid trip. Your choice of music, everything, simply excellent.

  • @route1box43 Wow thanks! Though actually, it's NOT :)

  • I have always loved this composition....your video is astonishingly creative and well-executed! Bravo! John

  • @johnstarnes Thank you! That's very kind.

  • WALL STREET soundtrack !!! ;)

  • thts a seriously good VIDEO that

    .

  • Still a rare accomplishment from anything else that's been done before or after it dropped. I also can't think of anything either of these talented artists have done that matches the innovative, ground breaking use of samplings as lead vocals on the tracks here. The music has that metallic edge, and the new world beats they employed..one has to remember there was nothing like this before.

    ...or since!

America is waiting for someone to make music like this again.

  • Brilliant!

  • Just discovered My life in the Bush of Ghosts - excellent album. Every track is brilliant! Going out to find the book which inspired Eno & Byrne for myself. Thanks for creating these vid, love the visuals :)

  • Very cool video. Love the old school tunes.

Could have done w/o the 'I hate bush' post @ 2:09 considering obama is waving the flag these days and doesn't seem to be any different than the others. Just sayin...

  • This is fabulous. Well done!

  • @wdamian Thanks very much ! Was good fun to do, and I didn't get sick of the song when i was doing it, which was cool.

  • @0ldfinger Haha, having done a few similar types of videos, I totally understand :)

  • buen video

    good video

  • the album im workin on is pretty similar to this methinks

  • Fantastic video, really fits the song.

  • Appears that Oliver Stone has a thing for Byrne/Eno. I just realized this was in the original "Wall Street" movie from the 80's. last week I went to see "Wall Street Money Never Sleeps" and the opening song was another Byrne/Eno tune called Home which is an amazing song. Thanx for the upload, Oldfinger. You did an amazing job!

  • Nice work, cool rapid images to a cool old song, I mean, whatchu gonna do?

  • Abstract

  • @MrChrisHermes Yes, you can't keep a good man down. God bless his cotton socks.

  • whats up with the satan stars at the beginning?

  • @InvisibleMasquerade Hi invisiblemasquerade, they're pentangles, supposed by many to have mystical properties, and the 5 points are thought of as having a special quality (5 being a prime, also representing the senses - and so on). I am not impuning any link whatsoever with out great Lord and Master Be'elzebub, halowled be His filthy name.

  • I keep reading that this album was released in 1981, but my vinyl copy of it is dated 1979.

I've also got 2 versions on CD - one with both Very Very Hungry and Qu'ran on it, and the 25th anniversary edition. One of the best albums ever made. And an excellent video!

  • You're very welcome, Oldfinger!

It must have taken a long time to do it?

  • @paulfunI did in in my free time....maybe 3-4 evenings after downloading the clips etc. Passes the time!

  • @0ldfinger pure class thank you

  • Great video for one of my favorite tracks! Thanks!

  • Thank you Oldfinger !

  • You have talent, good job done.

  • @popadapill Thanks!

  • My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts really go my attention when it was released in '81. Acid for the ears. Great job on this video! Way more than a collection of short takes, fits the video very well.

  • Excellent- I am getting bored with PhotoShop would love to move into moving images, and am not quite a fan of Flash YET-- the Actionscript part stumped me! Rahter just do editing without CODES- this is GREAT! THANK YOU! I LOVE your history lessons BTW!

  • @HeidiIvy Oh I don't know anything about the hard stuff like Flash. I just use the easiest thing I can get my hands on that does what i want it to do!!! Thanks again OF x

  • @0ldfinger Oh I hear yah- I am so happy there are easier programs out there! YEAH! Thank to you and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! The Emphemera ( I can not spell either- ha) is soo potent! Great job, realllly! I use vintage images I find in my work as well. The whole time passing quickly and CHANGE is all around, theme is tremendous! Cheers to you again!

  • whoever made this video did a great job!

  • @HeidiIvy All my own work ;)

  • @HeidiIvy nice! What program do you use?

  • @HeidiIvy I think this one must have been Ulead. Sometimes I use Corel video studio but this one is quite heavily edited and treated and usually Ulead stands up that that better....:)

  • Brian Eno and psyhic Derek Acorah have done an album together, called 'My Life With a Bunch of Ghosts'.Honest .

  • @pointreven Arf arf!!!

  • why in some parts of the video are there pictures which represents monster or somethingh linked to evil?

  • @ucciopituccio America is waiting, but who knows who is in the queue?

  • in 2:42 there is Barack Obama. this video was made in 1982 so i don't thnik he was there originally

  • thanks for the video. the author of video is Bruce Conner - found footage film artist.

  • @anetyrey hi anetrey, oh no he didn't, I made it, in July last year.

  • @0ldfinger yes i know i found it today :) i was looking for an original video & i thought that this is the version from 1982. but later i found this one of bruce conner. anyway great work!

  • great video! just like the music, it gives enough room for interpretation while being great to listen to/watch regardless of your understanding

  • @noudthe3rd you are very very very kind ! thanks

  • Beautiful work.

  • nice work!

  • @TifahThor Thanks TifahThor! Was good fun putting it together.

  • this video is brilliant, I've seen it a few times and the imagination behind it is commendable to say the least. 0ldfinger, amazing work!! Bravo

  • @marxmench you are too kind! many thanks for your comment.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

  • good edits. like how you used that backward horse and rider shot at the end. Good relation to the music.

  • What is the significance of the upside down cross?

  • excellent video and I've always loved the track, thanks !!!

  • Remember, this was all analog: tape loops, live drum tracks (or percussion beds built from multiple overdubs), and timing stuff by ear instead of by digital timestamps. It is as impressive now as it was when in came out.

  • great reference library, strong editing, and brilliant song

  • Really a perfect video for the song, worthing to accompany such masterpiece... thank 0ldfinger!

  • Great Video...who did it?

  • Me! I just stuck a load of stuff together.

  • Congratulations, you must have an incredible collection of 'stuff' that you could/can/do throw together.

Nice pace, and images well selected.

  • I loved it then, love it now, thanks for posting this 0ldfinger

  • Thank you Meekseek! Loved yr channel by the way.

  • way ahead of their time when the cd came out. I put fripp-eno and byrn as the 70's and 80's musical genius

  • good job on this video, the backwards stuff is great!

  • !sknahT

  • I have been a BIG fan of this CD for decades!!! Glad to see others have an appriciation for it! ;)

  • Yeah this works. really well. Eno and Byrne may be a bit 'prima donna' but they are more talented than 99% of the planet.

And this is over 20 years old? way cool.

_mountain of needles_ was quietly intense...

  • @xyaqua Make that 30 years old! I haven't heard this album in a very long time, like almost...30 years! LOL!

  • this works but why is there no message beyond the bimbs bimbos and boners but really make it bleed or so., likes... the sublimity values as well.

  • Great job, Oldfinger!!

  • so tight,quite brilliant,viva la low-fi.

  • Nice vid! I'm sure it was fun to make! This song begs for DADA! B\

  • It was and it wasn't. Woof!

  • nice vid, though the song itself can make even eating toast look spooky : )

  • superb video

    congratulations

    wonderful

  • Does anyone have The Carrier on Youtube? I could swear I played it here a few months ago but now it's gone.

  • As far as pioneering experimental music goes My life in the bush of ghosts is fucking GOD! , there has never been a better album before or after this one. And I reckon it's the best thing Eno or Byrne have ever done, including all their other projects.

  • ....Now dad's a suppa vid!

  • Grrrrrazie!

  • hey hey! fucking great vid, Mort*****! I love that album..it's actually the only Dave Byrne thing I like...well, I do quite like a coupla the early tunes like that Love building a fire one...I'm gonna dig out that Ghosts album right now, thanks...that Jezabel Spirit, that's the one I used to play alla the time..XXX

  • Cheeeeeeeeeers Tambo Vambo! Hey enjoy your stay Chez Finger. Mi casa su casa!

  • Yikes! Scary (almost) subliminal stuff! :o) Your video captures well the disturbing tone of the song. The rewinding rodeo horse was great.

  • Thanks! And top marks for picking out the "subliminal" ;)

  • I loved It. You get 5 stars and I get a new favorite video. Great to see you post again! Best Wishes! :)

  • Thanks so much - you are far too kind as usual! It was hard to finish it as I kept adding more & more crap to it until I began to forget what I was doing in the first place!!

  • Was wondering when Oldfinger was going to post again! Nice vid. I see you found a video of Professor Farquharson (sp?)on the 'Galloping Gertie' Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

  • So that's his name! Brave guy. I think these days he might find himself falling foul of health & safety regulations....

  • He went out 3 times to rescue a dog in a car on the bridge. Dog kept biting him. He finally gave up. Pooch took a dive when the central span collapsed.

  • sorry but i've tried four times to watch this video but it won't play. i will try again later

  • UHH, that's the way my life seems these last 3 months!! I Still want a cigarette!!

  • UHH that just about sums it up!!!
