Still a rare accomplishment from anything else that's been done before or after it dropped. I also can't think of anything either of these talented artists have done that matches the innovative, ground breaking use of samplings as lead vocals on the tracks here. The music has that metallic edge, and the new world beats they employed..one has to remember there was nothing like this before.

Appears that Oliver Stone has a thing for Byrne/Eno. I just realized this was in the original "Wall Street" movie from the 80's. last week I went to see "Wall Street Money Never Sleeps" and the opening song was another Byrne/Eno tune called Home which is an amazing song. I keep reading that this album was released in 1981, but my vinyl copy of it is dated 1979.

I've also got 2 versions on CD - one with both Very Very Hungry and Qu'ran on it, and the 25th anniversary edition. One of the best albums ever made. And an excellent video!

Remember, this was all analog: tape loops, live drum tracks (or percussion beds built from multiple overdubs), and timing stuff by ear instead of by digital timestamps. It is as impressive now as it was when in came out.
