I was there for a three week stay during the summer on Lake Moraine and Lake Louise just happened to be there on their National Holiday. There were wall to wall people at Lake Louise so someone told me to check out Lake Moraine.
there were a lot of families swimming in the lake, I live in the USA so the water was a bit nippy. I have such great photos of it all, I won a photo contest with my photo of Lake Moraine. Beautiful place, to go is a must. I hope you do.
I was there with my boyfriend who I met in Cancun that year. He lived in Alberta. So wonderful everywhere around there. I saw where you are from, that is funny b/c my sister and I were in Aruba in '99 and we met a guy from the same country. The accent is unique :D
I was there in summer and winter of 2004. Spectacular and so gorgeous it's almost like you are standing in front of a painting when you are there. Not as touristy as Lake Louise either. Very peaceful! A little chipmunk came up to us on a rock and we fed it :)
@leezer1204 Thank you for your comment. Everything you say is true. I have a personal question. Were you there with someone else? My entire video website is devoted to my wife - all aspects of my incredible marriage spanning multiple decades. Our devotion to each other transcended all other aspects of life. I am a strong believer in doing these things throughout life letting nothing else interfere.
Yes, the beauty of this lake is everything you say. Photographed by visitors from all over the world. The color of the water is indeed real, caused by pulverized stone brought in by glacier feed streams. Also seen in Switzerland. The small particles absorb the blue/UV component of light shifting the water color. My Switzerland videos show the lakes there. But Moraine Lake is considered one of the world's most beautiful lake.
